Still got your fellow monsters here with youAyup... one of the things what got me severely bent out of shape.
I hate this logic. Hate it, hate it, hate it. I know a lot of trans women are ok with their anatomy, and that's great, more power to them, but I'm on the side of "get this thing away from me now!" I'm certainly not alone in my weirdness, it's a true burden, a daily reminder of everything I don't want to be. So to suggest that all trans women are looking to rape or are just guys looking to get freaky...ugh. Fuck that. When I was a supposed horny teenager it would take me MONTHS, literal months between...needs...to take care of that nastiness. I don't want to interact with it and there are plenty of trans women who don't, either. One blessing of hormones, going on over a year at this point and I'm not sad about that fact. So to those who want to claim us monsters are just rapists in disguise, go fuck yourselves! From an organizational standpoint, as Crystal said, likely chiefly related to maternity. Keeping your staff with specific specializations in relatively grouped areas and all that.
Secondarily, the... nasty undercurrent that holds that all men are rapist beasts. This would be the part that's pushing and fueling a ton of the current hysteria. All men are evil = all trans women are men in dresses = all trans women are rapist beasts and cannot be allowed into women's safe spaces. You'll note "safe spaces" was literally used.
Definitely the end goal. 100%. Sorry, we don't treat its here.Finally... because if there are specific wards for women, then naturally there should be specific wards for men too. Note this is one of the only times trans men have ever been mentioned by these hyenas. If there are specific wards for men, and specific wards for women, and all variations of trans folk aren't permitted treatment in either... you simply need to make every floor segregated and you're ostensibly legally permitted/required to not treat us. For anything.
The scary part is that's exactly what they're aiming for and they don't seem to realize it.Bonus points when women's healthcare is fully separated and then underfunded and understaffed. Good job Joanne, you're doing great work for womankind! Truly bang up job, darling.
Shhh, don't logic. They don't like when you logic, it means they have to think. If it's just a ward that specializes in a certain area of healthcare then people of all genders are generally allowed in it, aren't they? They're making it sound like anyone who isn't a woman is completely banned. Presumably doctors, nurses, and family members aren't restricted to only women. I'm pretty sure fathers are routinely welcomed in maternity wards.
Obviously this would be stupid even if it was a 100% women's only area for whatever reason, but I doubt that's the case.
Crystal's right; they don't like to be made to think because when that happens...Shhh, don't logic. They don't like when you logic, it means they have to think.
Afraid not, hon, there's a monster present and accounted for right here.Nuuu, only one monster in this thread! I'm doing my best to behave, though.
This is true, though I admit my interests are not straight, the vast majority are indeed (even as a marginalized group I have to find ways to ostracize myself even more )Yup, exaaactly. Also of course willfully ignores the fact that, y'know, tons of - if not actually most - trans women and trans men are straight. They ain't got no interest in that team!
I know the first thing I think of when I enter a bathroom is "damnit, I just need to screw something." Right? Nevermind this insane need to relieve myself, I need to prowl. And I have no earthly idea who is looking to fuck whilst needing to piss or shit, or while admitted to hospital for any number of reasons. The hell even goes through their heads besides fuckin' air? "Hey doc, I broke my foot. Put me in the ladies' ward so I can shag while having that cast put on."
Yay, to hell with us, we're wrong!Mmhm. And they won't until it's way, way too late. Don't worry though, despite being told on the regular that it's their fault and being shown the pitfalls, they'll still curse us while they're being mistreated.
Lol, well perhaps
Even if someone were the sort to do that, I doubt rapist dudes are stopped by a women's sign on the door, or would bother to pretend to be a woman to get around it.I know the first thing I think of when I enter a bathroom is "damnit, I just need to screw something." Right? Nevermind this insane need to relieve myself, I need to prowl.
Agreed, the notion that people are going to fake being trans to get some prowling on is ridiculous. They aren't going to make such claims, they're just going to do what they're going to do as the predators they are.Even if someone were the sort to do that, I doubt rapist dudes are stopped by a women's sign on the door, or would bother to pretend to be a woman to get around it.

It's a curse and a blessing both.
Exactly! If anything trans women have a disadvantage in something like that. Given the possible impact of male pubertyIt's not fair a trans woman won a beauty pageant? What kind of biological advantage did she supposedly have there?
Larger frame means bigger bazonga. It's not fair a trans woman won a beauty pageant? What kind of biological advantage did she supposedly have there?
I'm a stubborn moron....Member of the month, huh? Amusing.
People like them are precisely why I decided to finally let go, and pursue my own happiness.
There's no shortage of information available online. If they cared, they could learn. But they don't, and they won't. It's not possible to change their minds, alleviate their hysteria, come to any sort of understanding. And even if we could, there would be countless more to hold the line. And it's just not worth it. They're not worth it.
But hey, sometimes there's a glitch in the system and things don't suck. My boss got laid off/fired today. I'm counting this as a win for trans folk everywhere.
Ugh, I hated playing ally. Speaking up for "them" instead of speaking up for "us." I was such a fucking fraud.Haha, nah, I get it - I spent, I don't know, a decade or more just playing the role of Ally? Trying to educate people, trying to help them figure out where their arguments and fears broke or went awry. Debunking bullshit articles, finding and providing legitimate sources, pushing back everywhere that needed it. Sometimes it worked, or at least appeared to; some non-zero number of people softened their stances when I was around if nothing else.
But... ultimately, why? And at what cost? Part of why I generally stay aloof on the wider internet is so that I'm not tempted to smite fools on principal alone.

This. This is what pisses me off, what I'm tired of reading.
True, it was a bit like testing the waters, but it felt so wrong to me, lol. Jumping in hurt like hell, but I can't and wouldn't change it for anything.I feel you on that, but I think of it more as... testing the waters before jumping in.
Except we've tested the waters, found they're actually boiling, and jumped in anyway because that's still somehow less painful than the alternative...
Well that particular group are very much disgusting people, no question. It's the hypocritical and slimy nature of it, I find. When they're sending pictures of dead people, or bombarding with heinous stories, there's no defense or justification - they're simply shitty people doing shitty things.
I don't know about that, I'm no good person. All the hemming and hawing about trans people in sports, about how invalid our existences are, how we're definitely all predators just getting dolled up like the caricatures they've seen on TV - we know that's bullshit, but the average person doesn't necessarily have that full frame in view. It's insidious and worms its way into people, rots them from the inside, makes them just like the shitty people. And I get wanting to try and stop that for a variety of reasons. Totally. Being able to express sympathy is the mark of a good person
Well that wasn't me in that screenshot, but I get what you're saying. The only thing I’ll disagree with you on is the Chaz Bono/Caitlin Jenner thing.
Understandable, completely and yeah, you're right. I think that's a big part of why those people get the spotlight, honestly. Let's make trans people look fucking terrible. It's why an average trans person will never make the news. Those two dipshits took the struggles y’all go through and capitalized on them for attention. One, a child of celebrity parents with no real tangible “value” in the limelight beyond that, the other… outshined by their daughters and ex-wife. They both were rapidly fading into obscurity or into the background before they transitioned, and used their transition to launch themselves back into the spotlight. Honestly, they may have done more harm to the cause than good on top of that, because there are a lot of people like you and like I that view them that way. Their efforts may have been great for THEM, but it made a lot of people with limited knowledge of trans folks look at their transitioning as a cry for attention or relevance… which means that if that same person with limited exposure to trans folks met you, they’d be a lot more likely to hate on you since the only other trans folks they’ve heard of are the attention whore types.
Of course, many people form their opinions from news sources and hearsay when they don't know or understand a subject. It takes education to truly understand a subject and education is where things are truly lacking when it comes to trans people. There's not much to be done about that for those unwilling to learn. In that same line of thought, tell me what you think of this… because this came to mind while typing my response. There’s obviously an overwhelming amount of people that think trans folks are predators, and more often than not… those people are the type that don’t actually know many trans folks themselves. With that said, there’s a very good chance that those people may have only heard of instances that made headlines either locally or nationally. Just like with anything else… a bad headline is gonna push more copies than a nice one. If you’re some backwoods motherfucker, and the ONLY knowledge you have of a “trans” individual is someone that you heard of in the town paper who (would’ve been a predator regardless) dressed as a woman to assault a woman, and Caitlin Jenner… what do you think your outlook on trans folks is gonna be?
You're not them, not even close. Straight white male, yes, but you learn. They don't.Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to justify that kind of shit… but I AM trying to get in these folk’s heads and see what compels them to hate so blindly and with such ignorance, and as a token straight white male… I’d like to think that if anyone is gonna figure those fuckers out, it’ll be one of their own.
Totally agreed. I should change my avatar there to a progressive pride flag, lolOof, anyone who gets that offended over pride flags is probably a lost cause.
No, no, no, there are no monsters here!Afraid not, hon, there's a monster present and accounted for right here.
Oof, anyone who gets that offended over pride flags is probably a lost cause.
Sure, because the Confederates were fighting a war over slavery, which is bad. Nobody is saying, "it's cool if you want to have slaves, just quit shoving your flag in my face." People who say "it's fine if you're trans, but don't call me cis or throw your flag in my face" are really saying "it's fine if you're trans so long as I never even have to hear that you exist".It’s the symbolism for them… think about how riled up people get over the stars and bars because of its association with the south. Oddly enough, over here… most of the people that don’t see why people make a big deal about the Confederate flag are the same ones making a big deal about the pride flag.
It’s funny how that works.

Looks like it's time, then. Mama TERF is entirely mask-off now. No false/backhanded "I love transgender people" comments, no "show me one time she's been transphobic" arguments from her cohorts, no nothin' - just pure, unquestionable bigotry.
Which was in response to this:
Which she specifically doesn't link to, but Google isn't hard so this is the article:
Which is pay-walled, so I can't read it. A Reddit comment provided a full screencap though, which I have copied and uploaded here:

...Which, y'know, shockingly doesn't have anything whatsoever to do with rapists.
But it's a two-fer, y'see, 'cause that's also a good thing for trans and gender nonconforming folk in Australia!
It also doesn't say anything about victims being forced to refer to anybody in any particular way. I'm sure even if they refer to their rapist as an "it", nobody would correct them. The court needs to treat all parties involved with respect. Nobody expects a rape victim to be respectful towards their rapist....Which, y'know, shockingly doesn't have anything whatsoever to do with rapists.
What a horrendous miscarriage of justice that would be if they had to stare them down AND be nice to them. Ridiculous. It also doesn't say anything about victims being forced to refer to anybody in any particular way. I'm sure even if they refer to their rapist as an "it", nobody would correct them. Out of curiosity, what is the context of celebrities sharing this video? Are they so out of touch that they think this looks good, or are they rightly mocking how fucking ridiculous it is?This is making the rounds because a lot of celebrities are sharing it, and it will be addressed here.
I totally agree, it's a despicable video and one that absolutely makes me want to scream fuck you for promoting that shit, Israel. That's a classless, bullshit thing to do. Also just because, fuck JK Rowling. It has the same energy as the, like, 80's sitcoms where the punchline began and ended with "lol gay" regardless of what the characters did or say. With the framing of, like, a low-effort SNL skit or something.
There are so many offensive things about it that I legitimately wouldn't know where to start. And so, I seethe.
Well I'm an idiot, I openly admit that, but it's not because I'm LGBTQ+.In a video where, by posting it, Israel is taking the stance that I guess LGBT folk are stupid, naive children whose existences can in some capacity be compared to a literal terrorist/violent reactionary proto-military force?
This! So much this. Can't exist anywhere without the hate.i always love when people are like "why are you supporting the palestinians????? isnt hamas anti-LGBTQ????" and im like dogg the person currently second in line to the presidency of my own country is open and unapologetic about how he feels about gay people so like (not to mention how the person first in line to the presidency would happily throw me into a men's prison)
Yeah, Twitter or whatever is a miserable cauldron of hate and vitriol patronized by trolls, idiots and tears, best to leave it and platforms like it alone. Not that I'm sitting here innocent, I get lures into stupid arguments and need to step back, but you're right, shouldn't let it get to you.times is rough. we gotta take care of ourselves. if i have a piece of advice for everyone on this thread it's that some people are not worth engaging with. the venn diagram of people who could have their minds changed w.r.t. how they feel about trans people and people who are arguing online about it is two circles. i barely go on twitter anymore. i see the most headass thing i've ever seen and let it wash over me like water off of a turtle's back. it has no effect on me. (i mean, it does. but then i remember that the person on the other side of that screen has a way worse life than i do or else they wouldn't be starting arguments on twitter in the year of our luigi 2023.)
Aww, so awesome! Always a nice boost to hear something like that!i know i only pop my head into this thread every now and then but i'll leave off with another small positive note. last night i had dinner with some friends, including one of them's mother who has known me since i first met her child in middle school. it was her first time seeing me in like five or six years! and she kind of jokingly said that i was sexier than her now (i haven't earned that yet but man was it nice to hear lol)
