Well, until I think of something specific or someone comes up with a genius wolf catching plan, I'll be the second person to cast a vote albeit randomly.

And mines for  shortkut.

Because there's no shortcuts in life and soon maybe no shortkuts either.

I would like to formally request we allow a vote if abstain.

random day 1 voting is silly. abstaining is a strategy. insisting on random day 1 voting is silly.

about to hit the hay for the evening so here’s some stuff:

- i think i will decide to allow votes to abstain but for this day one vote only. i think that will make it more chaotic and as we all know that makes wolf games funner
- whoever gets the most votes gets executed so plurality is a-ok.
- about 24 more hours left in this day phase

also unrelated but
i know you were hedging but also way to guess them lol

when you see I’m innocent, you’ll realize you’ve only doomed yourselves

@Fire Queen in the morning can you give us a tally on where things stand?
my guy, you say that line literally every single mafia or wolf game whether you are or aren't a bad guy.

"you've doomed yourself when I'm innocent!"

edit: and to add on to that, random votes are stupid you're all stupid.

While my gut feeling is to assume the big talkers are just 2 wolves pretending to argue with each other, I suck at this game and am going to abstain from voting for now. Not sure if I even need to say that for inactivity rules and such, but day one dumb and I might forget to show up later.
this is a false representation of the game. the big talkers are important, whatever shortkut and I are, we're getting things flowing, people are chiming in on our debate, it sets the flow. early days that's important.

and I think you know that.

Without big talkers and pot-stirrers, no one would say anything and we could all just submit votes without saying much else and it would have less strategy than a game of tic-tac-toe

For this I am voting Coleman. Pushing so hard against day 1 voting is exactly what I'd expect a wolf to say.
I am very curious on why you think forcing a random vote day 1 is beneficial to the town? what are the odds we get a wolf? how does this help us?

Zell was going to no vote even before no voting was allowed. it's the logical thing to do day 1.

My comment wasn't meant to suggest the big talkers are always wolves or trying to discourage it. That would be foolish and it's the type of thing that always gets people like Cole killed off early. But when I scan over a Day One thread with little to go off and still see a lot of arguing, it's hard not to get the vibe that at least one of them is up to something. Especially in a game with a lot of experienced people. Until tomorrow all we have to go off of are gut feelings, no matter how wrong they will probably end up being :D.

I'm gonna abstain today - you can never form a worthwhile opinion on day one, so eh. We'll just have to see what the mobster wolves do tonight and then kill someone off, accordingly

So we are basically playing a game without any information. Every town lynch is going to be somewhat random by definition. The logic behind lynching randomly is that the town only gets so many opportunities to kill a wolf, and the only way to do that is by lynching. If you skip an opportunity, that's one less roll of the dice in trying to get a baddie.

Of course, if you mislynch, it hurts twice as much.

I’m sure Cole knows that and the fact he is so against it is what makes me think he’s a wolf

no, this is always the way I've played regardless of what I am. the risk of killing a townie (which is LOWER every single day phase) is not worth it on day 1.

there is a huge difference between a random educated guess on day 2 or 3 than a completely random guess on day 1. a completely random guess favors only the wolves becsuse chances are the town misses.

I get "taking away a day" from the wolves, but if the town misses and hits a civi, that just makes the wolves job easier.

shortkut is also being stubborn becsuse HE KNOWS there's little chance of catching a wolf today, he knows talking and getting things going is how we get information moving forward. day 2 won't be as random as day 1, and day 3 won't be as random as day 2. but the odds of getting one day 1 with zero sustainable info is stupid.

The odds are not in our favor any day, that is why there are fewer wolves than townies
the odds increase every single day of hitting a wolf. going from random 3 out of 14 with zero information, to 3 out of 13 with some, 3 out of 12 with more, etc.

shortkut has now 100% locked in an entirely arbitrary vote and clearly has no concern about killing a civi.

Unless @Fire Queen is going to drop hints to steer us towards a wolf, every day will be an arbitrary vote.

Yes the odds increase, but they are never great odds so why wait

Milk is not good fuel for lamps, only somebody who can see in complete darkness would be so unfamiliar with lamps, and for that reason I am voting for shortkut.
