You see historically they always lose when I watch.

Ask the Raiders.

They won the Super Bowl, I was born, and never again.
That's why you have the cat watch it with you. In some cultures, black cats are believed to bring good fortune.

The year I had my cat, the Leafs made the playoffs. Furthermore, they seem to win whenever she's watching the game with me.

Well, the Leafs are still showing they're still struggling heavily to score more than 2 goals a game. We were fortunate the last game thanks to a breakaway chip from Domi to Matthews, but even then, we had to dig deep to win that one.

I thought the Bruins stole that game. The Leafs had all the pressure and the chances, Swayman has just been great. Kept them in it long enough for the B's to do something.

Playoff DeBrusk is the second coming of Krejci and about to be paid way more than he should be.
Hm? Interesting. I thought the Bruins were outplaying them for most of the game, just that the Bruins were also being put in the Box more often. It's the first game of the series where the Bs had more shots and more scoring chances than the Leafs.

The third period particularly. The B's dominated it far more. They kept it close the other two periods.

The Bruins were the better team in the third. Throughout the other two, it was as you said, a close game.

As expected though, the Bruins special teams has come through for them. Boston is currently 5/10 on the PP while Toronto is 1/11. I figured the Leafs would be at a bit of a disadvantage, but not a gap this wide. Furthermore, out PK has been noted as one of our weak points. 23rd in the NHL as a matter of fact, and it's showing why. Unless the Leafs can clean up their special teams units, we're gonna have a tougher time trying to get back in the series.

Having Nylander out definitely hurts our offensive chances. It also sucks that we're constantly getting out-goalied in just about every playoff series we're in, but still, there's no excuse for the team's offense to perpetually dry up each & every year when it matters most.

I dunno HOW much Nylander would be helping, but he would. That PP for Toronto has been my biggest surprise in this series. It's been abysmal. And when it's generated chances, Swayman has robbed them.

Given that Boston's PK is middle of the road at best, it's been the biggest let down for the Leafs. That said, Toronto is also not using their speed through the neutral zone on breakouts, which baffles me. Boston is a SLOW unit... especially on defense, outside McAvoy. Not sure why Toronto insists on passing and muscling their way through on the breakout every time.

Game 4 is huge. If Boston wins, i don't see Toronto able to come back.

One big reason is because how Treliving has built this team. After Dubas was fired last year, the team's philosophy changed with his departure. Since Treliving took over, the priority has been bringing in more grit & physicality. But in doing so, Toronto has sacrificed some of that speed. To make the best of it, Treliving's additions doesn't appear to do anything to address the team's needs. In fact, they've regressed in some areas, most notably the PK, which was once of one our strenghts, now one of our biggest weaknesses.

A giveaway from Reaves leads to former Leaf, James Van Riemsdyk scoring on them.
Reaves is a waste of space. His huge hits don't mean much when he's terrible in the o-zone and a liability in his d-zone. You don't need the grit. You just threw 100 hits last game. You'll survive without him.

Of course I'd have said the same about JVR before that goal too.

He's a terrible hockey player. He's so much of a liability Keefe has to heavily limit his TOI. Sheldon clearly doesn't trust him enough to give him must ice time, so it leads me to suspect he's instructed to play him every single game. No way in hell does someone like that is given that much leeway without being scratched.

I'm watching the Sportsnet feed, but I did hear a friend say that he lost his shit and said the Leafs would have to kidnap Swayman in order to win, lol.
Yep... also predicted 5 goals. But, yeah... said that they need to kidnap Swayman... and screams a lot... poor Hank..
