Yeah, it’s going to take a while to go through them all.

When I play games, I just go to one house then another until I get a subquest. If I get a subquest, I do that first, then continue visiting each house.

@GwJumpman @Raine @TD - do you have an actual preference for how we explore the town? My only thought is we try to get to a weapon store before doing any subquests

That's what Dude is doing, if you question Dude's purpose read Vash's post. He captured it well.

We do have some cash on us now so checking out some shops is probably worth it. I dunno if we'll get much out of like a weapon or armor shop (cuz we prob already have some armor on and they prob won't have any magical stuff) but for those that could wear something but aren't, they should prob grab something.

For Dragmire, he's not too interested in armor due to the nature of his combat style, but he's definitely interested in potions, magical items, and hearing gossip at the inn

Sildar: Don't go to the Tavern
T'anks: Goes to the Tavern

Gonna have to rewrite my inn songs lol

@VashTheStampede what's the way you handle spellcasting focuses or books? I have a free hand and technically I'm supposed to be holding a focus, should I actually be doing that (and figure out what my focus actually is) or are we not running strict spellcasting focus rules?

Well Dude's already gone, T'anks didn't listen to him as expected - so no way for him to know.

Good luck. Guess no Flute 'n' Lute, not sure how sad Dude'll be at her demise though.

;)

Do you even read my posts?
Yes but this thread is about having fun out of character. In character, Dude is too far away for Kutshort to do or notice anything. He is focused on finding someone to make armor for Hopper. That close call with Hopper near the twin pools might have given him PTSD

(In full disclosure, I read here before I read the campaign thread so if there were more posts I have not read them yet)

I was standing right in front of you in character when I said I was going to the inn and warned everyone to grab me if you go to the Tavern.

So no, just like wolf - you don't read.

I read here first, then that thread, since theoretically we would brainstorm how to approach various situations here first

Really?

I thought you just smashed that post button in game without reading a damn thing.

VashTheStampede

Sorry Jawneh
Can we not be combative, please? This is my happy place.

1. T'anks is going to the Sleeping Giant

2. Dude is going to the Inn

3. Kutshort is looking for an armorer or blacksmith?

4. Just need to know what Dragmire is doing

@VashTheStampede so, what're we thinking for Checks on:

- Remembering details about the Redbrand Brigands mentioned by Sildar
- Deducing what Grista keeps looking at
- Determining how many are in the Sleeping Giant

Okay. I'm not ending my brief break yet but I feel like I owe y'all an explanation for some of my outbursts.

TLDR; I'm struggling with trying to play with multiple playstyles and the concept of permadeath so I need a breath to re-evaluate how to approach this, I'll be back Sunday when I'm home.

Long version:

I'm struggling with a lot of this D&D stuff but one of the bigger things I'm struggling with is trying to work with all different playstyles, try to ensure everyone has fun, but also trying to have fun with it myself despite some clear differences in playstyles because that's just who I am - it's also the reason I can't and won't ever play wolf again, which I've been getting a fair amount of "flashbacks" to while playing this. I'm sorry if I've rubbed anyone the wrong way, please bear with me while I try to figure out how to juggle making sure this group (that I consider my friends) have fun while I can actively have fun myself. The concept of permanently losing a character affected me unexpectedly recently too, I don't play things like Diablo on hardcore mode for example. I know it's a possibility with D&D and I knew that when I signed up, but I also didn't expect to get as into the immersion and character as I did, so the idea of losing my character without seeing things I've foreshadowed put into place gave me some stupid anxiety for silly reasons. I needed to detach myself from this for a bit to evaluate how I can accomplish all of this without getting stressed. I'll continue playing, just please understand I'm adjusting to something I never really play.

Please continue to play and enjoy the town, myself (and Dude) will be ready soon.

Should we regroup at some point? I was going to head to the inn after this stop to drop off the crates. Didn’t the bartender say you might get a quest from her? Would it not be better if we are all together before seeing her?
I wasn't expecting a quest from the bartender, honestly! :chuckle

But such is the way of DnD!

I figured she'd head to the inn after seeing what this Halia Thornton character is about, to have something to offer the party. And that's the only place she knows anyone will be.
