I have no problem if people end up wanting to vote me. Part of the reason I’m coming out swinging is because my role is weak and unprovable, so I have to contribute in other ways to gain credibility.

But I do have a problem if the village chooses me over passengers. At least put pressure on people so they can’t sit and do nothing.

I started to get salty after the whole "I just ghost react when mentioned if dead!" meta statements after last game, when I had a wall of "suspicious", "you sure about that", etc. notifications, but then I realized he's doing it to literally everyone and it's the only way he gets to participate given no dead body or deaded bodies, so... It is what it is.

But what does the pressure accomplish when other people who also have weak and unprovable roles have no other avenue to gain credibility until at least one night passes? Like I can say all day long that I am the violinist, but how does that really make me more credible, before or after pressure? Do you believe me now that I've said something? Do you think I haven't contributed because I am a passenger just watching?

did people forget that Nightmare wolf is a possibility and that wolves can take advantage of that possibility by claiming a "provable role" and then being like "oops I got nightmare'd"? (wolves can also actually Nightmare him and be like "Look, he's totally lying" though).

I have not, and that's why I'm skeptical of this plan to let them both live when almost certainly at least one of them is bad.

Here’s why. All three have claims of being a powerful village ally. A mislynch of a Detective, Flagger, OR Marksman would be a serious error. The risk is much higher than the reward, especially because with such powerful roles the answers are going to reveal themselves within a night or two (the marksman will kill someone/themselves, the flagger will redirect an attack, or the detective will get killed because the wolves are tired of the information generated).

None of those roles are that powerful, and it's completely possible we go days without any sort of confirmation. And even if Ben is killed and confirmed, we still have to pick between dimmerwit and quagmire.

I agree Quagmire shouldn’t shoot Local unless someone disputes Local’s claim. I think Quagmire should shoot you

I stand by my position that lynching somebody day one is almost always worth it for the info it provides, and today is no exception. (The exception is when it's the fool or headhunter target.) I think it's likely Ben is being honest, and we definitely want to know if he's not, so we should lynch one of the people he says isn't town today. I don't really care which, so I'll move my vote to quagmire for now since that'll get him a bit closer to the threshold.

I'll jump on the Quagmire because I like feeling like a rebel but really just going along with what everybody else is doing. It does feel like Zell is trying to keep us from voting for Quagmire that is at best a Markmen with an arrow pointed at a Strong Villager head, so it will be 2 days at most for him to be able to help with anything and that's if he points it at the correct person. He can die now and prove if we need to kill dimmer or Ben tomorrow, or be a bad guy and clear them. Then we can get back to killing Fools.

Because the wolves can’t handle the pressure long enough. Let’s say you are a wolf, and you claimed violinist in order to survive. Now tomorrow you have to give some information. But also, your buddies who are also faking violinist have to also give different information. You can all clear each other and you can’t all tell the truth or lie. And let’s not forget we have more or less verified info givers in Ben, who will almost certainly wait until AFTER all of the unverifieds give their info before revealing the truth. The whole web of deceit can’t hold.

And if we don’t pressure you into making a claim today, tomorrow or day 3 or whatever you just claim doctor and we have nothing to separate out the good from the bad.

They are both killing roles and thus amongst the best to have. There is a reason they are both unknown aura.

It’s not that I want quagmire to live, it’s just that lynching him is the worst option out of the ones presented so far. My preference:

Lynch a complete passenger > lynch nobody > probably mislynch a marksman

He picked one of a few people who hadn't claimed, so they were likely to be one of the last unclaimed strong roles. It's not that convincing imo, and you made it easy by pushing everyone to claim.
