someone explain this play to me.

Prof X had made my Hela finish unlikely, but I had a path.

this guy locked down right lane with Prof X, I had nothing on it.

on left lane, I use Magneto to pull Ms Marvel and Wave off of mid to fill his lane. I have magneto, Morbius (with 0 power) and a Vision I got from the location.

left lane 24-20, right lane like 3-0 both to him.

on mid I have Magik and Invisible Woman

turn 7 I know I can play MODOK to take left and maybe mid as well.

then... this calculated effort?

I've barely been playing this season, just been playing the play station a lot more for my gaming time.

But I don't have psylocke so have to rush it all today.

Was in match 4 of an infinite ticket (purchased with medals, I haven't won a gold haha), retreated the first round for 1, then won the next two for 4 and 4 cubes - lovely!

Then he wins 2 cubes. 2 cubes. 2 cubes. 2 cubes.

WE ARE PLAYING THE EXACT SAME DECK TOO.

Thankfully I stopped playing like a twat and won the last game right as work started, haha.

I had such a great game against a Galactus player a couple days ago but didn't get a screenshot.

Aunt may's is the middle location, and I've built up some power in the left lane. They play wave on turn 3 into Aunt May's and snap. Wave gets the plus 3 and slides in the right lane.

They have priority and I know who's coming and know he's going mid since Galactus won't be ahead left. I snap, Galactus fires but I played Prof X mid. Prof gets the +3 and I'm up 6 to 5 in a locked down lane.

They play Jeff into the lane on 5 and are up 8 to 6. I stick around because I have fucking Jeff to and play him on 6 to win the 8 cuber.

I had Jeff on 5 but held him back since playing him out early is poor cube equity. If I play Jeff on 5 and they know they can't beat it and can retreat and only lose 4. By holding mine for 6, they couldn't retreat after seeing they were dead.

My recent game vs a galactus player was dropping infinaut where he was going to play galactus after wave, and then iron, and then he retreated.

Another time I was winning in the other two lanes, I knew galactus was coming on a lane we both left empty (jottenheim or something like that), so I played living tribunal in another lane. It gave me enough in the empty lane that galactus didn’t activate when he flipped. That was fun

the hipp one you use is a cute card for sure.

but lock down into alioth is overtuned and there's not enough you can do to play around it. that's the bit that i am getting over.

when you combine that with how many decks alioth goes into as well, it's got to go. same as chavez.
Lockdown Alioth is pretty rough but it's also very predictable in my experience.

Best bet is for players to get used to seeing the signs and knowing when to GTFO. Turn it into another 1 Cube Wonder deck and people will move one.

I stopped playing this game months ago, but this thread just won't shut up. Makes me want to redownload it just to feel like I'm participating...
The good thing about this game is that it's forgiving if you don't play all the time. As long as you mostly clear your dailies each day, which takes very little time imo, you can then keep up and just play when you feel like it.

Having people to talk about it with is nice too.

Hell, I've been skipping heaps of days lately and it's still fine.

Me again, just checking back in. I got to Infinity really quickly last season on account of pulling Destroyer. I'm up to 1,064 now, and have just pulled Zola and Doom. So I'm using these now:

Doom Deck; Iceman, Nightcrawler, Squirrel Girl, Sinister, Lizard, Mr F, Storm, White Tiger, Blue Marvel, Sandman, Doom, Odin

Zola/Loki Deck; Agent 13, Maria, Collector, Sentinel, Storm, Cable, Moon Girl, Jessica Jones, Loki, White Queen, Devil Dinosaur, Zola

That second deck in particular is just bankrolling the wins for me at this level. I have to be actively unlucky not to win with it given there are so many routes I can take. And basically all the cards that were causing me the odd problem, such as Alioth, have now been nerfed. Happy days.

I'm just considering which pool three card I should be targeting from the freebie. Mystique has just come up, but there isn't an obvious spot for her in those decks. She's nice to have long term though. Not sure there's likely to be an obviously better option. Wong, Death, Venom, Death, Sera, Dracula are others on my radar.

With how hot this game is here, I'm curious since I've always been into card games (since MtG in the 90s).

- Is it F2P friendly or is spending a must? (it can be hard to judge new games in the short vs long term)
- Do you HAVE to play it daily?
- How easy is it to pick up and learn?
- Are there established meta decks or is experimentation encouraged?
1. Very F2P friendly
2. Nope. It's most efficient to play daily, but definitely not necessary.
3. As a fellow MtG veteran I can assure you that you won't have much issue. There's much fewer "keywords" and the old adage "Read The Fucking Card" clears up most issues.
4. At high level (which takes a while to get to) there's typically a few meta decks running the show. The plus side is that often running counter-meta can lead to success. Also the meta typically shakes up about monthly with patches and new seasons.

  • Cheers!

The America Chavez nerf hurts Dracula a bit honestly (she made sure he always had a solid target in hand) so even though he's a fun card, he drops a bit as a priority IMO
Still has a home with apocalypse discard. Especially if you can modok so Apoc is the only card available (just don't have swarm kicking around there)
