Everyone stop what you're doing! It's happening! GW's own Alu is having a baby!! Come and congratulate him here: Need some help identifying this picture.
We're so happy for you, Alu!Your the man now, dog!7 years 9 months and 20 days for me. I’m apparently the most senior pharmacist at my location and people always ask me questions. It’s unnerving sometimes
I'm at about 10 years and 6 months at my work place! And I haven't gone Anakin once on the little devils!
Haven't any yet. I already did star wars last year so I want to do something different this year. I could do memorial day, though I'll probably have to leave the puns out of it.What's your plan for May? I'm assuming if you don't have something about Memorial Day included people will riot.
So I'm using the AI image tool in our Canva account to try to make an image for one my book displays. This particular one I'm working on is "stories with superheroes", so I'm searching "superheroes coming out of books" for the AI image. Done it multiple times, and it just keeps doing images of Superman no matter what (like, not even somebody who looks like him, it always IS him right down to the iconic S). I was hoping for some more generic super people that don't look like any well-known comic heroes in particular. So after a bunch of times I finally tried searching "superheroes (not superman) coming out of books", and this dumbass stupid fucking robot says no we can't, superman may result in content that doesn't meet our policies.
YOU'VE BEEN GIVING ME NOTHING BUT SUPERMAN THIS ENTIRE TIME AND NOW YOU DO THAT WHEN I SPECIFY THAT I WANT SOMETHING THAT'S NOT HIM.
Memorial Day isn't very fun for sure. There are probably better things to do than that.Haven't any yet. I already did star wars last year so I want to do something different this year. I could do memorial day, though I'll probably have to leave the puns out of it.
Nice!! I'm tossing that other one in the trash.
For sure. I occasionally do a more serious one (usually when my branch manager asks to do something like that), though my preference is always the cheesy jokesMemorial Day isn't very fun for sure. There are probably better things to do than that.
Create an ink and pen illustration of a muscled martial arts master wearing a full body suit, mask and cloak with the hood down, summersaulting out of the pages of a book.
Grant TrentfordsonOr Trent because of the word Ent.
Gaylord Focker.I need to come up with a fake work name to give people. Several of our old boomer patrons have asked me what my name is, and a few of them remember it and call me by my first name. I don't really like that lol
Maybe Grant because it has the word "ant" in it.
I could pick a gender-bender name like Ashley. My voice is kind of high-pitched and nasally and not one you'd expect to hear from a guy who looks like me, so it might make them assume I'm trans and make them feel uncomfortableAnything that would set off a boomer, or make them seem dumb when asking for you, would work.
Lean on your southern French-area vibes and go by "Boomer S'enAller"

Use Shawn, but when giving your name, say “Shawn, uh, [finish rest of sentence]” so it sounds like you’re calling yourself ShawnaI could pick a gender-bender name like Ashley. It’s too common that it won’t make boomers hesitateAlex. It's a commonly used name for males and females.
Just Alex, though.
Pretty much agree with what shortkut said. I like Ashley better because it leans more female and would be more likely to trigger the confused reaction I'd be looking forAlex. It's a commonly used name for males and females.

Fun fact: the deadline is to pay taxes, not to file taxes. So if you're due a refund, there's no penalty for filing late. You can wait as long as you want!
I maaay have done my own taxes on the 14th, and only that soon because I expected to owe.
I was gonna say "I hadn't seen this earlier but I feel targeted", but apparently I didn't even need to hit that deadline because I generally overpay.Oh hey, something I learned recently:
Lots and lots of people wait until April to file their taxes and suddenly it's an emergency and they need help.
don't tell me this, I procrastinate enough about this.Fun fact: the deadline is to pay taxes, not to file taxes. So if you're due a refund, there's no penalty for filing late. You can wait as long as you want!

I like both ideas. If I don't do mental health for the board then it'll at least be my non-fiction display for this month.End of the school year means no book reports, just enjoy the reading.
But in the grand scheme of things, mental health awareness is a timely one.
I baked my first loaf of bread yesterday and whilst kneading the dough I did genuinely go "hey, so this is the stuff Alu and friends can't eat"Also May is celiac awareness month so please be aware of me.
Also I was just looking up what other months May is and...well...
