@VashTheStampede @shortkut I started playing last Thursday and am going to get to infinite before you. That is my goal.
Yeah my biggest advice to noobs is go for infinite ASAP because the higher your pool, the harder it gets.

I GREATLY regret not pushing for it when I was new.

I've never used him, but I feel like I would always forget he's waiting to pounce.

Or I'd always draw him turn 6.
Yeah, thats exactly what happens.

Part of the fun of this Cerebro-2 is Lockjaw. M'Baku helps you recycle annoying fuckers like Scorpion and Iceman, helps you dig for Cerebro, and then there's a higher chance of him being doubly useful since Lockjaw is sending him back to the deck.

So playing through a trash deck of unupgraded cards to get some boosters.

Get snapped and I'm like ok it's infinite so these don't matter and snap back.

Guy ends up winning and just spams ms marvel emote.

Like congrats I guess? I'm literally just here for boosters

I got as low as 79 and got back up to 82 almost 83
I think what finally got me to the top was being a lot more okay with retreating. If the opponent snaps and I don't know what they have planned, I retreat. If they snap and I don't feel like I have a path to my best case scenario on my side, I retreat. If it's final turn and I feel like my chances are less than 60%, I retreat. 50/50s used to be the death of me.

Felt bad at first but I saw myself slowly climbing. Two steps forward and one step back gets you there eventually.

Then when I got to the high 90s, it felt like a lot of my opponents had a similar gameplan. So I got more aggressive with snapping on like turn 2 if I had a good chunk of my deck's plan in hand. That would usually lead to guaranteeing at least 2 cubes when I make my move, instead of them bouncing out for a 1 cuber once I windmill slam some bullshit on the board.

Okay so all this talk of leveling. I have never liked card games, Magic, Pokemon, Hearthstone, none of them.

Im just starting out into series 2 I believe (maybe 3 or 4 cards from Series 2), Im kinda stagnating around 30, like right on the cusp of Silver. Ive gotten up to 32, then I dropped in one morning down to 26.

It this complete lack of skill in my part? (Either in deck building or playing), or is this more that I'm being effectively "out carded"?

It's perfectly fine if you tell me I suck, Im enjoying the game and I get better at it a bit each day, but sometimes I look at the way a hand plays out and Im like "I've never seen that card before" or "I didnt know that interaction worked that way" when maybe I am just shit.

Keep ranking up cards and eventually your deck will expand. I did a lot of growth when I got a knull and Zola

I finally tried an On-Reveal deck, and so far its been good for me to climb back up again.

Its "fun" to me in the same way as the destroy deck in that you're in constant aware of how specifically you need to play cards, but its more stable in that it doesnt have to be AS precise as the destroy deck.

so you think its more cards than it is me just sucking?

Nah, you're not shit. Biggest part of getting good at the game is learning from those moments. Knowing those interactions. I'm still running into the occasional interaction that surprises me, and then it sticks with me.

Had a guy play Titania and Green Goblin on the same turn and lane against me a month or so ago. I had two cards in the location already, so he basically locked me out of that location, and he only had to drop one cheap card in there on turn 6 to make Titania jump back and win the lane. Now that's one of my favorite moves and I used it to get an Infinity Ticket today.

I love using Odin after green or hobgoblin to send them back

Yeah so much comes down to notices patterns ans predicting what your opponent may be trying to do. Factor in knowing when to leverage advantages whether in your hand or locations that benefit you.

My match win rate pre infinite is usually only 50-60%, which without strategic snapping/retreating would be barely breaking even with cubes. But knowing how to leverage those my cube rate is almost equivalent to winning 75%

ATTENTION THE GREAT AVENGER HAS SOMETHING TO SAY
This is why Avenger plays a lot of culson, fury decks in conquest. Except they dont usually get him far with people playing meta decks haha.
