The thing with cryptics, unless you learn the rules, the answers will seem like nonsense. Minute Cryptic is good for beginners, because they have a really nice hint system, and they have YouTube videos explaining each clue so you can learn how they work.

I tend to try and identify a couple of them before guessing because there are often "trick" categories. I actually figured out green and blue first (edit: by first I mean on my first read through the answers) this morning and figured I may as well try to see if I could get the other two figured out before guessing.

Also I was just trying to make kut feel inadequate and nothing more for anyone else.


Also the trick categories and going for what I noticed first rather than trying to identify a few of them before guessing resulted in far more mistakes (though I don't have any of those stats since I didn't have a subscription until after I changed my strategy). On a 240 day streak with 202 perfect games since I got the subscription as a gift for Christmas last year.
