Those are the only teams (broken up by region) that I could see making the sweet 16 or beyond without things getting weird. Granted, that's a lot of teams, but it's definitely not 14 teams (Texas was already knocked out in the play-in game).


The ACC is on the way to having two teams go down in as many games with Clemson doing bad. Duke and UNC would be the only ones left, with only Duke having a legit shot at anything.

In hindsight, naming my bracket 100% Guaranteed Picks wasn't my finest idea. I have learned a lesson in humility and will no doubt forget it before next year.

BYU is historically decent, but usually doesn't make big runs. They had Jimmer a while back and he helped do some great things for them.

I forgot Arkansas had coach Cal now, so they're likely to over perform, sadly.

Also I only realised earlier today that college games are shorter and lower scoring than NBA games leading me to quickly reduce my tiebreaker prediction.

40 minutes instead of 48, and lower scoring because they're not as accurate.

On my first run through my bracket, I had Drake beating Missou. I changed it for my second run through. I should have stuck with my heart on that one. Picking against Gonzaga was dumb. I don't watch basketball and I still know that Gonzaga is a constant power player in this tourney.

On the plus side, both the Kansas and Missou games are still close enough for anyone to win.

To be fair, Gonzaga struggled in the regular season compared to what they normally do. But the whole SEC is likely a bit overrated.

Which also explains Mizzou. I picked Drake because they're no stranger to upsets in the tournament.

Hell yeah.

UCSD is going to be a giant someday. They only just became D1. They're a potential major player in college basketball, being a UC in a basketball rich area of the country. Viable alternative to UCLA, USC, and SDSU. They'll probably quickly take over from UCI in the Big West. Though those two should hopefully get a good rivalry going for a while.
