I normally don't care about cinematic trailers, but I gotta say, that was pretty awesome. Looks like we got a small glimpse of gameplay -- seems action-oriented, like Ninja Gaiden or some-such.

Astro Bot hit different than any new game I've played in a long, long time. Now given RPGs are usually my thing, it was my personal GOTY too.

The game was just fun and few games have made me smile the way that game did.

It's not hyperbole at all. Astrobot should not have won GOTY. Especially when a game like Rebirth was also in contention.

But the fact Elden Ring's DLC was in contention and these awards are as big a joke as the Oscars.

How so? Rebirth was 100% created from scratch using an old story. It's a new game whether people agree with it being a remake or not. Like Elden Ring it had GOTY locked up when it came out. Astrobot shouldn't have beaten it. Even if it was good.

Rebirth had a small period of hype not long after it's release, underperformed expectations, and has more or less fizzled into oblivion for anyone who's not a FF7R diehard though.

To say it had it locked up when it came out is kind of silly - and you can't compare Rebirth to a game like Elden Ring that won most anticipated game in the two preceding years.

Rebirth is debatably not even the best RPG of the year, let alone game.

Just because the game is long, and was built from scratch doesn't give it the automatic points to be ahead of something. I'd argue that it was too bloated.

I'm not trying to sway your decision but any of the nominees had a legit reason they could win. Saying it's criminal that one beat another is just dumb.

You can disagree, but even take the fanboy out of the conversation and Baldur's Gate 3 was a significantly better game. I still don't think Elden Ring's DLC should have even been considered, and Black Myth Wukong had too many issues to win. But both Rebirth and BG3 should have been the winner. But there was too much politicking and whining about RPGs winning. This was rigged.

Sorry. ostracize me all you want. But I'm also not wrong.

so anyway besides the actual awards themselves I'm gonna have to go back and watch the trailers for the game announcements since I wasn't able to watch them due to my friend wanting to play games (he really has the worst timing).

the one I did see was Borderlands 4 and Idk how to feel about wilol probably have to give it a rewatch to really get my thoughts on it

also I missed the palworld update trailer but I heard it was really laggy but I still want to watch it cause I did like the game
