You have all leveled up!
To do this on D&D Beyond, first you want to select "Manage" next to your character portrait.
Then you will choose "Manage Character & Levels"
There you will see the Character Builder you may remember from creating your character. There is a dropdown field where you will select your new level.
After you select Level 2, it will auto-populate additional fields below with any class features you may have unlocked. Also you may need to select "Spells" and see if you get to choose new spells along with your new level.
Its been a very long time since I've gotten to level one of my own characters, so if you have any questions, we can work this out together.

Would you prefer we do average or roll for it?Pretty sure when you choose the new level, it will auto-add your new HP based on the average HP gain for your class.
You should be able to click on that field and manually override it if you want to roll for it?
Or is it up to us?

If that’s the case, then I think I did it rightPretty sure stats don't increase with level ups aside from HP.

Dude is doomed to a life of trying to keep her alive. Is respec a thing?
Hey now, I have 11 HP. That's... that's almost respectable for a lv1!Dude is doomed to a life of trying to keep her alive.
I mean I could try doing a manual roll on the HP... roll a nat1, -1 CON modifier, still 7 HP @ lv2. But what are the odds, really?

How do you roll for hp?Okay I think I figured it out.
I rolled for hp and got a 6, so I now have 20hp.
I added sleep so I can sing some lullabies.

So I was doing some digging and it looks like most (if not all classes) get "ability score improvement" by level 4, which if I understand correctly allows you to boost stats.I thought my stats are supposed to increase
Shit's gonna get complicated.
Worth noting, too, that if you keep Rogue at lv3 and use 4th level to multiclass dip into something else, you're then apparently delaying the ASI/Feat until 5th level. And with ASI, there are breakpoints that lead to proficiency so YMMV when and how things are worth doing, depending on other things.
Ability Score Improvement
When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can’t increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
Using the optional feats rule, you can forgo taking this feature to take a feat of your choice instead.

Yep that's one of the tradeoffs for multiclassing; you're exchanging that consistent ASI Upgrade or Feat gain with just leveling another class instead. You can still get ASI/Feats but you gotta hit the actual level for it per class I thinkShit's gonna get complicated.

I think I know what the half circles mean but I just want to confirm, it's the boost from Jack of All Trades I'm guessing?

It tells you if you can to a roll for that ability on a full moon, half moon, or crescent moon@VashTheStampede

I'm literally playing Persona 3 right now so that sounded very plausible. It tells you if you can to a roll for that ability on a full moon, half moon, or crescent moon
Pretty sure that's right.@VashTheStampede

Where are the horses, again?Hey Dragmire, think we can use your invisible servant to drag these crates??
There were horses besides the ones with Tuberius, right? I'm not hallucinating?

I knew we tried to tame them, but I don’t remember what happened after that or if they would even be waitingWe took the two horses with us... so... maybe outside the cave?

We 100% took them with us when we split from Tuberius.I knew we tried to tame them, but I don’t remember what happened after that or if they would even be waiting

It’s funny because you’re actually making plans for how your character will actNotes are for nerds, anyway. Who needs them when you have the Dice?!
No notes, no planning, all according tokeikakurandom chance.
Maybe we should have kept Klarg alive, and attached a yoke so he could pull it for us

So funny storyWhenever I read the name of the new chapter I can't help but think of Big Trouble in Little China...
Big Trouble in Little Phandalin confirmed?
Also, Kurt Russell in the GIF has at least 3 levels in monk to use the Deflect Missiles ability...
One of the rules I made when we were naming our son was that the name had to be something that a Kurt Russell character could be named.
Jack was too common though, so it didn't make the cut.
Should have gone with Snake.
