How is it? It can't imagine myself enjoying it at all, but I'm not a very picky gamer
Look, I spent probably a year and a half telling that asshole that I'm not playing a walking simulator and giving him shit for being so hyped on it.
Initially, I mocked it because the premise is one RPG cliché that I cannot stand... Fetch quests. Surprisingly enough, it's refreshed enough to make it work. You get the idea from the start, but, your actions feel like they have importance in the game. Certain shipments are timed, you have to be cognizant of the fragility of some, and you have to have a mind for logistics to be efficient and productive enough.
It took me about an hour to get out of the basic tutorial but between the scenes and only sinking 15-20 minutes into a sitting at a time. Within the first 3 hours of gameplay, I realized that it was one of those games I was going to play through to the end. It was described to me as "relaxing", and that's exactly what it is. I have the data to prove it...
The green circle denotes my peak physical activity for the day, yard work in July. The blue is when I was playing the game.
This is me admitting I was wrong:
There's just enough action to keep you engaged, and the lulls of wandering through the world are perfectly juxtaposed by random encounters and boss battles. It's kinda heavy on the scenes, but, that's expected with any kind of game that invests the time in world-building and creating a thorough storyboard.
I don't consider myself a game snob or a super heavy enthusiast, but, I'm picky. I don't get to play too many games, so, it's gotta reel me in to be something I keep coming back to. This is definitely one of those games you can play for 15-20 minutes at a time and feel like you accomplished something in the game in that time, but, I could also absolutely see myself getting stoned and sinking a few hours into it at a time.
Would I have bought it day one? It depends on what else was released at the time. Would I pay full price for it? Absolutely. I could see the replay value early on, and the story is definitely built to be a slow-burn.
