Knew the wolves couldn't kill me, they'd lose a night kill. Would pivot to Tough Guy/Bodyguard claim in that case, but then Ants and Raposa tossed subtlety in the trash compactor with THOSE two claims.

From my standpoint it's brilliant because the wolves won't attack/kill you. If they "know" you're the Fan, and they only get three kills in practice so far, they're going to keep you close while aiming for roles that can hurt or stop them. The only time it makes sense in my mind to pick up the Fan instead of killing a townie is if the +1/-1 results in the game ending, or the wolves can't make any safe moves/kills and pick up the Fan to get the +1/-1 and avoid Spirit Seer detection for a night.

The only drawback is that if you're too obvious, then the town itself will lynch you. Which isn't great for the town since the Fan is part of their number until/unless converted, but... that's never stopped the town from making less-than-optimal choices in the past.
