We're so happy for you, Alu!Joint GW owned team!I'll take a team, sure.
The Quebec Nordiques, owned by the GWF consortium.Joint GW owned team!![]()
Surely we'd be the Cheating Fucking Nerds? The GW Fuckin' Nerds
That's if Buttman allows it. We were lucky to get Winnipeg back.Well done Houston and Canada!!
We'll see, Atlanta is 2-0 in Canadian franchisesThat's if Buttman allows it. We were lucky to get Winnipeg back.
Arizona is sure to be the next one, so that leaves the question as to who the last city is.Why...

Fuck you Bettman...
Portland? That would at least be an acceptable choice so probably notArizona is sure to be the next one, so that leaves the question as to who the last city is.
Not if Arizona is the next Western team. That will depend on if they can get an arena in time, and considering the NHL is pinching in to help with that, that means one more team in the East is needed to balance out the divisions.Portland? That would at least be an acceptable choice so probably not
The money made from the expansion fees, Bettman being so committed with making hockey work in southern markets. Why is the league with the most restrictive cap hits to players the first to expand beyond 32 teams too? Like... I don't understand it...
Portland Maine, then. Not if Arizona is the next Western team. That will depend on if they can get an arena in time, and considering the NHL is pinching in to help with that, that means one more team in the East is needed to balance out the divisions.
Unless they move a team that is more geographically closer to the East, like the Nashville Predators. Then they could look at a city like Portland or Kansas City.Portland Maine, then.
They should just fast forward 5 years and move them to Quebec already.I hope this time they just go right to the heart of it and call them the Atlanta Nomads
And he's pretty hell-bent on bringing hockey back to Arizona. Guarantee you the NHL would not chip in if it were a Canadian city.Keep in mind Bettman would rather have a deep south team play in front of 7 fans and lose millions of dollars, than have a successful team in Canada.
I'm certain he loses sleep at night thinking about McDavid not playing for a US team
Considering the NFL and MLB broadcasting deals are around 100 billion and the NBA is around 75 billing, this is peanuts.NHL renews its broadcasting deal with Rogers. 12 years at $11B. Fucking gross. but expected since they've got a stranglehold on those rights and aren't ever letting it go.
So are most of the other sports deals lolThis deal is only relevant in Canada
Or rather, relevant to only one locale is what I meant. So are most of the other sports deals lol
It's a broadcasting deal is all. I hear what you're saying, and I agree for the most part. My point, initially, was simply that once again the NHL and it's PA are screwed in these deals. The most physically demanding sport outside some positions in the NFL, and they find active ways to screw their players and not pay them. A huge MLB/NFL style broadcasting deal pays the players. But comparing a Canadian media rights deal to and American one is not really relevant is the point
