Tbf it was a perfect scenario for us that game cause we had seered Alu and knew for sure.

It was extremely believable, but issues with the whole guaranteed vs. RV roles. Once it was determined that there were no more Random roles to go around the fingers got pointing.

Definitely was strong as a play (which is why I had suggested you to be the first Shadow target...which oddly would have been a perfect choice based on your role in this game too).

I agree, I don’t necessarily think it was concrete or greatest role claim or anything - I agree that going fixed roles is best.

But you don’t need your lies to last forever. You can get to certain spots and let the game mechanics sort the rest.

This game goes differently if Alu isn’t such a productive member of society. All good though.

I was trying to get the wolves to come after me with a night kill by being vaguely threatening, although then that would have killed Tommy (sorry Tommy), and he is the one that cleared me so who knows what happens after that

Now that enough time has passed from when the original comment was made, I want to call this out:

jokes: calling everyone idiots for being stupid.

No one likes anything about the first one either - it's not joking, it's just demeaning in what's supposed to be a fun game. I've had complaints about it privately. That should stop in every game moving forward. We didn't have any of it this time around and we all felt much better for it post game. There's a reason TD was called out before when he was in character in game.

We should just play these games as what they are: fun games to play with your friends. Insulting each other over the internet is always risky business because you can't tell tone or how people on the other side are doing so far that day in terms of how they might respond differently to something than they normally would.

Even if it's "in character" that level of aggressiveness probably doesn't have a place in the game.

Absolutely.

And it's really been a similar thought each game. I know a couple people have quit, and others have expressed unhappiness at how their performance is portrayed by those outside the group but otherwise have kept with it. But like... more often than not, I don't think they're wrong? Like even if they shored up the weak spots, reduced mistakes to zero, I still don't think victory was possible from a practical perspective in the games I participated in/actually paid attention to. (So, not the last one and a half or so)

I couldn't blame folks like Dean if they never played again. Even if it was their fault - and it's not - throwing out insults doesn't make anything better.

I don't like it. Bullying irks me.

I'll also say - one tactic of "in game play" I'm genuinely not a fan of is continually and aggressively battering someone for play in a previous game or calling them a bad player. If you mention it once or twice in jest and it's related to what's happening in game - fine. But to see it posted in every other post and it's the entire argument against someone it gets redundant and I can imagine it can be discouraging.

Definitely chaffed @canadaguy harder than I meant to, trying to goad the wolves into killing me.

Have missed the mark with trying to encourage @Fool's Requiem because of how hard he was getting battered by others.

You're probably gonna mess up plenty without the blatant insults.

I try to speed read threads and I miss a lot of stuff. However, I don't speed read them, I'll get bored and/or it'll take a long time... and even then, I'll still miss shit.

At the end of the day - mistakes or not, as long as you're having fun then that's what counts.

If something happens to take away from that fun, step away for a bit and come back when you're ready.

As an outside observer this time, I was happy to see no "drama" and it makes it encouraging to join up sooner again.

I was on Dean's team during that game and also received a message from him privately after the game.
I won't share what was said as it's private but he had his reasons for taking a break. It's unfortunate we haven't seen him here since as I think he's a good player and a fun guy to talk to.

Yeah, I believe that particular post was kayfabe, he knew he was cooked and tried throwing me (and another, maybe Holly?) under the bus to save the remaining wolves.

He later posted about all of the comments that were calling the wolves dumb, idiots, etc. - and that felt/was very sincere.

Anyway, the fact people started being assholes in the end was just annoying. If I wanted to feel irritated with people and be called stupid, I wouldn't have played the fucking game to begin with. So yeah, I'm probably not playing again. Have fun. Hopefully Zell's tweaks make it a little more even.

If folks haven't been wolves yet, then: You really, really don't understand how hard this is. If Cole and TD, with an assist from Alu and myself, couldn't win - then, in my mind, it simply isn't possible. Not with how we collectively play.
