Zell Wolf GWF Wolf - Zell's Version Day 4

Messages

Greetings friends,

Here is a list of players:

@Cole
@Tubby23
@Fire Queen

@shortkut
@Tommy Boy
@Ants!
@Dean
@Ryan!
@Killface!

@Jawneh
@VashTheStampede
@Holly
@Fool's Requiem
@Benzine

@A Long Time Named Nipple
@Kat

And here are the roles used in this game:

Role details here: https://gwforums.com/threads/role-dictionary.427/

Village team:
Gunner
Medium
Witch
Aura Seer
Detective
Doctor
Priest

Three villagers will get random roles from the following list. This is a true random selection with replacement, the game could have four aura seers or four doctors or whatever:
Aura Seer
Spirit Seer
Flower Child
Tough Guy
Bodyguard
Beast Hunter
Witch
Marksman
Avenger
Loudmouth
Red Lady
Priest
Sheriff
Doctor

Wolf team:
Wolf Avenger
Berserk Werewolf
Wolf Seer
Shaman Wolf

Solo team (Voting):
Fool

Solo team:
Serial Killer

Rules:
Nights will be 12 hours and days will be 36 hours. The end of the next period will be clearly posted. Nights will run from 9 am ET to 9 pm ET, with the exception of the night starting right now that will last from now until 9 pm ET on Saturday.

Do not edit your posts. I'll deal with edited posts as they come but will probably end in a suicide.

You have unlimited vote changes. This includes voting nobody. The day expiration time of 9 am will be strictly enforced. If your post / vote is at 9 am or later, it will be discarded. People can have a flurry of late vote changes to lynch someone, but of course the consequences of doing that will be noticed by the village. Only your last vote will be counted. Votes must be in Bold to be counted.

There will be a minimum number of votes required to lynch. Usually this number will be around the number of villagers / 2 - 1. In the event of a tie, nobody is lynched. In the event that the minimum number of votes is not reached, nobody is lynched.

Timing may impact some events. For example, let's say the witch PMs me to kill the medium at night ten minutes before the medium PMs me who they want to revive. Too bad medium, you are dead, and your powers along with it. Similar for protection. If the doctor is protecting the Aura seer, the wolves could kill the doctor followed by the serial killer killing the Aura all in one night.

Please do not talk about the game outside of the designated threads. This is honor system. When you die, you will gain access to a special forum that is already set up. The medium has access to this forum already. If you are revived by the medium, you will lose access. Please use this forum for all discussion by dead players about the game. Alive players can talk during the main thread during the day.

It is possible, if very unlikely, for the game to end in a tie if every single player is killed. The game also ends in a tie if there are no deaths for three straight days and nights.

Winning Conditions:

Village: WINNERS

Wolves: Kill the serial killer. Once the village has twice as many total people as there are wolves, the wolves win, regardless of the roles remaining.

Fool: Get lynched

Serial killer: Be the last player remaining with all other players dead.

Instead of a trusty one Oz slug, I load up a tranq round (which is just a capsule filled with thrice distilled shiner) and fire that sucker right into Killface's jugular. We getting a new pet folks

triple post (lol) Just wanted to say great job by @Zell 17 running an awesome game. I liked the roles, even if it was confusing at first. Nothing wrong with more detail. But appreciate the effort regardless. Very fun time. Day one was crazy. Also want to give a shoutout for @Cole and his long ass essays. Very smart, you are a vet at this shit man.

Role reveals kind of ruined this one from the start but I still had fun. Y'all gotta realize it's impossible to make shit up when you quote the PM from the omnipotent game master, especially when your own instructions are "get lynched or lose" lol. Ryan is really good at this kind of game.
I will always complain about unsportsmanlike play.
Okay but three things.

1: role reveals are part of the fucking game, and I will NEVER agree that universal ban of role reveal is a good gameplay mechanic. Period. It's not. role reveals are important, and SPECIFICALLY for this game, Zell said role claiming was going to be a big part of it. he warned EVERYONE.

2: no one knew I quoted his PM except for Holly. I didn't say when I first did it that I had quoted it verbatim, I just said thats what Zell told me. I quoted it verbatim in hopes another witch would notice and know for certain I was safe, even if they didn't post it.

3: @Fool's Requiem - I will always call out sore losers. You got beat, hard, get over it. No one lost the game for you but you. All you had to do was defend yourself, claim ANY role, but you didn't do either. You just said "welp guess I'm dead, Cole is a big meanie face and ruined the game for everyone". Get the fuck over it, take responsibility for your own actions or don't play games I'm in. Because I will find every single advantage I have to win the game that adheres to the rules as they are written. You're being small and childish and clearly nothing has changed.
I think Cole was partially waiting on welcoming into the Wolfvengers because I caught something he didn't :p
what did you catch that I didn't? Kat? Because she was one of my first casual suspects.

That it was likely that the @shortkut would use Holly instead of you as a baseline.

You literally used it as suspicion against me that I caught it and you didn't lmao

I had a major blunder in no longer suspecting Kat. I actually thought Jawneh was the other Wolf, and I was flipping between Killface and Alu.

I had a ton of suspicion of Kat after she responded to my intentional offense by immediately pushing it right back to me for almost no reason. It was an interesting little outburst that gave away a lot. But FQ got me good with her little spiel at the end and I misread it. Figured it actually took suspicion off of Kat entirely.

Cole, the problem with the role reveals is when you try to bully others roles out from them. You guys first did it to Ants and then he made a comment that made it seem like he became disillusioned about the game. Now, Ants did end up stating it didn't bother him, but tbe concern that he wouldn't play another game because of the events in the first day hit me, and I felt the need to back him up. Sure, I could have kept my mouth shut, but that is not my personality. I see what I consider to be bullshit, I will always mention it.

I also, very much dislike not blabbing out my role to be "not playing the game". Hiding my role IS playing the game. How am I supposed to win as a solo killer if I tell you my fucking role? Common sense, dude.

Ehh, agree to disagree. It's one thing to strategically claim a role, but with roles that have zero strategy by claiming, it makes the odds tip in favor of those with roles that can actually do stuff. There's no reward for revealing that you're the fool or serial killer. They are wanted by both teams. So in this specific game structure, I think it made it way harder for me because I felt like I was a townie that couldn't do anything. In theory it sounds fun to try and get the suspicion turned on you, but it's a lot harder in practice. Again, I don't think role reveal is inherently bad, but I feel like certain roles are at a disadvantage. It makes sense for some games but I felt like this game it was a free for all on day one. I still had fun though and I'm not mad it turned out this way at all! I just need more practice for sure. Totally could have been a skill issue for me.

I had a strat I thought could have worked for you for a win. Claim Spirit Seer. Immediately go after the Gunner. Get them killed. It puts the target on your back and they can't day kill you so they have to lynch. Alternatively you could have predicted the final Wolf, going along with the suspicion on Kat already and say she definitely killed last night, and it would look like you're sacking one of your own to get a better position and they lynch you anyway.

I... genuinely can't tell if you're being intentionally dense. This is the second to last post I make to you in regard to wolf games, the last will be in the now alive dead forum.

I forced *NO ONE* to reveal their role, everyone had a choice. Your choice was to roll over and die because you were crossing your arms and pouting like a toddler.

"Hiding my role is playing the game", yeah, and so is claiming your role when necessary. OR FUCKING LYING ABOUT IT. Ryan was a townie and HE lied about his role and it worked extremely well.

"Well I'm not a good liar" then stop fucking playing wolf? It's *literally* a game of deception.

its STRIKING how upset you can be about this. Lots of people disagree with role claiming, and they can still admit they've been beat. You're STILL pouting because I cold read you as suspicious in your thread, and instead of putting up ANY ARGUMENT AT ALL, you just whined and gave up.

Seriously, get over it, grow up.

I don't think the role claiming is necessarily the issue and certainly can be a tactic. I think it's that in this particular game if you didn't do it but still took part in discussion it was you were seen as instantly suss. And then held to the proverbial flame for your role so to speak.
Totally agree, that's where I feel like I fucked up. I couldn't figure out how to strategically claim a different role. And Ryan was relentless. I'd say it was played pretty well. I had no fuckin idea how to win or stop defending myself lol.

its a game of deception man, you lie. Zells game was BUILT around false role claiming, thats why there were 3867 roles that aren't guaranteed to be in use, so that the enemies can claim to be any one of them and theres ALMOST NO WAY TO CONFIRM THEY ARE LYING.

it's part of the game. It was ESPECIALLY part of this game.

Wow. Deception is NOT my strong suit lol. This is genius!!

Yeah I hear ya. Like I said I think it was more of a skill issue for me, not really the game's fault. Good game though man you really had it together since the beginning.

I must have missed a day/night phase. So two questions:

1. What happened to Kat?
2. Killface why did you kill the fool, knowing what he was thanks to my ability?
Kat was killed by Jawneh in the day (gunner). We already knew both Kat and Killface were non-townies (almost assuredly) so long as people didn't think I was lying. I had hoped enough people believed me at that point, and it turns out they did.

I realized Kat was a wolf way too late. I targeted her in the night phase. Having to wait until a following night phase to act sucks. Also didn't help that I missed a night phase by like 20 minutes, which is my own fault.

Oh well. Good game. I don't really consider myself a winner since I died.
If I wasn't killed during the day you were gonna be my night protect. I knew you had a killing role of some kind, I just pegged you for Gunner and thought Jawneh was actually a Wolf. Didn't realize he was laying low to get info on who to use his shot on. Don't know why I missed that, I figured that's what you were doing.
