Tbh, I didn't know there were more than one... the only Lode Runner I played was on my mom's old Macintosh she had as a work computer in the early 90s. But I thought I recognised elements from it!

The game that's simply called "Lode Runner" is an arcade game that came out in the early 80s and looks like this:



The version I posted probably is the one you were playing, but it would have been more mid 90s instead of early 90s.

Lode Runner: The Legend Returns

The reason I would have accepted others is:

Lode Runner Online: The Mad Monks' Revenge - this is the sequel and a slightly updated/stylized version of the exact same game where it allowed for multiplayer over the internet (crazy for the mid 90s). Looks almost exactly the same

also:

Lode Runner: Mad Monks' Revenge Definitive Edition - fan made clone of it for modern hardware (where I think they even allowed for up to 4 players at once)

I have tried IV and Dracula X but I found I didnt like their feel. I do need to retry IV

I know you love your Rondo, I just couldnt get into it. Maybe I need to play it on a big 10 instead of my laptop, maybe that will get me there

I still think SOTN is peak. I havent played the Curse of the moon games, but I did really like the Ritual of the Night Bloodstained
