First Game: Oh god, no clue. Could be SMB1, Zelda1, could be a couple different arcade cabinet games, could be an atari knockoff. Or some other thing my dad had.

Most Hours: On record: Team Fortress 2 ~3300 hours. Not recorded possibilities: MapleStory and World of Warcraft. I imagine Maple has a bunch more than the other two.

Hardest Boss Fight: I wanna say Ultima Weapon from FF8, or like Ozma from 9. Moonlord in Terraria was kind of tough.

Currently Playing: Classic WoW Hardcore. I've gotten into a kick of punishing games. Probably why I also like playing Tarkov.

first game: probably super mario bros or duck hunt even as a 2000’s kid my family had a NES so growing up I played it quite a bit

Most Hours: probably one of the mlb:the show games or minecraft

Toughest Boss: this one is a bit trickier since I mainly played sports games growing up and even now as an adult i play mostly sports games though i do have other games i play but idk if there’s anything with challenging bosses. this might be a bit of a cop out but there were some others that were so i’m counting it. the Elite 4 in one of the older pokemon games i know that probably sounds funny but when you’re a kid and don’t know what you’re doing it fan be tough. hell sometimes even now as an adult idk what i’m doing so I’m counting it

Currently playing: right now vampire survivors though me and my friend just started a minecraft server so that too

I vaguely recall one of the Madden games having some sort of gauntlet mode - that is the only thing I can think of for a boss in a sports game.

Gonna chime in with the other stats.

First Game: Super Mario/Duck Hunt on the NES. That would be my first console game, but my first actual video game was played on an arcade machine.

Most Hours: GTA San Andreas definitely has to be at the top of that list, along with Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth.

Toughest Boss: Ruby & Emerald Weapon from FF7.

there was the minicamp mode they introduced in 2003--some of the gold trophies were pretty difficult to clear. NFL Street (god rest its soul) also had some good boss-like encounters

currently playing for me? well i just finished my platinum journeys of like a dragon: ishin! and sonic x shadow generations. after i finish a particularly involved plat or 100% i generally have to take a minute before throwing myself fully into something else. there are a couple of games i'm playing along with my household like Dragon Age: Inquisition and The World Ends With You and those are both fun

Currently Playing: I picked up FFXVI again from the library to finish playing it. I was about 70% through and was honestly pretty critical of it. But this final stretch is actually quite good. The game just has way too many low points because of all of the filler.

I'm also playing Remnant 2 once in a while with a friend as her and I move through a co-op playthrough.

Lmao I think i was 64% done when I just picked it back up

Also samesies on Remnant 2 but my group gets together so infrequently that I didn't consider listing it.

First Game: If we're not counting arcade stuff it was *probably* Mario or Duck Hunt on the NES. Whichever a friend wanted to show me first lmao

Most Hours in a Game: It's either WoW or FF14. I don't have exact hours for WoW at this point but given a significant portion of my WoW time would have been in my late teens/early twenties when I could literally spend all day doing shit I'm pretty sure WoW is the winner and it's not particularly close despite not touching it since the Battle for Azeroth launch window.

Hardest Boss: I'm going to go with Orphan of Kos from Bloodborne because that's the motherfucker that immediately came to mind.

Currently Playing: Both Spider-Man 2 (PS5) and Trails Through Daybreak

First game: Super Mario Bros, remember going over to our neighbor and playing it.

Most Hours in a Game: Ooh, tough one. Probably one of the games I've replayed a bunch of times, like FFVII or Chrono Trigger.

Hardest Boss: Ruby or Emerald Weapon from FFVII, or maybe Culex from Super Mario RPG

Currently Playing: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

Games That Deserve a Remake: Chrono Trigger, especially after seeing that fan made AI trailer.

Remake: Zelda 2 would probably be cool in the new style they did Links Awakening in. Though probably not a lot of game there.

More seriously, I loved the mechanics of Lost Kingdom. Tried replaying it somewhat recently, but the tank controls immediately put me off lol. None of that please.

Games that deserve a remake:

Idk, probably an acclaimed retro game stuck on an obscure system which never got a remake or re-release, like Snatcher, Panzer Dragoon Saga, or Popful Mail

But like... I'd really love a Morrowind remake 👀

I too am going with Smacktard's answer

Morrowind is my answer, it still plays okay today, but has a lot of jank

and my other choice was gonig to be a Saturn game, Shining Force 3 complete , but his other Sega choices are also great

Game that deserves a Remake: I think I'm going to be another that says FFVI, but I also say it with some amount of caution. I wouldn't want an FFVII style remake where it just becomes super bloated with dramatic story changes. I would want something more faithful.

I also saw this recently:

game that deserves a remake: having finally finished my first full playthrough of fire emblem: genealogy of the holy war, it absolutely needs a remake and official localization. i've been asking for a remake for well over a decade now but now maybe that i've actually finished the game myself the wheels have been greased for that.

apart from that there are another few games that are currently gamecubelocked right now that i would love to see get remade even if it will for sure definitely never happen. eternal darkness: sanity's requiem. cubivore. kirby air ride.

Game that Deserves a Remake: I know it would be a massive undertaking, but I'm gonna go with Final Fantasy VI. It still holds up for us old-heads but with all the attention 7 has gotten, it would be cool to see a new audience get a chance to play a good game. :link

My favorite game of all time, Im happy with how it is, I would totally play a remake assuming it's not milked like the VII remake is (nor the story changes), but overall I think it's great how it is

It's my #2 game of all time lol

Oh this is fun. Time to catch up!

First game: Elevator Action on NES. I played it at my neighbor's house before I got my NES for Christmas that came with Super Mario/Duck Hunt.

Most Hours in a Game: Purely guessing here, GTA 4. I think I played it online so much that the hours would have been over 300.

Hardest Boss: Charon in Hades. I still haven't beat him and have pretty much given up trying.

Currently Playing: Nothing :( ...Not sure what to play until I get Astro Bot for Christmas.

Games That Deserve a Remake: Final Fantasy 6. I wanted that more than a 7 remake. Chrono Trigger would be awesome, too, but it feels more modern and polished than 6.

Metaphor: ReFantazio - Currently taking a break from this one as the story hits a little too close to home after the recent US election. It's  very good though.

Yup, I can't believe how realistic and intouch with modern times a crazy fantasy RPG could be but damn, it did. It adds to the impact it has received, too, which is why some people have it as the game of the year. It's definitely my choice right now. It didn't disappoint at all, at any point.

Currently Playing: Astrobot and Lego Horizon Adventures

Game that deserves a remake: I dunno, but maybe Infamous on current gen hardware could look pretty fucking dope

Game that deserves a remake: Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers - I remember everyone I know loving this game when it came out. I haven't played it in years, and I'm sure it would feel too dated for a simple port.

My other choice would be Brutal Legend - they should keep the core of the game intact and just remove the RTS elements.

That game has a pretty baller sequel/reimagine on the Saturn. It's totally over the top in a really campy awesome way. I have a copy waiting for me back in Canada to grab.

Holy hell, yes! I can see a game in the style of God of War but you control Aragorn/Legolas/Gimli.

Or better yet, I'd love a huge Lord of the Rings game that does the movies proud. I know there are many LOTR games, but I'm not really a fan of the genres they used. Middle Earth games were the closest to something I'd play, but I want a narrative heavy LOTR game.

Currently playing: Random assortment of games on multiple consoles looking for something that sticks out and makes me want to play. I'd play Ranger X more if I could save after each level.

Games that need a remake: There are numerous types of games I'd like to see a remake for different reasons. First, there are games that had loads of promise and interesting mechanics/ideas but were underwhelming or maybe too ahead of its time, like Breakdown, or Jurassic Park: Trespasser. Great games that aged poorly due to antiquated control schemes and/or gameplay concepts, games like Goldeneye 007 (no, the Wii version doesn't count), D2, and quality PS1 game that has tank controls that hasn't already gotten re-release at some point, like Parasite Eve 2. Great games that just need a new coat of paint, like Beetle Adventure Racing, Super Mario Land, and Soul Calibur 2. Games that were super well received, but didn't sell well and never got a re-release, like Little Samson and Panzer Dragoon Saga. Some games that could use some kind of save function, like Ranger X. Then there's Fallout 3 and New Vegas that just at least need to be put on a more modern engine for better stability and so they can be modded without massive frame issues. Oh, and as a personal want, give me a modern Half Life 2 release. Don't change the gameplay, just give me new graphics.

Best world building - outside of Mincraft, probably a city builder. Cities Skylines II had a rough launch and the simulation aspect still isn't the best but it's good for building stuff.
This post made me realize there are multiple ways to interpret world building and for some reason I'm fascinated.

Game that Deserves a Remake: Feel like Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines would be my top choice here.
This is such an inspired choice. Nice one!

Best world-building:
Oh dang, is that two days in a row that Morrowind wins my vote? Yes. Yes it is.

No gaming world has been as rich in terms of lore and history as Morrowind. You get so fully immersed in this hostile, racist, xenophobic, alien world, that when you do finally encounter someone who isn't outright hostile to you, it actually leaves an impression. You remember them for treating you kindly. You like them. You even trust them. And these characters are well-developed, too. Caius Cosades isn't just "gives quests guy" -- he's the province's top spymaster, and lounges around home in cheap pants and no shirt, feeding his drug addiction with skooma and moon sugar.

Then you have the ordinators. No video game NPC has ever made me feel as unsafe and on-edge as the ordinators. And they're the ones upholding the law in the capital city. Just incredibly well-designed.

Sure, there are some commoners who don't offer anything important other than padding out a town, but that's realistic -- not every single person you encounter should offer you a quest. Yeah, most characters just wander or stand around the same small area, but even despite not having Oblivion and Skyrim's Radiant AI, the game world still feels MORE alive in comparison, more fleshed out. That's how beautifully the world is crafted.

I haven't even touched on the lore in the books, the cryptic messages and meanings hidden in the religious texts, the mysteries, like the disappearance of the dwarves, etc.

Fuck, what a good-ass game. If you haven't played this game, play this game.
