I will say that men (or anyone) with poor credit scores should be given a wide berth (like when encountering the whale in that reflection). Sure, poor circumstances may have led to that situation, but I've found it surprisingly easy to maintain a solid/excellent credit score. Just buy a cheap used car at a REAL dealership, make sure you set up autopay on the loan so you're never late on payments. Or get a credit card with a low limit, never over spend, but use like a debit card and pay it off each time you make a transaction or at the end of the month. Bingo-bongo, easy high credit score. Don't even need to borrow a lot to start. There are loads of credit cards out there that are designed to help people improve their credit score. Shitty interest rates only usually apply if you don't pay off the balance each month.

Also, I don't prefer to drive, but I'm fine with other people driving... as long as not my car they're driving.

What the fuck is men car insurance mean? Like it's feminine for a man to have car insurance?

Get a credit card with a high limit to improve your credit score. The more available balance, the better your score as long as you pay it off on time and keep your balance low. A debit card for purchases does not improve your credit score. It takes years of consistency,

The beginning seems to be the weakest part after you watch the whole video. Wasn't expecting to see it take that serious turn at the end.
I do wish he got the point a little quicker. I thought some of the asides during his story about him being drunk were unfunny.

Really, I felt the opening bit was more relevant to this thread, even though the whole thing about was about homosexuality.

I mean use a credit card like a debit card and pay it off after every purchase.
Exactly this. As much as I am aware that a lot of people don't have access to this sort of advice from parents or other authority figures, it comes up on every single search of how to build credit. There will always be people who are in a sufficiently poor environment or have bad enough luck that they have to use credit to survive, and I have a lot of sympathy for those people. But there are many more who just make poor financial decisions.

One thing I've heard (read) numerous times was people lamenting over the fact that financial responsibility is never taught in high school, but so much useless shit is.

My parents rarely gave me an "allowance" despite being required to do some amount of chores (I mowed the lawn, raked the leaves, and washed the dishes after dinner, my brothers did fuck all) and I didn't get a bank account set up until AFTER I graduated high school and was getting ready to join the military. Money management didn't exist. Luckily, I was always scared of credit cards and how easy it was to drown in CC debt, so it took a good 8-10 years before I got a real credit card that I could use. Though, it didn't help me get a car loan easily after the market crash due to lack of a credit history.
