I will say the wolves brought some of the night 1 bad luck upon themselves. Out of all the roles, where does Spirit Seer rank in terms of value? Doctor and Instigator are off the table since the instigated wolf would never let you vote them anyways.
Counter point: That same Spirit Seer role was the catalyst to the beginning of the end.

You can say "this is how the wolves should've played" all you want and it's easy to as you sit back in your GM chair watching it unfold when you know all the roles already - being in it?

It's a completely different feeling.

I feel for the wolf teams in this.

I've said since the first game of yours and I'll continue to say it - the odds are stacked in favour of the town.

And then we have Fool's Requiem. Ooh boy. He comes walking right into the town, one eyebrow is inexplicably arched and the village just wonders what is wrong with his face. He's smelling the air - it's almost like, he's trying to find out what that is that's cooking?? Is it cookies? Is that smell from the cemetery seeping in? Oh, no, it must have been what HE was cooking. The town looks at him dumbfounded. WHO'S GOING TO CAST THE FIRST STONE HE SAYS. The village shrugs. FR buries his face into his hand, C'MON GUYS. He leans to the ground and pulls out a rock, he turns and looks at Raine...

"Hey Raine, who you voting for" - she goes to speak BUT FR WHIPS THE ROCK AT HER FACE, WTF!? "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO YOU VOTE FOR!!" he screams. The town horrified watches poor concussed Raine walking around, and they still have no clue what he's on about. FR comes clean, guys, if Raine is who she says, I MESSED UP. They don't get it..

FR, fed up, goes and finds a dictionary. Tosses it on the ground and tells the town to read something. He walks away, PERSONALLY - I'm surprised he didn't tell them to turn the dictionary sideways and shove it straight up their candy asses, but that's just me...
This was great.

I was definitely a little frustrated by no one getting my hints until I made it super obvious.

  • Cheers!

Well I'm gonna make adjustments obviously. And then in that next game if the evils play by the golden rules and win on Day 2 it'll be okay, because everyone will then know what to do. So I'm willing to let it happen.

Spirit Seer has no hard counter

No counter at all, zero plausible deniability

If you red, you dead. If not immediately, the next day

Multiple Spirit Seers covers the land in death

Nobody is playing the game you’re balancing for

More coherent tonight(tm)

Maybe not ‘cause AC6 in mailbox

Weekend why you no here?!

I'm not trying to be god and judge everyone saying "If only you had known this, you would win..." BUT

But I do feel like a broken record saying "LOOK, if you want to win, DO THESE THREE THINGS" after every game. And then the next game happens, none of the three things get done, the wolves lose and people say "Oh, it was hopeless". That's frustrating.

It's like I'm telling you guys the Konami Code in Contra and you are bravely trying to win without it. Sure, it's POSSIBLE, but WHY

I haven't read everything yet but I will say I came out guns firing and claiming Spirit Seer because Zell has said time and again the wolves have to come out swinging with false role claims so I was trying to stop that idea from having a chance to happen.
Which is hilarious cause initially I thought you were making a big balls Instigator play.

I couldn't risk that this would be the time people would actually listen to you
Coleman has basically told me that it won't happen. I'm a slow learner so it's taken me six games to believe him.

So I'm going to majorly rebalance roles for the next game. If it turns out to be too much, we can deal with that then.

I fully intended to go with the Zell strategy if I was evil, but alas.

Instead I tried to dictate the conversation of the game from the onset and I think I set the table pretty well for the cleanest town win yet. Some super clutch moves from other townsfolk (and balance conversations) are always going to overshadow it, but I'm super happy with how I played.

There's a concept in Poker called "First In Vigorish". It basically says that simply be virtue of being first, you don't have to be as strong as anybody else. I think that applies a lot in this game too, basically the FIRST person to make any sort of claim or offer information has been treated like the voice of God.

You did good

If you didn’t get me, I was super going to get you

My biggest mistake* was thinking Day 1 would end in no lynch ‘cause y’all too damn passive and that I could use the time to invent myself and get a proper lay of the land

Game opened at like 9pm, I was still posting elsewhere til like 10:30 :shrug

ANYWAY MORE COHERENT LATER

Yeah.

I think Local legit did a great job in trying to claim my role and make me look bad but that concept does a lot of heavy lifting.

Plus once he claimed Spirit Seer I knew I'd get another check in because killing me would just out him...which is still a major issue I see with the wolves claiming immediately. The moment the role they claim is killed, they're basically outed.

My biggest strategy that is one main reason I rarely get night killed early is that I'm always a little bit suspicious. Baddies usually see me as a possible town lynch.

There's other things I do on purpose but I'm not outing all my secrets yet.

Well, except for the random villagers. Your role got killed night 1 in this game!

Ok so I've learned from you and TD that I should prioritize the guaranteed roles and the random ones.

Best role claim I've seen yet was Benzine the Bell Ringer. I do think random is the way to go.
I don't think it matters too much. But if you claim a fixed role, essentially you are ALSO claiming a random role, right? Say you claim doc, and the doc dies. Now you are claiming to be a random villager, you just didn't know that there were "two docs".

Excuse me but most everyone believed I was legitimately the aura seer in the game where you set all the wolves on fire.

It helped that I had the same power and aura though, but everyone knew it was a possibility.

Also I hadn't even seen the thread until after the Raine Train was underway and there was no turning back. If there was a way to get the shadow to not kick off, I would have tried to do that, but it was Tubby's and he had planned for it to kick off while he was sleeping.

Local also accidentally almost wolf seered another wolf right at the beginning of the game though.

I also was unfortunately not able to read as clearly to start things off as I had in previous games and missed the fact that spirit seer wasn't guaranteed this time.

Ants! and shortkut have an uncanny ability to somehow pick each other using numbers.
We’re destined somehow lol. But seriously I was like: shortkut if I can name somebody, 6 if have to pick a number.

Shortkut was 6.
Just to be clear, if the evils vote together they will outvote the villagers. Even if Ants! with 2x votes on the village side.

I doubt they will pull it off though.
Maybe my math is off, but wouldn’t that have made it 10v10, with Holly breaking the tie in our favor?
If he voted prior to the shadowing, it should just have been displayed in the vote tally like it was yesterday?

A better question - why did he think Smacktard was going to die? I understand shortkut. But...
Because he and Vash claimed seers and were instrumental in bringing you down, but Vash’s claim was weaker (last remaining of the three randoms) and wolves were already casting suspicion at him so I expected they hoped to save him for an easy lynch. That only left Kelly.
He does, and what I don't understand is: WHY REVEAL IT WHY TELL WHY
I didn’t expect there to be a second shadow. Also why does it matter?
I don't think he voted pre-shadow.
I did, but I wasn’t expecting a second shadow (and wouldn’t seem to matter anyway).
Ants providing a breakdown on role claims and missed like three of em.
Literally the only thing I got wrong was Jawneh and Tubby flipped. I’ve been reading the dead thread and you’ve been wrong on like 70% of your guesses. Lol
"Jawneh said something really suspicious that definitely makes them sound like a wolf

So anyway, we all voting Alu or what?"

WHAT THE FUCK THE TOWN DOIN

Was Ants instigated with Jawneh? That's the only way I can explain this madness
Because with the shadow wolf power in play, the only thing that mattered was unification in the vote. We already had the wolves and the instigator pegged, what did it matter which order we killed them?
Place your bets everyone!?

Will it be Jawneh!? Local Hero!? Vash!? Benzine!? Someone else!?
Why on earth would we have lynched Benzine? Or were you thinking the wolves would have won the vote and picked him?
So unfortunate because Jawneh and I deduced every role before Day 1 ended
Dude, the whole town had figured out all the roles before day 1 ended.
No I mean that Holly flipped sorry haha
I think Local’s sudden and frantic attempt to peel a vote away from Jawneh with 2 minutes left might have swayed her to him instead. It’s what decided it for me that he was wolf, definitively. Maybe she felt the same.
Finally gets one wrong!
Nope! I picked Benzine, and if it weren’t for the flagger I’d have x4 voting power today. Lol
Ants? He guessed a lot of kills correctly and was influential in making sure the town out-voted the wolves.

Edit: Vash is a good candidate too. He found all the wolves.
Shortkut was random, but yours and Benzine’s I made an educated guess :)
