He's a big old baby and he is fine, just doing his check up and apparently he is lost weight since last year so we'll take that as a win

We try to tell him the vet's very nice and just wants to make sure you're okay and he does not believe us, he actually peed on my wife when she was trying to get him in the carrier
Still, it's never fun to see the doctor.

Yeah, both of my cats are really fluffy. I love them. As for the treatment, we're getting him in to see an oncologist next week. Hopefully the treatment will be both something he will respond to and something that is affordable.

Oh yeah say that again.
The looks I get on dog walks isn't nice at times.. sometimes people pick their dog up to walk past me.

It's the dog owner, not the dog!
So true, it's like Pit bulls here, so horribly misrepresented here, people are so terrified of them and they're so, so sweet! It's all about how you raise them, if you raise them well they're just cute, sweet dogs!

XL bullies are a big thing in the USA as well right? Or are they called something different over there?
Lovely looking dogs, I've stroked a few of them and there friendly just hypo.

Again.. it's the people who own these dogs that make them nasty.

Yep, got all kinds of bullie mixes, some absolutely gigantic bullies and that makes people terrified, but no matter what when you see any of the mix bullies they're all gentle giants. It's always the asshole owners that make them nasty, it's never, ever the dog itself that's been violent. They're so, so common in the shelters here because people abandon them, people are scared of them and don't adopt them, and it's so common to see them get to the point of being euthanized because they don't get adopted. It's the worst thing. I hate that misunderstanding.

My wife and I have four cats (also an axolotl). When we met we each had two cats. We temporarily had five when we got a new adolescent boy cat for Christmas a year ago which we named Yoshi, following the Mario theme my wife had in naming her two girl cats Peach and Daisy. Yoshi is a VERY BAD CAT knocking over glasses and scratching up furniture and getting into things he's not supposed to, but he's so good at looking cute and adorable that we don't care lol. What's funny to us is that apparently before we had adopted him, he had already been adopted and returned by somebody else, and the lady who returned him left a comment "I can't handle this cat!!" 😂

Unfortunately, Yoshi had brought with him a little kitty cold and got the other cats sick with it. My wifes cats are still pretty young so they survived. My girl cat Fancy (the name she already had when I adopted her as a kitten and I liked it so I kept it) is the oldest one, currently 14 years old, but avoided the sickness because I had to make her an outside cat. My daughters male cat Cocoa would have been about 13 years old right now if he had survived, but the sickness started a decline in him that he never recovered from. We found out he had a bad thyroid, basically a tumor, so he was probably doomed anyway and Yoshi's illness was probably just a catalyst for him to start fading a little sooner. He died, I buried him in the back yard with a nice little tombstone I ordered for him.

We all agreed to let Yoshi become "her" cat rather than consider him a family pet, but he already favored her the most anyway and follows her around the house and sleeps in her bed and she obsesses over him the same way she did for Cocoa, maybe even more actually.

Anyways, as for Fancy, the reason why she is the only one who has to stay outside is because when we first got together and blended families, despite being a tiny runt and easily the smallest cat by far, she still would attack and beat the shit out of my wife's two cats Peach and Daisy. We tried all sorts of methods to try to get them used to each other gradually, like keep them in separate rooms where they sniff each other under the door and so on, but after months of trying it wasn't getting any better, and after one particularly bad fight where we were suddenly and violently woken up by a cat fight explosion erupting between Peach and Fancy right on top of my belly, out Fancy went and she remained outside ever since.

It might be crazy to hear, but despite how much of a violent cunt she is towards other cats, she is easily the sweetest and most affectionate one out of them all when it comes to humans. Always meowing for attention with that little shrill smokers voice. Forcefully rubbing her head against your hand. She always comes running excitedly when I call, she obsesses over me ever since she was a kitten, I'm easily her favorite person in the world. I still remember one time opening my eyes to see hers an inch away from mine, having watched me sleep like some kind of creepy psycho. She's been in my life longer than any of my kids or my wife and ex-wife. She's my baby. I try not to think of how she surely can only have a few years left in her due to her age despite her current good health and vigor. I don't normally get attached to pets but I've had them so long that I did get pretty upset over my daughters cat Cocoa and I'm surely going to be a fucking mess when my Fancy's time comes. Little ball of kitty anxiety that she is.

A few years ago while we were at the renaissance festival, we passed by a shop selling some pretty nice tapestries, some of them had animals on them. I saw one that was so eerily uncanny in its likeness to Fancy that I ended up doubling back to that shop later and buying it. Here's Fancy and her crazy medieval likeness.

Oh, forgot to add one of the reasons I know I am her favorite and she's obsessed over me. If she's cuddling with someone else and I call her, she leaves them and comes to me. But the same never happens in reverse, no one can manage to call her away once she has my attention.
Yep, you're 100% the favourite. Our fur babies know where they're loved the most and they go to that person above anyone else. Not that they're not loved elsewhere, but they always know that one person who loves them most. Makes you feel good when they make the march over, doesn't it? :D

Weird thing is, there have been multiple times over her long life where I had to temporarily home her with somebody else for months at a time. Twice this happened for roughly a year at a time: first when our home flooded and I spent 50 weeks rebuilding it, and again for longer than that when I had to sell that home and live with my parents again until I could fix my credit and save a down payment for my next house. Even now with my wife and I currently separated, she stays there with her and my teen daughter.

Somehow none of that changes her obsession with me and even when she hasn't seen me for a long time she still treats me that way. I often feel bad about it but Life situations keep happening and I don't want to abandon her.

She knows you love her, she knows she loves you. It's that simple in her mind. You're dad. You're love. You're comfort to her. Time, distance, location, none of that matters to her, because once you're there, it's all good.

I don't think that's crazy at all. The cats sweetest towards people are often the meanest towards other cats. I dunno why.

I can relate to this. My cat Jello didn't live with me for years due to a divorce and whatnot, and I've always felt bad about it. I'm sure Fancy is still loved and safe and cared for though, and you're doing what you can. Sometimes life happens and the best thing for them is not to be with us, unfortunately.
