Diplomatic Immunity
((One of my new spells requires a small straight piece of iron. Another requires either thorns or sharpened twigs, and the last requires the seeds or feldspar...I have another new spell that I likely won't be able to get all the materials for, unless someone happens to have a gilded acorn that I can stuff a feather, some fur, and a fishtail in))

((I'd imagine the iron shouldn't be hard to find, nor the sharpened twigs. Grab some twigs off the ground and if you don't have a utility knife, I do and you could fashion them, I assume. The other items... Ben or D&DB are going to have to help with lol.))

I just realized.... this is the last leg of this journey... :(

We will be ending our journey soon. I hope you have another one ready to go Ben! Gonna need another fix! :link
You sure are.

Looks like I have... 14 total official adventures. But that's about 1/2 of them.

I've not really decided on where to take you next. Each of you is going to end up with some personal quest really, and probably want to go on different adventures, so I think I'll just end up presenting you with a couple of options and just let the party decide what they're going to do.

I need to find the level ranges for the stuff I don't have, too, I guess... There aren't a lot RIGHT in your ending level range of 4, though I have options. I could also just Homebrew something to get you from 4 to 5 and then do one of the 5-10s.

I might try to get 6 people into the next campaign, just to let someone else play. Honestly it should probably be @VashTheStampede getting to play. :shrug

EDIT: Scratch showing you the whole list of what I have. Let's make it surprising.

Basically, the continuing threads I have so far are;

Zesty needs to investigate the letter from a colleague/whatever. Moonsprout wants to document the lore of nature and find new beasts. Short Order wants to find an item fabled to turn anything into alcohol. Nac wants to help him do that, while also finding out what happened to his parents. Aims wants to fight dragons, probably.

Well alcohol is one option. The other is some item or relic or potion of some sort that helps him not be a crazy ass druid and more like a normal one.

The "get control of druid shit" was the other angle I would have taken with him, but didn't want to abandon your original idea. I'm down with the "connect with the Earth" thread being the main one.

Certainly could take you North to Icewind Dale or somewhere, if you're all in on the sub-zero cold druid stuff. Good opportunity for you to see/gain new arctic creatures to turn into.

If he can't become a regular druid, he'll take being drunk all the time.

So like... I wanna keep most of my ideas up my sleeve to surprise you all more.

However, the idea I've got for Moonsprout is, I want to take him to the Feywild... Aaaaaaand... I have access to homebrew rules to essentially implement a Pokémon partner in D&D.

I hadn't put much thought into how to make this work for our specific campaign, but if it sound interesting I could try to set that up for the next one.

Or, if we don't go full battling partner, I could at least hook up some kind of CreatureDex for you to fill out.

Murdering a dragon is like the end game for Aims. Maybe some whelps, murderable dragonfolk, drakes, or something come around, but I'm not too worried about them. Or maybe he mistakes many many more reptiles as dragons through other journeys. Who knows!

Slowly incrementing an even bigger thing is fine for the murderian. If there's good things doing that or whatever else you might've thought of is swell. Hilarity will surely ensue one way or another.

An owlbear, you say? Fighting kobolds!? We must help the kobolds!

Zesty and Boltzmann attempt to move to the brush on the east, perhaps setting up an opportunity for a stealth attack.

((@Ben - I still have my crossbow technically equipped for the moment. And I did put on those Boots of Elvenkind, though, I will likely give those to Nac as I think he'll make more use out of them than I can, but for now I have them. I'm not sure how stealth works overall. Would I be able to faerie fire without them noticing me, yet too?))

So, a 'surprise attack' in this context would mean getting a round of combat with the surprised enemy not getting to roll initiative until after the surprise round.

When you attempt to stealth past a creature, it's your stealth roll against their perception roll. There's passive perception and active perception, if they're looking for you. There's also possibly advantage/disadvantage to this, like those boots give you advantage on your stealth roll, for instance. If you're trying to sneak past a group, you'll roll against each of the creatures, and they individually can be surprised or not.

In so far as this situation, you could do that, but there's considerations. The safer path is the red one around this large bush, which might not get you seen at all, but it's a good distance and they'll have moved by the time you get there. You can go straight across on the orange path, but you'll have to roll those stealth checks since you're out in the open. Or you can go to the green path with Aims/Nac and you'd be like 40 feet away from the group.

Really you can do whatever you want on the surprise round, faerie fire, attack, dance, whatever. They'll just still get to initiate combat after that round, so you're not FF'ing them and still being sneaky.

((Can we have Zesty, and potentially others, attempt to do a sneak somewhere safe, and then Aims goes in attempting to sneak straight ahead and mount the owlbear? :smile2 Big half-orc jammies shouldn't necessarily screw up the sneaks for the others, unless the owly rolls good, yes?))

((If by "sneak straight ahead" you mean "run in plain sight straight towards them" thus causing a distraction, I'd say possible. Still kinda out in the open but if you're a big enough new variable they might not notice sneaky-bois.

If you like... Really wanna try to ride an owlbear... That's on you.))

((Just remember, you have Moonsprout with you. I guess I assumed he hopped out of the Beany-Björn and was looking for sticks with Short, but just... Consider how he'd react.))

((He'd be delighted about me making friends with the large creature instead of straight up murdering it.

... unless it fails and it reverts back to murdering it. He's in it for the (emotional) ride nonetheless!))

((Sorry for not replying sooner, been kinda busy today. Also did not get notification on the tagging..

Is it possible to sneak around to the left and drop down/climb up and approach the owlbear from behind?))

((You're currently still hidden so you could still stealth. Your stealth roll would again be up against the passive perception check of everything whether or not they spot you, but you could do it. The slope down is like 5 feet, so sliding down it would cost you 10 ft of movement (climbing/difficult terrain).

They're mostly too far away for you to reach in 1 round, though. You'd have to pop your step of the wind to reach them.

But the owlbear is also still fighting the kobolds and I guess Zesty, so the rest of you could do whatever without having aggro, I guess. :shrug ))

((Unless you can jump really really far, nah. Homeboy did a pop pop before I saw you try to move.

But I mean, same as I said to Nac, they aren't paying attention to you yet. ))
((Well, actually, if the first square I can move into is the SE one, I could make a DC10 roll to see if I can land on the square with the owlbear. With some leeway from you to land on it instead of jumping into its side.

But I will attempt to do a creep up instead anyways like the dumb half-orc he is. Maybe probably jump next turn.))
