TotK update:

If you have plenty of Keese eyes, multi-shot bows, and anti-environment outfits at least up to level 2, Gleeoks are easy.

They just fucking sit there and let you shoot at them. Even in the last bit where they fly in the air, you can still get up to them where you can shoot them with arrows and hope they take enough fall damage to where they die.

Kinda disappointing that they don't really do anything special. Even when they fly up and rain down death from the sky, they still just sit there.

Silver and White Lynels seem to be the only menacing enemies in the game. Flux Contruct IIIs can be annoying if you get stuck when them in the cube mode because they shift their crit spot around so quickly and often, but Riju's ability almost makes that a non-factor, too.

Kinda wish they incorporated the Aerocuda flight patterns into Gleeok movement. Would love to try to dodge their flybyes. The way you have to try to get up to their level on their final stage is kinda meh. The Frost Gleeok is the most inventive one, but its still a pain, and you kinda need a piece of the Froggie suit.
There is the elusive King Gleeok that's a bit harder. The rest you can kill in one cycle from air to ground with the correct setup. Or maybe im misremembering how easy they became after a little bit.

what makes King Gleeoks harder is the fact that they're so far away from everything else. They still just sit there.

I guess you're still right. I dont know if its better to avoid cheesing them for a bit of a challenge? Probably not as you do need to farm those for drops anyhow if you want to upgrade all your gear. And keep some stuff for fusing.

They were neat in the beginning though. I think I took down my first regular gleeok with a shitty bow with 3 hearts. The early one on a bridge. I don't know if it would be better design to have them move around more as you'd be spending a lot more fuse material missing your shots.

I tried taking one early on when I had a bunch of Keese eyes but when it crashed to the ground and I attacked it, I saw how little damage I was doing and immediately loaded a save. Felt like I would break all my weapons just to try to kill the thing and I already spent a bunch of time playing peekaboo with to avoid getting frozen.

I don't necessarily need the fight to be harder, just more engaging and fun like Colgera.

I probably should try to make some flying Zonite device that lets me engage them from the air, but from what I understand, Gleeoks destroy Zonite devices if their attacks hit.

Edit: I fought another Frost Gleeok. I opted to see what happens if I move out of its immediate range. The thing does eventually get up and start flying to reposition, but it takes far too long to react and attempt to reposition.

I been playing Expedition 33 here & there. I like it a lot.

And I play a lot of Turtles in Time (aka the best game ever made) & WWE 2K25 with my kids. For some reason, I put an unreasonable amount of time into editing Doink The Clown's moveset and stats to where he's unstoppable.

Silksong update: I detoured for a while in Act 1 and went for side quests/exploration. I've since reached Act 2 and the initial area seems overwhelmingly large, albeit not too challenging to be honest? Or I've adapted a lot to the game, not really sure. I still have to go back and beat the boss that Jawneh and I were discussing but as expected in typical HK fashion, there's more than one way to progress and go about things. It was fun discovering it, though.

I'll continue Act 2 probably some point on the weekend but I'm still very happy with this game. Barring annoyances I'll likely end up going for the Platinum and have fun doing so.

I want to also try to get through before more nerfs (there's a nerf patch coming next week).

I think I'm almost done with Tears of the Kingdom, not just in terms of the story, but my engagement with the game. There is far too much grinding for materials in the game. I'd play around with Zonite devices and making crafts if I didn't feel like the system extremely limited in what you can use and the fact that you can only connect one piece to another. I wish there was a location where you had a lot of construction materials in a single place so one could experiment with everything the game has to offer without having to travel from location to location. I want to make a cruising boat that looks like an actual boat, but it seems to be limited and YT videos just have simple devices or elaborate fish collecting devices. There's also the issue with Zonite devices having a time limitation and also being easily destroyed by certain enemies. I can't take a Gleeok on in the air because the wings only last 75 seconds for no good reason... not to mention the canons just shoot even when there is nothing to shoot at completely draining your batteries faster (Edit: You have you use Construct Heads for canons to only shoot when there are enemies nearby, so you need two devices that eat up your batteries). Also, I hate that devices built using autobuild have that same ugly shade of green.

I also kinda want to play some other games before I get bored of video games again. I also haven't watched any anime since I started playing BotW.

Hopefully, the next Zelda game takes all of the fun ideas from these two games and improves upon them, as well as giving us a NEW version of Hyrule.

Edit: Also, the mech seems weak. I should be able to bitch slap bokoblins to next Tuesday, but the lack of being able to fuse weapons while mounted and the fact that every movement is slow and clunky makes the mech seem suuuper underpowered.

Edit 2: Holy fuck, my eyes do NOT like the underground sections in the Gerudo Desert. There is this constant haze and my eyes are constantly trying to focus and clear up something that cannot be cleared.

Edit 3: Found the Gleeok Den. Wanna guess how many Gleeok's I encountered?

One. I thought it would be like those Collisiums where you get multiple rounds, but nope. Don't even need to step into the arena space or approach the chest like the Collisiums either. I was in the middle of going around the arena and the King Gleeok flies in as if the second "Gleeok Den" popped up on my screen, the thing spawned in somewhere and flew there.

Lynels are the only true trouble this game gives me anymore and that's only because the critbox is bullshit. That hit box must be the size of a peanut if even the Keese Eyes can't hit it...
