From when I was shadow, I got the feeling people usually say in advance when they want it to kick in to avoid that. So I'd say it's not meta gaming since it can easily lead you astray, but that's just my opinion.

I'm not saying sacrificing a wolf isn't a play, but wouldn't it have made more sense for the wolves to give a fake red on two townies, as they had a shadow going on too. Kat would've died instead of dimmer, and with that they probably would've not heck up the shadow vote.
