I have no idea what they were doing. They went for the two extra points instead of the guaranteed one. Then they kept throwing it downfield in the hopes of a pass going through - which it didn't.

Vikings got a blessing in disguise. If Darnold hadn't flamed out the last two games, they were probably going to pay him some type of contract to stay while they develop that QB they drafted last year. They were saying like $40 million a year.

All I could think watching the game and seeing Darnold wide-eyed and in disbelief is him probably thinking he cost himself $150 million from someone. I felt bad for him. He was clearly in over his head once the games became important. I no longer have that rabid fan sense in me that would find it funny. I just see a kid making an improbable turnaround all year and then crash and burn.

I think the outcome with Darnold would have been identical either way, personally.

I would bet @shortkut's left testicle that they exclusive franchise tag him. It still will be $40 mil, but if QB needy teams that aren't (likely) going to get a QB in the draft like the Raiders or Giants want to pay Darnold, they will need to give up two firsts to the Vikings to sign him. Which gives the Vikings trade leverage to those teams. Additionally, it gives another year of Darnold to have JJ backing him up. It's EXTREMELY unlikely they simply hand the reigns to JJ with him not playing a snap this year.

Darnold's situation is exactly what the tag SHOULD be for. Tag and trade, negotiation window and bridging.

I just glanced at the NFL schedule for this upcoming weekend. The NFC actually seems kind of interesting, but the AFC looks like the same old boring shit.

The exception (in the AFC) will be Houston and Buffalo winning. I don't see either as likely, but man I wish.

In the NFC, it's the Lions/Commanders game I want to see. Imagine saying this 5 years ago.

I mean, they call roughing the passer on Mahomes when he was barely touched and then the Chiefs beat the shit out of Stroud and not a single roughing the passer call.

You have to admit, what Daniels has done with really... not a good team around him... has been special this year.
They groomed him REALLY well at the start of the season. They played conservative football that was easy for a rookie to get accustomed to and limited chances for dumb rookie mistakes. Sure, they took the training wheels off and you could see the rook in him, but I think they put him in a really good position to succeed.

While that'strue, he came into the season with a terrible cast around him. To go from the second worst team to the NFC championship game in one season when they have a near bottom defense and one legit receiver and only bit players everywhere else... This team completely changed and it's strictly because of Daniels and Quinn. Good for them I say.

A good receiver and the Patriots could be next, next season.

Hoping he is one of those one season rookie wonders that doesnt adjust once the league has a year of tape on him. I doubt it, and it isnt personal, but rather him not be great and in the Giants' division

That trick play that resulted in an interception was just stupid. I quit watching when they threw that third or fourth interception that resulted in a touchdown.
While I love Campbell's aggressiveness and the fact he lets his coordinators do their thing, at some point you have to buckle down and play smart football.

That pass by Jamo was absolutely stupid down by 14. He needed to either throw that away or carry it OOB. Quinn is a smart defensive coach and all he had to do was play smart football. The Lions sadly beat themselves. Goff reverted to Rams Goff. Campbell and Johnson both hurt their stock. And they wasted a great season.

I think the Giants will be ok. They need to be smart, pick someone like Ewers in the 2nd or 3rd, sign a bridge QB like Cousins for a year and let Ewers develop and then profit. They have a good enough defense, an elite WR option, a good young TE and a good RB. They'll be able to turn it around with half decent QB play.

I've seen a few clips of the officiating in the Chiefs/Texans game and was reminded why I can't get too invested anymore.

Brutal.
Chiefs are the team of destiny.

And by that I mean they are the team that's going to win the super bowl because the NFL wants it to say they are THEY dynasty and not the Patriots because of the cheating allegations.

The Chiefs are NOT a good team. They should have been 10-7 at best this season. Buffalo AND Baltimore should both be able to beat the snot out of them. And the Chiefs will win because of their "magic." Mark my words.

They can't though. Mahomes has had a down year. As has Kelce. The WR are caca and their offense isn't as explosive as years past. They can't put up 30 points anymore. Their defense has been good, but if they meet an offensive team, refs are the ones keeping them in it. Case in point, Houston.

They just do what they need to do

I bet they turn it on for the afc championship game

We shall see. I hope they get obliterated by Buffalo.

Because I would rather Buffalo win than Baltimore.

Fuck Baltimore.

Sorry @Mark

You won’t hear me singing their praises. Ravens had more felons on payroll than the White House there for a while.

I should dislike Baltimore, feel bad for Browns fans, but since Lamar went to Louisville, really find myself rooting for them

Cleveland was a sacrifice after the Mayflower left Baltimore for Indianapolis.

I read that in Frank Caliendo’s Madden voice
Half of that grass is real, an-nd half of it is fake. But Brett Favre is all real. Brett Favre is greatest player in the world. You could cut off both his arms, both his legs and he'd still be the best torso in football. He can throw a football 200 yards underwater. I can't even throw a football 1 yard underwater [200 minu-] that's 199 more yards Brett Favre can throw a football underwater. And he can hit any target he wants. That's why if you put Brett Favre in Afghanistan *BOOM*, he'd hit Osama Bin Laden.

The Packers don't want to get rid of Brett Favre. They need Brett Favre because Brett Favre is the Brett Favre of Brett Favreness and without Brett Favre they wouldn't have Brett Favre, an-n-n-nd that's what that's all about.

Did you see how they beat the shit out of Stroud and the refs called none of it? Some of the tackles were after Stroud had released the football and the tacklers were not already in the process of tackling.
