You chose...poorly

YES. I placed trickster on you when the game opened. Vash trickstered Ben. And he made a big play on that, and it worked BEAUTIFULLY.

And then he got screwed :sad

But it is what it is. Hosting is unpaid work and we appreciate it, and it made for some fun post-game conversation.
I can tell you what happened. Normally I log everything into a spreadsheet at home, and “like” the post when the action is recorded.

But if I’m away from home I keep up with the game on mobile. The wolf chat as you know got lengthy, and by the time I got home I didn’t get that you randomly trickstered #2 recorded. The whole time Alu was being lynched I was waiting for Vash or you to trickster him, but I obviously couldn’t suggest it.

There is also something I want to ask about but I should probably wait until the game is over.

That first day was wild. Honestly felt it was the best (well, most aggressive) play I've made in any of these games. Told the wolves I was going to claim Fool, then came out of the gate with that Super Obvious Fool play but with that hint of plausible deniability. Shame on all of you that thought I would really be that obvious about it.

Got 2 townie deaths out of it and I honestly feel I could have gotten at least one more had things played out more like I had expected.

Local went off book and popped the Shadow, which was not an agreed-upon strategy. But that's fine, we had agreed during the night to lynch #10 if he did use the Shadow. That would have been my second time being on a wolf team that lynched a Fool on Day 1 because of that strategy, assuming Christina is the Fool as it appears. Local went off page again and voted for Ben, I believe because he felt canadaguy's watering made him unlynchable. So even though he threw a wrench in my overall play, he ensured it wasn't a fatal error.

And so the town lynched Alu instead. If he comes up as the Trickster as intended, then I still have the ability to continue the Seer farce. But since he didn't, it outed me as lying about the Seer read, so all I had left to hide behind was the Fool play.

This made me concerned that Local was Cupid Matched with Christina, since he refused to lynch her. So I suggested we eat her. Local jumped on board quick so I backed off of that play as I trusted him again. Should have pushed to eat her anyway instead of going with the team play of trying to eat Ben, even though he was an obvious protection choice. That's my biggest error...but I also didn't know about the new role that could protect half the damn town. Another big error on my part.

Got converted to the cult on Night 2...if I could have lived longer behind the Seer lie (not a given, I know), I may have been able to switch to Wolf Avenger as I was directed by the Leader and take out another player when I did die.

It really was a solid strategy there. Dimmerwit being doubtful of you and still wanting to shoot you would have ended with us all dead at the same time, but more confusion around. Would have been interesting to see how that played out.

Also @Ants! You totally should have claimed being nightmared and unable to change your target with Tommy lmao.

So I'm a bit confused that we voted to eat Ben, but he didn't die, and then they started talking about Benzine got attacked?
BenIne stole the defender power and protected most of the town, and got notification that he was attacked and protected successfully.

Jon tried to convert Benzine, but FR flagged that to vash.

Benzine stopped your attack, FR redirected Jon's. FR then got confused thinking he couldn't flag the cult conversion and thought he flagged the wolf attack instead.

If Alu shows as trickster, I’m 100% sure that you don’t get converted because FR would have flagged to someone else. Means Jon and the cult probably survive longer because he would have had no reason to basically out himself. Still think dimmerwit guns you down during the day, though.

Plan was to come out the next day and claim red between Benzine and Fool's to try and stoke Benzine's distrust of FR (and hopefully have a Trickster on him) so maybe that would have swayed things with added peer pressure on dimmerwit but likely I'm still shot.

I didn't plan to live terribly long, just set up the wolves for a good chance.

Would have been super funny for FR to flag off Benzine and redirect it to someone Benzine was protecting, resulting in Benzine being converted.

Also Jon said he was thinking about targeting Vash with it earlier in the thread anyway, even with the play he made on day 1. So Vash could have been converted anyway, just without FR getting soft revealed.

The wolves had a great start and still could have won IMO, but kinda fell apart on their own. Tommy was nightmare wolf the entire game and never used it. I had to push Local to change his role and both times he did it during the day which strictly speaking is not allowed. I think if the wolves had explored changing the roles a little more it could have ended differently. Also if Jon doesn’t come out with an impossible claim.

And even with that the town probably loses if the wolves don’t step in yesterday and help them out with identifying the Fool.

Makes sense.

And Vash totally called it on Ben being protected, he was easily the best wolf player in our group. I was second guessing the selection after he pointed that out but we couldn't decide on an alternative so eventually said fuck it, eat ben.
Honestly I should have pushed more but I was disillusioned after the Alu thing

I haven't really read this thread yet, I will, but I read where I was tagged.

@VashTheStampede - you were on the top of my list to turn actually. I pivoted to Benzine because I thought getting him turned to my side gave me a better chance at winning since you had so much heat. I didn't even see how you died.
Right here. If I was revealed as trickster, Jon likely converts Vash directly. But he wouldn't have outed himself for sure talking about protecting Vash.

I don't understand this lmao. I instantly thought "this can only be a fool play" there. They were able to identify most towns people loosely after Kat and Benzine came back. I'm not sure how they saw it as anything other than what it was.

Also Zell if it makes you feel any better there was a several minute window after the first day ended where I thought Ants was pulling some cupid shit in a separate DM because I'm so sure of your ability to run these games that the idea of you making a mistake didn't even enter my mind until Ants pointed it out in wolf chat.

And even then I thought "maybe he's acting..."

And THEN i thought "oh it's probably a new role that blocked it"

I mean - Ben and FR literally said she could be the Fool but proceeded to vote her anyhow.

I actually think Christina maybe should have waited until Jawneh said who he gave the gun to, and then say “I never got a gun”. Then dimmerwit shoots Jawneh.

It’s not that different from kicking a call in a football game really. You hope it’s not game impacting and you try to learn from your mistakes.

I have plenty of experience but it’s never a good feeling

Honestly I was hopping around between Ben, Benzine or Vash at the time and picked Ben.

So based on that maybe between those 2. But the thing is, if I wasn't already kind sus on Ben, then I don't think I'm as primed to throw the water at that point yet.
