Yeah 253k Novas feels low as well, but as you say, we don’t know player numbers. But there are just under 200k followers for the sub Reddit, and the main Snap exclusive YouTubers have fairly significant follower numbers. Would suggest that the number is lower than you might expect.

In other news, there’s some interesting discussion about Symbiote Spider-Man and how exactly the merge will work. The Symbiote on Klyntar merges current power even if caused by ongoing abilities, and the same happens with Venom’s power. So the theory is that if he merges with the likes of Devil Dinosaur or Darkhawk, he gains their current power in the merge and then the ability triggers again, which would give him pretty massive power (and may have contributed to the decision to nerf Taskmaster). Even if it doesn’t work like that for Ongoing, it will work that way for merging with the likes of Sage, Blank Panther, Blob etc. And Regis pointed out that because it merges with the lowest power, you could do things like play Symbiote on 4, Sandman on 5, and then Doom in the same location on 6 and activate, which gives you two triggers of Doom on the last turn.

I think Symbiote Spider-Man might be the first season pass card I buy. Looks like there’s a good chance that he breaks the meta and ftp players will be left behind without him.

I've been watching some Twitch and actually I haven't seen anything particularly inventive or game breaking so far. People locked onto the BP Zola combo early, but that's why a lot of decks have appeared on ladder with Cosmo in them. He seems to fit well in Namora decks too, but I've also seen top ladder players using him with Gwenpool. I'm unsure. I've only played a bit in the last 24 hours but am climbing fine with Arishem. I'm going to wait a few days to see if I want to break my ftp status forever. Same for getting Silver Sable. I have 10 keys so feel like I should, but am looking at future spotlights and wondering where best to use those keys to keep up with the meta. I'm really not sure at the moment.

but I'm pretty sure every other combination resulted in me winning. hob then wong, hob then panther, panther then hob, or any panther/wong combo.

I went for Silver Sable. Fourth time in a row it took me four keys to get the new card, but I needed US Agent, and the random card was Cannonball, who I didn’t have. So happy with that overall. Been running this and has some success with it. Targeting Black Widow when she comes around, and then might get Ajax with tokens to run an affliction deck. Either way, probably not going to get the season pass card now. Don’t feel like Symbiote has been as unbeatable as I thought he would be. And if I’m wrong, I’ve got 12k tokens so I can pick him up next season.

I quite like this OTA. The Sandman nerf is fine, but the buffs to a load of cards that get very little play is really interesting. And if it revives War Machine he is coming up in spotlights soon.
