I bet being on the instigator team is crazy fun.
It was insanely fun being a pair with TD, and we couldn't even speak with Tommy!

It's fun being a wolf, too. Just a lot of time and effort involved.

This is a completely selfish "It would be more fun being a townie if you let me pay you to delete Blind Wolf and kick its Wolfsville creator in the testicles" post.

Nothing wrong with being sus though; usually if you're playing at all you're sus to somebody. Just need some sort of vague claim to stake and be ready to go down like a champ (or chump, depending!) when the time comes - and it will come, early and often, 'cause that's the fate of wolves. :chuckle
Yup. Being sus is def okay. I was basically.on everyone's list immediately last game. The wolves quickly found me out with all blind wolves, but I don't know if all or most of the town did yet. Unless it's gunner, priest, and whatever the other ones were, you're always a tad sus. Part of the game. No worries.

The Jawneh thing was unfortunate, but 1) I understand it's hard to keep perspective when you're drained (or draining) and 2) I didn't immediately pick up on that happening since Jawneh's goose seemed ready to get cooked right before your declaration. Lessons learned and all that though, hopefully!
Probably. I don't know. Post game for that tended to be more healing oriented. I never asked how people felt about me being a wolf openly. Well, Kat said she liked it. Not sure if anyone else did.

Jawneh's 100% all about the foreplay.
Totally. Ask my wife.

I just always scratch my head when a role that is completely provable on the spot gets watered or shot. Just seems like bad communication.
Well, you'd think you get at least half a day to squeeze some juice. And it's not like you think there's 2 gunners in back to back games. But I'm sure you already have seen that half these games seem to be devolving into shenanigans to some extent. I believe there was one other game with me being a gunner where I was about to shoot Raine for the giggles. :D And I'm fairly sure everyone knew she was town.

I don't see what makes the Corrupter any worse than the Arsonist
Arsonist is the most luck driven. If you have two good night 1 douses, it can be true chaos. I don’t have to tell you this, but if you don’t, it’s near impossible.

I’d probably rank the challenge of the solos as currently constituted like this (easy to hard):

Instigator
Alchemist
Illusionist
Serial Killer
Arsonist
Corruptor
Evil Detective

I don't see what makes the Corrupter any worse than the Arsonist
Vash volunteers to be the next Corruptor!

...I legitimately don't see any fun or viable strategies for it. Functionally it's just fodder to make the wolves have a slightly improved win rate. The townies and the wolves can/will both know things about the victim(s) the Corruptor themselves won't. They can't try and bodysnatch their victim, but the wolves could. That seems backwards?

The Arsonist can't really be blocked, the Corruptor can. The Arsonist can stack, the Corruptor can't. The Arsonist can decimate the entire field such that it doesn't matter what they're igniting; the Corruptor has to go one at a time with a delay attached and hope for the best.

The benefit of the Corruptor is that you have larger claim space due to the masked roles. With a couple people corrupted, people won’t ever be able to narrow down the role list to “out” you because your role can’t exist.

In theory yeah, but in practice - especially/particularly here at GWF - it's "maybe take a shot in the dark at a role claim Day 1 and hope whatever person you hit had something tangentially related that they won't just tell the Necromancer and invalidate anyway."

Anyone you kill at the end of Day 2 already either has a claim in place, or has been narrowed down such that it doesn't matter.

Game is functionally over at the end of Day 3 unless, like with Game 11, extraordinary shenanigans are afoot. I do enjoy that Game 11 and Game 14 are polar opposites; one had like the highest living player counter, the other one of the lowest. :chuckle

Although being 2 short in overall participation numbers does technically contribute more to that second statistic.

That seems far more beneficial when we didn't have all random roles. Easier to hide. With ALL random roles and everything capable of being multiple, the role is just a delayed death sentence.

1) Hmm... given the time I had available, I'm content with how things were done. I do not regret shooting you when Benzine, Kat and shortkut all did false claims against you. You had to die to begin unraveling that. Also, still under the impression the wolves killed Vash because they knew his status as a Strong, and tried to lynch you because the same, and would have done me in Night 1, again, for the exact same reason. I'm still completely against the entire existence of Blind Wolf, pre- and post-buff.

2) There's a lot. My official answer will be that firing at 10:40 PM and everyone functionally losing ~10 of the 24 hours of the phase was the biggest mistake. That hurts immensely and there's no recovering from it, with or without consideration for who would or would not be available within those hours.

That aside the biggest miscalculation is nobody (besides me, I guess, but that sounds conceited 😓) really having the capacity to realize what the wolves were doing, with or without Instigator layered on top, until after their death and seeing the spoilers. And then, I guess by extension, continuing to ignore that as a possibility/reality/consideration after my death? As I joke about from time to time, my hidden super power is that I cease to exist the moment you aren't looking at me. Everything I've said, or done, just - whoosh! - gone with the wind. So while I haven't really looked at the living threads outside of where I've been tagged since the end of Day 1, I imagine it's a safe assumption. :shrug

TL;DR I would posit trusting Seer claims > trusting player instinct is the biggest misplay.
Posits past trauma with the wolfkind. Seemingly very deep as well. May evolve into a more deep-rooted aggressive tendencies. Potentially a minor god complex. Analytical and also long-winded in explaining things. Definitely a piece of work. Don't piss her off.

Many thanks. Shame we could not do this in the land of the living. Mayhaps there some poetry in us meeting here again and finalizing it all.

Next!

Ahh, one of the regulars here. The one who tends to always come around night time to convers with the dead. Curious how that works. Maybe he has some connection with lost souls or the afterlife. Maybe he knows if my old girlfriend is. If she's come past here. Never liked some of the types she worked with.

Mr. @Benzine . I'm sure just Ben is fine. Here's your questioner. Maybe you've seen the same thing and even filled it while visiting here. Bureaucracy though. Please still fill it again.

Q1: If you could do something different, 20/20 and all, what would that be?

Q2: What is the biggest missplay currently in the land of living? Without spoiling anything using otherworldly information

Q1: I had started a post outlining the way the groups alive must've worked, but Fools posted his comment about protesting too much, and that really annoyed me, so I stopped. I should've kept going, I might've been closer than I thought.

Q2: I haven't looked so couldn't answer
Fast reply. Gave up too early and could not recover. Victim of others. No further ties to the living. Seems to be astute and fairly on point otherwise.
Very good. Fast replies ends my day faster as well. I like it. Never liked quotas. Never gotten rewarded for meeting or exceeding them either.

Who do we have on the list.... @Local Hero ? Sir... actually, never mind. It is your name and you have to... had to live with it. Here's the questioner.

Haven't I killed this guy before? I'm sure I've shot him in more than one occasion. Maybe the job is getting to me and I'm seeing things. Quite likely. No pleasing rainy days either to calm my mind. I wonder if blazing hellfire sounds more relaxing than water droplets on a tin roof.

And there we have it. We found the stationary thief. Barely here and already at it.

Security! Or whatever we have here. Someone go check what else she has before we have to start to nail everything down.

I swear I get all the nutjobs. If I wasn't dead and beyond the grasp of my boss I'd say she was sending them all my way on purpose. No rest even in death. Hmm. I wonder....

@Zell 17

Points finger at @Raine and says bang.

So like I said outside of mentions I haven't really poked my head into the land of the living.

Is this how it's been since I died? This... obvious? 'Cause it's a complete who-cares-production from the looks of it. :rofl

Day 1: I'm a Spirit Seer
I don’t know if Kat is a spirit seer or liar, but i am a spirit seer and I checked 5 & 10 and one of them is evil. That’s Jawneh and Kat

Day 3: I'm a Sheriff
I watch fool thinking he, as a known townie would be the next to be eaten

Yeah, I saw that. He also posted a gif hinting at sheriff in his first post day one and nobody noticed he claimed something else.

Oh, that. Yeah I remember seeing that, didn't really think much of it at the time.

But, yup. Womp.

Edit: To be fair I intended to just shitpost, shoot somebody and call it a night. So... need to learn to bridge the gap between casual and serious a touch more, mayhaps. 👀

Why was it not obvious to everyone they kut is claiming, publicly, to be the instigated wolf? I feel like he was doing that yesterday as well, but my timeline might be a bit off due to the timezones.
Everyone forgot Instigator existed, too much Cupid PTSD.

He started by taunting me that he may have been the Blind Wolf again, and then just continued the bit from there. :chuckle

Bit of a late start for my morning today, but still not really enough to lay out more thoughts. Also not entirely sure I care enough to since, typically, getting too wordy (we'll see about that...) just serves to waste everyone's time.

Strictly from a gameplay perspective with this exact Dictionary availability, written as-is, in combination with this specific community at GWF
I'm not remotely interested in taking shots at anyone. I'm not interested in devaluing or overvaluing the work of others. This has nothing to do with this game, nor any previous game, but as a general sentiment. Please do not get upset, I am not calling you out in any way.

1) It is established fact that the wolves very nearly can't win under normal circumstances. As a united front of four. To have to consider that someone in their "informed minority" chat is working against them, then, somehow makes it worse. And not even working against them, actively relaying 100% of their thoughts, strategies and actions - to say nothing of just blatantly sharing their identities - to another team playing against them.

2) Any and all problems with regards to game balance are made worse when the game doesn't start with the "balanced around" magical number of 16. Starting the town down 2 isn't necessarily bad. However. Starting them down 3, the wolves down 2, and creating a superinformed functional majority is just bad design. Sorry.

With the above considerations in mind: I don't want to contribute to wasting the time of members of this community, friends or acquaintances. There was no point having a wolf team this game except to hide the fact that there was a second wolf team. That's straight-up disrespectful to Kat and Tommy, and doubly so for Jumpy who's still very new to this game with us.

So. TL;DR

- If there aren't 15 players, I'm not signing up.
- If the Solo Voter and Solo Killer aren't publicly stated (or the concepts of Cupid and Instigator reimagined), I'm not signing up.
- I've long since actually given up, but the Blind Wolf fucking suuucks. Don't @ me. :tease

I would consider informing the wolves that the Instigator or Cupid has been drawn if people are for it, but not the town at large. The fact that an Instigator or Cupid can be in the game helps the evils, because when they get accused they can always claim that the "proven villager" that's pushing them is Cupided or Instigated. You think Fools or Local won't think twice about following the mob after this game?

Also announcing to all that the game has Cupid hurts the wolves tremendously, because it eliminates the possibility of Fool or Headhunter. It's free lynches from day 1.

Following up on this, in a game where the wolves realize there is an Instigator they obviously have a tremendous advantage. They have 4 members to the Instigators 3, and they have the ability to kill whereas the Instigator does not.
