Given that we're back, that was a hell of United-Liverpool game. All of those pundits predicting an easy Liverpool win have obviously forgotten both that form simply doesn't matter in those games, and that the same United team having a terrible season managed to derail out title race and put us out of the FA Cup in the space of two weeks back in March. But we still have a decent lead and haven't lost any ground, so I will take that.

So, uh...Wrexham got promoted again. From what I've read, it's the first ever time a club was promoted 3 times in as many years.

I think the consensus in here was that this would be about the cap for them unless some drastic changes happened. I don't think they'll make it 4 years in a row, but it's certainly crazy seeing this happen.

I'd bet against it, and it's the biggest jump of all. Even this season they're still well behind the Tom Brady powered Birmingham City, and they were crap when they were relegated from the Championship last season. But even if it didn't happen next season the idea of promotion in the near future wouldn't be that crazy.

They unveiled their 2023/24 financials recently and their revenue was above the Championship average, excluding the parachute payments teams relegated from the PL get. Bear in mind that was for last season when they were still in League Two, so two divisions below the Championship. They'll almost certainly have the financial firepower to compete, but the trouble is they're now facing other teams with ambitious rich owners because the PL prize is so much bigger.

Also the fact that the stadium is sponsored by STōK coffee, a product not even sold in the UK, is quite funny to me. You sometimes see it in the PL with those funky Chinese gambling companies, but League One? Gotta love that Netflix effect!
Stok ain't got nothing on my Toughsheets!

As for Wrexham, unless Ryan Reynolds is suddenly a secret billionaire that I'm not aware of, I really don't see them making the leap to the Prem. They're a Welsh community club, League One is realistically where their ceiling should have been, now they're overachieving, and good for them, but...that's it. The Brummies have the infrastructure and the money to back themselves up because they WERE a Prem club. So were Bolton if this Trafigura backing leads to the kind of funding being hinted at should the self-sabotage even stop...

...oh shit they really are my club...
