What's with all this league nonsense? You get put with 29 other randoms and you all gain and lose points for wins/losses/cubes for various rewards? It's fine, but I refuse to allow myself to be sucked into playing the game more just to climb that league. The top reward of a spotlight key is great, but I almost certainly don't play enough to be in with a shot of winning that.

Ive just read the notes and it says they’re assigning you with players about the same level who play about the same as you. Which, in theory, sounds fine. But all depends on how exactly that algorithm works, because I’m in a league with ten people who haven’t even played in the last 24 hours, and a handful who are playing about twice as much as me.

I’ve felt like my decks haven’t been competitive in the meta this season and have been struggling to climb. But pulled Sage and Tribunal from two keys this week and have found a Sage deck that is doing work (it’s Alex Coccia’s Sage Surfer deck). Will see if that can get me to Infinite. It doesn’t mean anything but it’d be nice to keep the streak going.

I was on -1 in the middle. He had priority. Must have figured by moving Jeff there and putting Red Hulk down that there was no way he could lose. Well, Sage had other ideas. Just a casual 3 drop with 32 power on the final turn. Massive.

I was hesitant on Namora but I have to try for her I think. I have 12 keys and whilst I don't want to be reckless with them, Leech is getting nerfed again and she looks good even in the current meta. I also have Black Knight but not Skaar, so it looks like a good value week. I do now regret passing on Jeff when he was with Mirage and US Agent, but I'm also using gold at the moment to build up my tokens, so can grab Jeff with tokens when he next pops up there.

She's good, but not game shattering or anything. People(and by that I mean reddit) seem to be focused on whether you can manage to pull off the big combo like I posted before, but really I think her versatility comes from being able to buff cards like Jeff or captain marvel and then have them move later to your advantage.

I went for Namora and it took me four keys to get her. But actually that’s fine. Already had Black Knight, and now I have Skaar along with MODOK. That’s basically given me a fun new card and two old ones that give me new archetypes to play with. I was starting to get a little bored with the game to be honest, but pulling those three has given me some motivation again. Which is a pretty good use of four keys in any circumstance.

Due to how he was snapping, I could not have lost more than 1 cube that final round, so I had fun

So I had 9 keys and decided to use one this week since I didn’t have skaar and thought a 50% chance if a new card was nice. Instead I pulled base darkhawk. Fuck that. Saving the rest of my keys for the eternals

New favorite deck alert. Apparently this was on reddit but I saw RegisKillbin playing it and it's stupid fun.

Basically half your deck is 6 drop big bads.

1 X-23
3 Electro
3 Killmonger
3 Venom
3 Wave
5 Blink
6 Knull
6 Galactus
6 Alioth
6 Ultron
6 Destroyer
8 Death

Half your deck is used to ramp into into baddies. Electro and Wave are obvious. Killmonger and Venom act as ramp if you can kill X-23. Blink turns any of your 3 drops into one of the big bads.

It has some hilarious and fun lines of play. Cheating out Ultron early and then killing all the drones to pump Knull/Death. Galactus into Knull into Alioth to shut down Shang Chi is an old favorite.

Avenger bought blink with a little free money he had and this deck popped up on untapped. he tried this deck and it just did not work out for him. He must have not gotten the best draws because he would end up with a lot of 6 drops and nothing to ramp up to them with for multiple games.
