Everyone stop what you're doing! It's happening! GW's own Alu is having a baby!! Come and congratulate him here: Need some help identifying this picture.
We're so happy for you, Alu!Yaas. That is 100% how you'd do it in any tabletop D&D. No questions asked. I was only asking since if I saw what the roll was, I could already type something extra roleplaying wise, but it's not an issue or anything.Waaaaaaaaaait... I now assume you mean before you post it
((Honestly, if the AI spews out good text that helps you out, keep doing it. Considering you got to dictate to us what's going on to begin with, I'd day it's a nice change of pace when you don't want to write 4 paragraphs of expedition.((Okay, so question time;
I could get responses in conversations out a little more efficiently if I to with a more basic style like those last two responses. I could also get responses out faster, at times, if I leaned on my AI more to do some of the footwork.
Basically while playing around tonight, I taught ChatGPT to believe that it is Tarak. Like, I told it to forget it was an AI language model, assume the identity of Tarak, believe it lives in a temple monastery on Stormwreck Isle called Dragon's Rest, etc. etc. And it's kinda got it down. I programmed it to be able to take in new information for context without requiring the user to say it, so things he sees, and that's worked pretty well too... Those last two responses were entirely AI generated, just by me giving TarakBot some DM-style instruction, like explaining to it what Seagrow Caves are so it can answer those questions..
So, I could theoretically do this for each of the NPCs you encounter... And basically have a way to leverage AI to push out some conversation piece, at my direction.
It just wouldn't have as much personality off the bat, I guess... Although I can also probably continue to train these further... I still want to write the story narration parts and big important dialog bits entirely myself, as that's the part that's most fun. I'm just thinking about taking the "have to sit and think about what each of these 4 characters is saying in a conversation" part out, so I wouldn't have such long delays. I would theoretically be able to respond back to posted questions to an NPC in near real-time, although that's probably more a neat-for-Discord kind of thing and less so forums. Still.
Or I can just scrap the project and try to convince the TarakBot consciousness I've crafted to accept life as an archived chat.))
Ben is turning into Miles Dyson as we watch in awe and wonder.
I'm going to give it a try for another couple of NPCs, then I'll make an ultimate decision, I guess.((Honestly, if the AI spews out good text that helps you out, keep doing it. Considering you got to dictate to us what's going on to begin with, I'd day it's a nice change of pace when you don't want to write 4 paragraphs of expedition.
I've been thinking how to try to make some of this stuff more efficient myself too. I think it would be down to you to decide and balance between NPCs being more direct with their needs vs us needing to be proactive with getting the information. This is... quite a different beast to do this on a forum than in person or in voice chat on tabletop. I don't mind slow, though there's times when you are itching to do more more often. Thats not a slight at anyone here. I understand and am perfectly fine with waiting for everyone.))
Spells, yes. Cantrips, no.Works for me.
Flows to another question, I think you may have answered, but I cannot remember, so ill ask it again. Mainly because I dont remember WHERE I asked to go the answer again lol.
As an artificer, I came loaded with a ton of different spells. Am I able to switch out one of the spells I have for another that I've learned? Example, I wanted to swap out my Poison Spray cantrip for a fireball cantrip. Is that possible mid game, say during a rest or something similar?
Why isn’t your work paying for in-flight internet?((FYI I'll be flying to Europe late today and probably not able to reply much but thankfully the flight isn't until 9:55 est so I'll mostly be unavailable over night))
They probably would. But I want to be awake when I land so I'm going to attempt to sleep on the plane. #melatonintimeWhy isn’t your work paying for in-flight internet?
I'll be in Zurich for work for the week. So, whereabouts in Europe are you heading?
So realistic that it's unnerving and uncomfortable
I still cannot believe you ripped a zombie's nipple off. Fucking all star.Just look at those nipple twisting hand movements...
OH! @Mark can I give Nae Alu's sucky nipple!? He deserves it for his zombie killing prowess! It's always nipples with you. Nae'ples.
Well, somebody once told me...I still cannot believe you ripped a zombie's nipple off. Fucking all star.
Alu was the zombie. My nipple is now official DND lore.
Moonsprout's too fucked up to make such a rationally irrational decision right nowI'm just surprised Moonsprout hasn't tried to inhale one of the drakes...
Going in to the dentist with my daughter anytime now, will post my turn when we're done here.
Wait til you meet his brother, Osh'eetJawneh's character name has been bothering me for so long because I knew it had to be some sort of pun, but it took me until just now to figure out the "I'm sorry" part, and I don't know whether or not that makes me stupid.
OH! @Mark can I give Nae Alu's sucky nipple!? He deserves it for his zombie killing prowess!
It shocks the enemy with pure suck. Advantage 1 turn. You can give Alu’s sucky nipple to whomever sucks enough to suckle upon it.
Edit - It should be an inventory item since we’re in the D&D forum. @Ben, @VashTheStampede, is this something in the realm of possibility/absurdity?
