THE STORY CONTINUES:
Having departed from Dragon's Rest for the second time, your band of adventurers slowly make their way down the mountain paths towards the shore where you first landed. The journey is uneventful and peaceful, a welcome contrast to the carnage the party has faced since arriving on the island. Songbirds flutter across the path ahead of you as they dart back and forth between bushes, hunting the insects they harbor. Your walk down to the water does not take more than a half hour however, so the ramble through nature is fleeting.

Returning to the beach where you had fought the zombies, the party find the scene just as you left it. The battered corpses of the drowned sailors lay immobile where they were slain, the putrid grey flesh not appealing to any scavengers and having been left untouched. Your group moves cautiously past the bodies, one by one each battling the anxiety that the monsters will spring up again and attack.

The five of you convene on the short wooden dock. There is an old fishing net dangling over the edge and trailing in the water, where it appears to be tangled within a clump of seaweed. Several short lengths of aging rope are knotted here and there around the thick posts, some having been cut free in haste rather than untied. A rowboat not dissimilar to the one you arrived in is tethered to the dock, and you see a pair of oars laying across the seats. The boat appears big enough for 4 medium sized passengers.

North of your position, you can see a long spur of sharp rocks jutting from the ocean waves, extending several miles out.

Time for morning exercise!

Aims kisses both his biceps and starts towards zomb1. He ducks and dodge rolls under zomb3's attack to get in between in and zomb1, and as he gets back to his feet he uses the momentum to place a downward cleave at zomb1's rotting skull.

| You move into the room, confident you'll smash the zombie rising from the bed deeper into the room. As you step towards it, your feet trip slightly on the aged bedding, and your swing falls short of the zombie's face by inches. It snaps it's teeth at you and croaks.

So that's... neat. If this initiative tracker works out, I can just have you input the damage after you roll, on the enemy you're attacking, and I can more easily adjust it.

Zesty yells out...

Nac, Short, Sprouty! We got deadites!

((He does now! :D ))
Moonsprout replies:
We do? Go get'em, champs! I'm sure you'll do just fine.

This inspires Zesty to fight his hardest.

Moonsprout, standing in the cold and damp of the morning fog, shivers and rubs his hands together. He has no real interest in going up against even more rotting fleshbags, but there doesn't seem like much else to do on this ship than try to keep warm, although his curiosity gets the better of them...

Moonsprout slinks up to Door #4 and sees if he can peer inside, and presses his ear against the door, listening for sounds.

I'LL MAKE YOU PROUD, DAD!

Zesty shakes his head a little snapping back to reality. He's not really sure why a thought of his father popped into his head, but it just felt right. Zesty takes a step back from the doorway to clear the way slightly and giving space for others to see in the room as needed. He raises his crossbow and a magically infused arrow nocks itself into the slide. He tries to aim down sight at the nearest zombie and looses.

Zesty steps back 5 feet from the door and aims at Zombie 3 with his crossbow.

You move past Zesty to where you've got any kind of a line of sight on the undead. Moving just North of the tiefling, you find an angle through which you can see Zombie 3 through the door without any obstructions.

The frost forms on your fingertips and you channel your frozen intent at the zombie. The air clouds to fog as the temperature drops, but the Zombie shrugs off the effect of the spell and takes no damage.

| Hearing the call of your party, signaling trouble below, your mind reels for the fastest way to reach them. You throw your chunky form out of the crow's next and grab hold of the rigging as you begin to fall, planting your feet on the aged ropes and powering down hand-over-fist as fast as you can. Even dashing, you've made but half the distance down the mast and refuse to be late to the party.

You gape open your chakra and release a torrent of ki, which begins to vibrate the air around your bare feet with a tangible hum. You push off from the ropes, keeping your focus and channeling your energy into the balls of your feet as you drop the remaining 20 feet to the deck, landing softly.

You expend 1 ki point.

((You can act with Ur'kokk after knowing what happens on your turn.

I'm also going to not count your use of the Bardic Inspiration, because you would have normally seen your to-hit roll first, which was a 20, so you likely wouldn't have used the BI on top of that. When rolling everything in one post, it kind of negates getting to decide whether to use it based on that first roll result.

I'm also just going to go with crits being your damage roll, plus the max damage of the attack (like Vash does it). So I don't need another damage roll, I'll just use hte one you gave me.))

((Hmm... Looks like even if you move up to where Zombie 3 was, you'd still hit the corners on line-of-sight to Zombie 1.

1710811848897.png

You could arguably see better if you stepped inside the door, but Aims is also a fatass and providing at the very least 3/4 cover.

How "someone/something in your way" works is on that cover principle. With 1/2 cover, where at least half of the creature is obscured, it gets +2 to AC. If it's 3/4 in cover, it's a +5 to AC. If it's fully covered, you can't attack it at all.

You could hit Zombie 2 just as easily, if not easier, though. I'd say Nac only counts as half-cover.

So, want to move into the room a tile and shoot for Zombie 1, or stay where you are and shoot for Zombie 2? I'll just use the rolls you already made. And you know you didn't crit-fail, so you're not going to shoot either of them in the back of the head or anything...

I suppose in truth I shouldn't be giving you chances to rethink actions when they wouldn't work out, as that perhaps detracts from the realism, but I felt just playing it "lol no you fail" was a bit harsh. I guess that's up to you guys though, whether you want the tips/suggestions still or want to go a bit more hardcore.))

I can just reverse course on the order and try that way.))
