Yeah, I saw that and finally figured out how to participate. I made my selections for the ones I was able to.

I'm really hoping the Lions beat the Bills this weekend.

As a former New England fan, I have no love for the Bills.

As someone who almost lost his bye week to Josh Allen's 66 point performance last week, fuck the Bills. :link

I'm leaning Broncos even though the Chargers are the better team imo. The Chargers defense has totally fallen apart against tough teams and have lost a couple important pieces like Hart and Melton. Denver's offense has been decent with Nix and their defense still revolves around Surtain.

The real question will be if Harbaugh understand simple logic on offense. Your QB is limited by an ankle injury and will not have mobility. Your outside WRs are trash and the one with more red zone targets will be locked up by Surtain. You have absolutely no run game with Dobbins out because you refuse to use Vidal. (Remember Harbaugh is a run to set up the pass guy.) You need to design quick 3 and 5 step drops and throws to your backs, slot and TE. Play the zones underneath all night because Denver plays man over the top and they are vulnerable over the middle.

If they do that, McConkey and Smartt should have good games and you may put up enough points to win. If you try to press downfield to Johnston or Palmer, you will lose.

Glad we're in agreement. Just need Goff to keep delivering.
Yeah, one good thing about me is I'm not tied to a specific team anymore. When I lived in MA I was a Patriots fan first. Then I moved to Florida and Tom Brady followed me here, so I was a Tampa fan first.

I still root for both those teams but I'm not directly tied to either. My cousin lives in Texas and my parents just visited them, and brought back a Texas hat for me. I follow more players and root for teams with players I like, or in certain matchups. I owe the fantasy gods a Chase jersey because I promised them I'd get one (when I had money) if he scored 40 points in week 14 and got me a bye week.... he scored 50.

I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN FANTASY GODS!

But yeah, I root more for players and will watch any games.

Except the Jets. Fuck the Jets.

i'm just glad we got a fair catch free kick out of it. the first successful one in 48 years! as a fan of random and stupid sports ephemera that thrilled me to see

It's the best way to enjoy the NFL. Otherwise... you turn into Bears fans.
Or a Browns fan.

yeah see i may pledge my allegiance to a team currently circling the drain (panthers) but i can always take solace in the fact that we're not as poor off as the browns. (although i haven't forgotten that the panthers were one of the teams angling hard for deshaun watson however many years ago.) the bears are slightly better off than the panthers, in fact largely BECAUSE of the panthers, but i struggle to think of teams worse off than the panthers other than cleveland. maybe the giants, but they at least have a couple of super bowls to show for the last few decades. maybe the raiders are on the same tier as the panthers but mark davis is a funny-bad owner and not an unfun-bad owner like david tepper or woody johnson. oh yeah the jets lmfao

the bears are slightly better off than the panthers,
To be fair, the Bears fans make this list for the perpetual disappointment their team is. Even when all goes right, they get a franchise QB, draft a superstar WR, trade for an aging but effective slot WR, improve the OLine and DLine, have good young secondary... they make the critical mistake of bringing back Matt Eberflus and being the only losing team in that division and all the hope drained away faster than Diddy's bank account.

At least the Panthers have finally gotten Dave Canales. I was big on him coming into the year, and I'm happy that sitting a few games has seemed to make Bryce Young a better QB. He's still likely considered a bust at this point (and I was NOT high on him coming out of college), but at least he's playing better and looking like a serviceable QB now. If Tepper stays the hell away from any football ops now and lets Canales have his chance for at least a few years, there's hope for the Panthers.

Regarding Davis, I think he's been a decent owner in that he DOESN'T really inject himself into the football ops. And now he has Brady for perspective. I think the Raiders will be fine with some changes, but sorry, Antonio Pierce is out of his element as a head coach.

Woody Johnson... forget it. The Jets are always going to be a joke. Robert Saleh was NOT the issue there, and the Jets played more inspired football with Zach Wilson, which should tell you who the issue is. I don't have a lot of hope for the Jets. I think the right coach is a start, as is finding a good QB... but if Woody doesn't stay out of it, same shit is going to befall them and they are wasting the careers of Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner. There's a reason most players don't stay beyond their rookie contracts there.

Super glad I missed that disaster of a professional football game. 9 total points, 0 scored in the second half. No touchdowns. 2022 Iowa would have scored more points.
It had to be one of the worse football games I've ever "watched." Wasn't a defensive battle either. And I'd blame the weather, but these two QBs looked completely inept. These two head coaches looked completely overmatched by a twig. And I feel for the Bears fans. Enduring losing like that.

On the bright spot my opponent started Keenan Allen and Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the championship, so I benefitted form that!

thursday night games suck 95% of the time like i know nfl likes money but they need to either pick better games to showcase on thursdays or just stop doing them

The issue is the contracts. Amazon paid a fuck ton for Thursday games, and their presentation is arguably the best of any channel. I personally LOVE Prime Vision. Every team is required to play at least one prime time game per season. The max is 5-6 games per team. Of course the teams with the highest draw are going to get most of the prime slots. But once used up, you still need to fill with the rest of the crap in the league. And this late in the season, you start to see more of it so the week 18 divisional clashes that determine so much can be prime slotted.

Not to mention week 17 is always this bad because it's the penultimate week and the first where college football is no longer under contract for Saturday. So the NFL books 3 prime time games on Saturday. Add Christmas to this week and there are 8 of 16 games in prime time slots. 10 if you count the fact that there is only one 4pm game on both CBS and Fox (it's blacked out in some places, so I don't).

The blackout sucked. I wasn't able to watch the Lions or the Bengals play because of restrictions.

I just don't understand the mentality of blacking out games. It's archaic. The original purpose was to encourage people to go TO the games if the games were blacked out on TV. Maybe that's useful when tickets were $50. Not so much when the same tickets are $600.

Not to mention, the FCC effectively banned blackout in like... 2015 or something, and the NFL basically said, "Nah, we're enforcing them through contracts."

It doesn't drive people to the games, so I'm not sure why they continue with them. It actually drives viewership down. And in the information technology world we live in now... it's super simple to use VPNs to get around that garbage anyway.

Yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense. I'm not going to fly to Detroit to watch the Lions play, nor is it feasible to try to drive to Michigan from Mississippi. Nor am I going to try to make it to the Bengals game.

Pickens is trash. He'd be pretty good if he wasn't a self absorbed ass like AB was. Why can't the Steelers draft WRs that aren't total chodes? They need to draft more Hines Ward type players.
I very very much dislike the Steelers.

But at least AB had several very good seasons before becoming a TOTAL chode. His first contract extension really brough out the full diva.

Pickens has acted like he's Jettas or Chase since he was drafted. And he isn't close.
