@VashTheStampede I think your use of Lawyer/mob Lawyer and Good/Dirty cop resolved my issue on how I want to use the chance card roles in Monopoly Mafia.

Yeah that's how I want to get some of the roles taken care of, and also utilize more aspects of the game.

Mafia is going to be retired tokens and village will be active tokens. Mr Monopoly is the independent role.

Now it could have been a "I'm the dirty cop and want to be converted to the good team" type of deal, which is fine.

But I'm curious on the second part. Would it have once again come down to timestamps? And therefore could have been a "let me know when you take your shot then I'll PM to investigate you"

But still, the results of both individual shots hitting a target on the same night when neither was confirmed and one of which was just a name among many on a list of suspects, who was suspect for playing this game the same way she played the last game while being on the village side.

Cole did openly say yesterday for the dirty cop to get a hold of him and convert him.

I also like how LH voted guilty then changed after it was said like a dozen times jury votes are final. I even quoted him directly on day 2 to day this.

The dirty cop apparently had already reached out at that point according to what local wrote.

It's not a bad plan from the dirty cops perspective. Honestly it would be an easier way to win.

It's just not great that both the vigilante and dirty cop were (likely, in the case of the vigilante) contact with a person who already had the full confirmed list took a shot on the last night that person would be allowed to play, and both those people stuck gold.

Kut was a likely target anyway.

This isn't on Cole. He did his best to publicly try and hide the fact that he knew. In DM he could have been a little more persuasive saying "these are the ones I feel most confident about taking a shot at"

It's hard not to do that. I'm sure the game felt a bit spoiled for him too since he didn't have to think as hard to figure it out this time.

Yeah - I can't imagine trying to play this game legitimately following what he knew in Day 2 when he actually knows who the mob is.

I can't wait for the "Wow Cole read them all!" line. lol

Like Vash said earlier - this game has been the perfect illustration of why the "no talking outside the game" rule should exist.

This is where I say that the game was really a social message about how there are no good cops to obfuscate a logical flaw in the game

Mafia kills are the last thing that occurs at night, for balance reasons. I'll try to be more transparent about this (and other things) in the future. First game fuck-ups.

Oh it happens. Back on OG GW I never saw an order of actions list so it was interesting to see Zell's but now I know why it exists.

I think the no-PM thing will help too.

Back in FQ's game when I was seer, she would send me back the results to my read right away. I could've in theory PM'd people right away and gotten my read out there even if I died.

Yeah. I agree.

This game has been messy for a few reasons, but quite honestly - most of it isn't on you.

I will say, I do think role claiming has a place (I'm not a fan of it) in this New GW world of wolf/mafia games.

On Old GW, it was all about reads and discussion. There was the occasional role claim but it didn't really happen.

On New GW, people won't read or discuss reads. They're waiting for role claims to come to light and will act.

Even Day 2, no one was following Cole until he was like "I'M THE SEER ALU IS BAD".

So did Cole get to do a read the night the dirty cop arrested him? If so, arrests should probably come before the reads.

Arrests are the first thing on the list. Him getting a read on you was a mistake on my part that I didn't feel the need to try and rectify because at that point I knew you were dead with no Cleaner action.

I mean I'm fine with what happened. It sucks, but shit happens. Kut probably feels a bit shitty about it. Cole probably wishes it didn't happen.

Everyone else, especially the rest of the mafia... Will be interesting to see. One of the other make mafia members made themselves pretty sus (and called out as such) early on.

Likely could have ended with a town win regardless, but we'll never know for sure.

Gotta say I applaud his sportsmanship.

Also, once I found out who Cole was, I gave it about 40% odds that I was the person he was investigating that same night. I had a feeling he wanted to go for someone he respects as a player, and to that point I was probably the hardest to get a decent read on in that group. I had kut slightly behind me in terms of odds. But in my mind it was a more likely than not scenario that he found a mafia member that night.

I appreciate that I'm not yet being crucified.

I'm heading to catch a train, but I'm gonna start typing up to explain exactly what happened just so everyone is aware.
