It took me years to find this song. Heard it when it was new and was like "hey, this song sounds pretty solid." Forgot about it. Year or so later, the song plays before a commercial break during an NFL game. I go, "Oh shit, I forgot about this song, better look it up before I forger about it." Watch the music video a few times. Forgot about it.

Years later on, my mind is constantly trying to figure out what this song is. I couldn't remember the lyrics, couldn't remember what it sounds like. Only remember some details, like that it was sung by an all male band, the song was short (under 4 minutes long), it was from the 2010s, the beginning of the music video, the fact that the title is repeated numerous times in the chorus, that it's a more positive song, and that some of the video has them singing in front of water. My issue was that I messed up the message of the song. For whatever reason, I thought it was a break up song with the singer being like "I'm better without you regardless of how well you are doing". Instead it's a song about not having and regerts.

I posted a thread on Reddit back around COVID, trying to find the song. One guy replied with a "I might have a couple ideas, but can you provide more information" and then never replied with those ideas he had. Every once in a while, I'd look around for the song. Once tried to find it my YT watch history. Tried searching Billboard charts. It was never a #1 song, so that made it impossible to find.

I'm not forgetting it this time. Glam rock. Peaked at #5 in the Alt Rock charts in the US.

Kinda reminds me of our boy Chester Bennington, this song. He was struggling with himself before he ended his life. Song is hard by the way, Crystal. U got good taste in music 🎶
Yeah, Citizen Soldier are a band fronted by someone whose been there, he was actually placed into a psychiatric hospital for a while because of his struggles, he's now a licensed therapist, and it shows in a lot of the music they produce. For instance:

Again, u got REALLY good taste in music 🎶 Crystal lol. Song speaks in so many ways. I'm glad he pulled through and became a licensed therapist. I really loved it at the end when the song says "don't give up, give it a little time, you'll see you were worth this fight." ❤️ That part was SO inspiring. I just wish a lotta celebrities that have ended their lives from drugs and suicide would've had a chance to hear this song and maybe they could've pulled through and they'd still be alive 💔 😔

Yep, it's one of those things we need in this world. As someone who suffers from suicidal ideation it's music like this that keeps me grounded. Love it!
Looks like we both got something in common. I've suffered from suicidal ideation too. Been to a mental institute twice when I tried to overdose myself, and attempted it a third time recently when I broke 💔 up with my ex. It happens, but the important thing is I overcame, and I'm still going 💯

Been dealing with it it since I was a teenager, they've even been trying to have me declared SMI (severe mental illness) to make it easier to get me put away any time they feel like it. Been fighting that diagnosis for a year or so now.

Being brought back from failed attempts is... disheartening, but makes you realize what you have.

Yes, very true. I never wanna end up in a place like that again. I just spend time being to myself and being me, and just avoiding any stress factors that might trigger me in some way. I wanna be as mentally stable as I can. Sometimes the best way to avoid mental stress is to steer clear of the things, people, or circumstances that might cause the instability. Right now, for me, that's no more dating unless I'm sure it's the right one lol

Yep, I hear you on that one for sure. I got really lucky on that front with my partner @MC74 being such a perfect fit for me and my personality. She gets me and understands my mental health issues, too. I'm so lucky to have her. I hope you can find that, yourself!

Yes, thanks for that. I hope I do find someone that will accept me for me. I have an abnormal, child-like personality that's often misunderstood by people. I'm really just an energetic fun loving and humorous type of guy, but women often depict me as a "man-child" and I guess it's a turn off for MOST women, but not all I guess? I dunno. My ex accepted it and wasn't bothered by it, so maybe I just need someone else who will still accept me the same as she did. In all honesty, majority of women probably look for a man to be with, not a man-child. I guess maybe I should act my age a little more?

Perfect ice breaker for that? A dog! Women love dogs and a man with a dog and a fun personality suddenly isn't so much of a barrier anymore because he's just having fun with his fur baby!

Lol. Sorry, I would consider that if I were a pet person. I'm terrified of dogs 🐕. They're #1 on my phobia list next to fear of drowning. I'd probably be better taking my chances with cats 🐈, but again, I'm not really a pet person. I'm sorry 😞

Totally understandable, animals aren't for everyone! I love animals, but they're just not for everyone. Nothing wrong with that at all! Just need to find the thing that works to channel that energy. In the 90s it was skater guys, these days, I have no idea, lol, but you just find that route that works to help channel the energy and show that hey, yeah, I'm a fun guy, and I make it work for me :)

Thanks Crystal. Really appreciate your advice. I'm confident I'll meet someone who'll be just right for me 🤟
