Well I've missed a few days, whoops

Best World Building -- I'm going to be dull and say Bioshock, literally any of them. I love them, all fantastic.

Favourite Multiplayer/MMO -- I'm assuming couch co-op counts, so Halo 1 or even back to the old days playing FIFA 94 with friends on the Mega Drive!

Favourite Protagonist -- I guess I have to be cliche and say Shepherd from Mass Effect? Most protagonists are one-dimensional, so...bland.

Favourite Antagonist -- Tricky. There's Atlas, Andrew Ryan, Comstock or Sophia Lamb from the Bioshock Series, SHODAN from System Shock, The Illusive Man from Mass Effect...so many to choose from!

Underrated Game -- Hmm...I don't have a good answer, so let's go with Fable / Fable TLC? Gets shit on because of Peter Molyneux's constant over-promising leading up to the release of the game that, naturally, the game couldn't live up to, but it was a really good game. I loved it, played it a lot, still come back to it from time to time.

Comfort Game -- Civ. Any Civ. Civ III is my all time favourite, Civ V I adored the most, but Civ 6 I'm having fun with, too.

Wait, I remembered a more annoying character than Fi.

Emil from Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World is the most annoying video game character ever. Kinda funny how the protag from the first game is one of my favorite characters, but the protag from the second game is my least favorite. Just whiny and obnoxious the entire game.

The beginning of Bioshock Infinite is unbelievably good for this.

Most Annoying Character: Roman from GTA IV - no I don't want to go bowling.

Another contender is Tom Nook - every time I pay off my mortgage, this dude comes back and says I owe him more money? I hope that's not how it works in real life.

most annoying character: Delsin from Infamous: second son yeah another Infamous entry but Delsin was the first one that came to mind he’s just whiny and a brat through the whole game and he’s the main protagonist so having to hear him through the whole game just gets on my nerves

Damn y'all really hate some Zelda characters (understandably)

Y'all have hit most of the best ones but with my recent play of Pokémon Sword I realized that there was one that was missing from that game

Fucking  Zubat. Literally the only reason I hate caves in Pokemon games is because instead of finding new little buddies, I'm gonna spend 85% of my time curbing the dipshit bat population.

most annoying character: i expected to see navi and i was right, though it's not really any fault of navi's own. oot was a lot of people's first-ever game in a 3d space and though the handholding was extreme i can see how it was necessary. if anything the biggest reason people hated navi was the fact that navi was coded to chime in so often. programming holds a lot of characters back; i was also thinking of ashley graham here. i've grown to really appreciate her honestly

my answer is a character you cannot blame on coding for being annoying. he is a character that is flawed in his conceit, a microcosm of everything wrong with his game series, and a character who adds nothing to the narrative and enjoyment of the game he is in. he is a glue trap in that if you find yourself relating to him you are doomed to die alone and unloved. i wish i could kill him. i wish the game let you kill him. i would have fonder memories of this game if he were not in it. unfortunately, he was. i speak of teddie from persona 4. morgana gets a lot of hate too and deservedly so but teddie was the prototype. the thing persona 3 had nailed and the reason it is my favorite of the 3-4-5 trilogy is because the mascot character doesn't fucking talk and hit on women. the mascot character is a dog with a gun. just a normal dog aside from the fact that he has a gun and can cast magic. they had it all figured out. why did they throw it all away. oh right because they hate women

I think the reason Navi is so hated is that the huge majority of her forced interactions are all front-loaded, and this part of the game is the part that's most memorable, and which most people experience. After you reach My Doom, she only chimes in a couple of times with forced "well, duh" dialogue

Most Annoying Character: Paimon, easily. Ruins the game for me.

*Phone rings*

Me: Hello

Roman: Hello cousin, you want to go bowling?

Me: Change of plans, Roman. We're getting pizza.

Roman: Pizza? What about bowling?

Me: Pizza.

Roman: But cousin....

Me: Pizza. *grits teeth*

*hangs up*

This my favorite paragraph I have read in a very long time, and I completely agree and will now throw my hat into the ring that for Teddie being the worst. I didn't have an answer for today, so now I do.

Most annoying character: Teddie, P4.

I had no issues with Morgan, Teddie is a tad annoying though

Morgana's simping for Ann is fuckin rough

edit:
Especially considering other parts of Ann's story. Making her a sex object in the estimation of other characters is super tone deaf after the first arc.

Fair enough I guess, I don't feel like it was over the line but maybe it was it's been a long time since I've played it I feel like it was more just a crush

it was that plus the fact that her character arc starts with getting one over on the gym teacher who was sexualizing her...only to spend the rest of the game in a revealing and skintight leather suit with a whip for a weapon. i get that she's sexualized because the target audience of the games is people her age but as an adult it's just skeevy, especially in the same game where you can, uh, romance your teacher.

To be fair, I always felt like the imbalance in that relationship was the opposite way. Joker is WAY too mature for that poor trainwreck of a woman.

Give me the doctor!

I also sometimes go after who I would like at my current age, I don't usually role play the romance

I also did like the teacher but yeah shes a bit of a mess, but I can fix her! 🤣

I'm always tempted to romance the doctor because she's totally MY type but when faced with the option I always end up going more Joker-age appropriate for the story.

I think Metaphor not including the romance option stuff makes the characters so much better. No simping scenes, all character growth.
Yeah, I think that's the majority opinion.

To me it feels like a missing game feature though.

As long as they don't remove it from Persona 6 like I've seen many people suggest they do...

There should be an asterisk next to zubat because after gen 1 it can evolve into Crobat, and Crobat owns and going into a cave with a bunch of potential Crobats owns. Just a bunch of zubats all vying to be your best friend so they can become Crobats.
The only thing I like about Crobat other than his little face is that I named my first one Croooooobat as an MST3K reference

Best Voice Acting: This is actually a hard one. Doug Cockle and Roger Clarke are absolutely fantastic as Geralt and Arthur Morgan, respectively. But at the end of the day I think I have to give priority to David Hayter as Solid Snake. I genuinely believe that casting choice is up there with James Earl Jones as Darth Vader in terms of creating an iconic character in their respective mediums.

Best Voice Acting
So many choices, both Jackie and Johnny Silverhands from Cyberpunk 2077 are up there for me (I did recently replay it, so it is fresh) but they are so charismatic

David Hayter as Solid Snake is iconic, even if it's B movie level, I think that is the point

Tommy Verseti from Vice City was perfect for the role

I also liked both Miranda and Liari's voice acting in Mass Effect

Arthur Morgan in RDR2, fantastic

It is really hard because there is a lot of good voice acting now and best is really subjective and it is hard to separate how much I liked a character vs how well their voice acting is, so Im gonna still lean with my Cyberpunk votes due to neither are up there on favorite characters

Best Voice Acting: Oh gosh, I am REALLY liking Troy Baker's Indiana Jones so far but it's way too early to put that on a list...

Neil Newbon's Astarion in Balder's Gate 3 is just dripping with charisma...

Ben Starr in Final Fantasy XVI was a star making performance (lol)...

Mark Hamill almost feels like cheating to pick as Joker in the Arkham games...

But yeah, I gotta go with Roger Clark in Red Dead Redemption 2. Oscar-level acting IMO.

this is a fun category, because i feel like you have to judge games whose original language is english and games that were dubbed into english a little bit differently. in terms of english dubs the one that immediately came to mind is xenoblade chronicles. that one emotional scream from the beginning of the game (iykyk) is one of my favorite bits of voice acting in any game. the weirdly british/australian flavor of the dub gave the game some real character and i'm glad they kept it up for the sequel xenoblade chronicles 3. honorable mention is fire emblem: three houses.

in terms of games originating in english...saints row iv popped into my head but i just love the idea of casting the immortal keith david as himself but the vice president. (that's not to hate on any of the other excellent voicework in that game series, or how tongue-in-cheek they are about reusing certain VAs for different roles) i think that's my honorable mention, though. my winner here is a game (series) i'm kind of shocked hasn't gotten much love yet. psychonauts 2 (and the original of course) has SO much character and is the extremely rare long-awaited sequel that lives up to expectations. the sloppy tim schafer jack black love affair never stops

Oh and a lot of the characters in Kingdom Come Deliverance, are very well acted and memorable

Now that I had a chance to draw inspiration from you all, I'll make my very inspired actual pick:
Arthur from RDR2

i'm glad they kept it up for the sequel xenoblade chronicles 3
lel I like how you skipped over xc2 entirely

I did think there were some decent performances in XC3 as well tbh. First game my mind went to, but probably only because I'm playing it right now.

accidentally posted this before i typed anything LOL

XC3 pleasantly exceeded my expectations. the core six are really good and crucially the battle lines you hear all the time don't get old. the thing is that lanz IS the mvp and we were all thinking it. (the voicework in the DLC is also very good)
