The bounty hunter is OP. They just have to get five resources off their victim and they can kill as many times as they want, and everything but the first kill can't be protected.

Now whether that'll be a benefit to the city or not, we'll see. They already killed blindly, my guess is it'll be a bloodbath lol.

He';s the nomad and visited the dead body, but with a number switch I completely missed his death. So... I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt and hope I don't fuck up more lol

Yeah, I wanted to see how it played out, but that's likely one of the next roles to be changed. Want to figure out how to make it viable. I may try the Marksman route of hitting city kills the Bounty Hunter. Seems the best.
Or just out them when they shoot, like the gunner. Or only out them if they fuck it up? I wasn't criticizing, though. If I were, my only complaint would be that I didn't get that role myself.

How many resources did the bounty hunter get when they killed me?

I understand. I appreciate feedback though. It helps me make balancing decisions. My roles, while similar in use to the wolf games and sharing abilities, were all hand crafted. So there's bound to be mistakes, and i want to correct them. So I'm appreciative. And the only way to find them is to play.

Yep it's a kind of complicated system and the only way you're going to figure it out is by running more games to see what happens and make adjustments just like any sort of game developer or Creator they have to have run trials

I'm looking forward to you adding in resource trading. I really like the idea of resources being the limiting factor, and being able to shift those resources around.
Me too, it's unique. How many times in wolf do we say "I wish X had another bullet" kind of thing. Here you can.

But I found out with the first game that willy nilly "here's my resources" just doesn't work, so i need to find a balance. Initially, the thought was more a quid pro quo situation where give something to get something. Create alliances and work together. But : how can I possibly control that?

Eventually, I'd like a resource trading type of thing that isn't relegated to just killing or saving. But even then, I think there need to be more checks or drawbacks.

I've even considered something like a real cyberpunk concept: all abilities are augments and all augments have a drawback to them. A kind of "you can do this, but if you do, X happens to you."

I'm just not sure yet, so I'm always open for suggestions!

What if the corpos get a percentage of every trade? So you might get off that extra bullet, but maybe they get enough to do another action too.

An evil role that can steal resources could be fun. If you openly trade resources or trade to an obvious person, maybe they get yoinked before they can get used. Or it could be a non violent role that wins once it obtains enough resources?

Balancing would be tricky, but there's a lot of possibilities.

I don't hate this idea, honestly. At least as another corpo role. I'm hesitant about Corpos getting a percentage of the resources because they already can get a good amount. Only a few times do they not get refilled. Take you guys. You lost the resources for the informant. I purposely didn't announce why, but I hinted at it in the story for those meta gaming. There's a Cyber Detective, so he got Quagmires resources.

But, you guys were able to check a role, poison for an extra kill, and if it weren't for hitting the informant, you'd have the same amount of credits as you started with (you started with 50, they have 45 right now, and they lost your 5). And the biggest ability is readily available to them again. Not to mention, the solos in my game are overpowered purposely to give them a chance.

That said, the first game gave me personally no indication of how resources will work because of my fuckup. This game is giving me some useful info so far.

I'm putting this here because I'm going to need to create an order of operations, but given the current night action selections, I'm going to need some justifications:

  • Corpo kill is the last thing that happens at night. This was already told.
  • Night kills that subvert protection will occur at the end, but prior to corpo kill. Reasoning being that protections must be established prior to the kill.
  • For the city, and this game specifically, Street Samurai kills will occur prior to Bounty Huner kills.
  • Being jailed does not prevent another role from presenting evidence to the jailed party; The jailed party can't be killed, but can receive information/credits from a role like the fixer or brainhacker

Tonight is going to be a bad night for the city lol

Haha, how nice of you to order actions so both of their kills went through.
That’s why I had to make the justification above. It’s a note for when I create order of operations. But it makes sense that the bounty hunter kill would be later since it’s affected by protections. Which would happen earlier
