I think a massive help was that all 3 Strong Villagers were basically neutralized pretty early on. Both Gunner and Detective were both eaten (Gunner by pure luck) and the Jailer killed the SK for us (though I asked CG if he could do it). Oh, and no Marksman, Priests, or Witches (besides CG) helped a lot. Had Jon and Christina not been immediately identified as bad early on, we probably could have rolled the game.

Oh, and I'm like pretty sure that CG blowing his role was supposed to be a message to me, not a post in the game thread.

Also, I totally thought Witch could use both of their potions to kill if they wanted to.

i'm probably going to kill you the next 15 opportunities i get

1. CG usually makes it to late-game if he's not accidentally taken out night 0, and he's a strong player.

2. You're a good player too but you're severely underestimated, so you wouldn't have a huge target on your back.

3. It's such a random combination. Who would expect that? No one! That's why it's funny.

Thanks for winning, I knew you two could do it <3
You should make a single, special, off-season episode of a V-Day story to commemorate this.

A figure approached, radiant in the full of moon. He looked at the small cave entrance, apprehension and excitement in tow. Kelly descended into the cave, light in his hand, his steps careful but purposeful.

The grasp of darkness scarcely betrayed the silhouette of Fool's Requiem. He approached cautiously.

"Fool's?"

No response. Kelly brought the light up, bring a blank, expressionless face into sharp relief.

"Fool's, would you ever take a chance at love with a Canadian?"

Finally, a stammered response cut through the still air.

"You want me to love...you?"

"No, not me. Everybody's second favourite Canadian, canadaguy."

Fool's shifted slightly in his seat, doubt and interest in conflict.

"But...why me? Why not a strong player like Alu, or Zell? Or dimmerwit?"

The tension briefly broke as both men roared with laughter at that ridiculous final suggestion, but Fool's face soon dropped again.

"Fool's, you are stronger than you know. Nobody would suspect a thing. Maybe others don't believe in you, but I do."

"But how do I attract him? Do I steal the Stanley Cup?"

"Don't be silly, nobody in Canada remembers what that looks like any more. Here."

Kelly smiled as he reached into his bag. He pulled out a Nanaimo bar, a tin of maple syrup and six boxes of Kraft Dinner.

"You have everything that you need. I must return to my planet now."

As Kelly climbed back out of the cave, he briefly turned. And perhaps his eyes were playing tricks, but he thought he saw the faint whispers of a smile ameliorate the face of his newly enamoured teammate.

Also if anyone gave me KD, Nanaimo, and maple syrup, consider me wooed. That's the ultimate care package
Yeah that line definitely got me a bit flustered.

I don't stay as caught up as I want to and usually catch up what I can on weekends (life of a single parent). Did they have the cup on dynamite last night?
Yeah they were in Boston so they showed off the Cup up on the stage with some dude from the Bruins. Guess he had spare time cause they missed the playoffs.

It was one of those mornings in the forest where the mist hung low, like a tipsy ghost with poor navigation skills. Somewhere between the hollow echoes of last night's howls and the damp mulch of regret, Fool's Requiem padded softly into the glade.

Ben and Jon were crouched over what could only generously be described as leftovers. Bits of pink, feathered meat stuck between their fangs. The stench of alien sweat glands and confectioner's sugar hung thick in the air.

"Morning," Fool's said, his voice a gravelly whisper, betraying nothing but the faintest scent of... was that maple syrup?

Jon wrinkled his snout. "You smell like a pancake got frisky with a lumberjack."

"Canadian," Ben grunted, nostrils flaring. "Definitely Canadian."

Fool's Requiem chuckled, trying not to look at the gooey, half-eaten corpse between them. "Well, it's a brisk morning."

"It was a brisk morning," Jon muttered. "Until Smacktard showed up flapping his wings and flinging his filthy little arrows."

"'You'll fall in love!'" Ben mocked, curling his lip. "Next thing you know, you're sniffin' pinecones and planning brunch."

Fool's Requiem blinked innocently. "And... that's bad?"

"Yes!" they barked in unison. "We're werewolves! We gnaw bones, not emotional boundaries!"

They licked residual cherub from their claws, still in mourning for Christina. She'd been the only packmate with a sensible understanding of necromantic tax law and an allergy to romance. A tragic combination in hindsight.

"Cupid infestation's getting worse every year," Jon grumbled. "If I got hit by one of those arrows, I'd tell the pack. I'd beg to be put down."

Ben nodded solemnly. "Same here. No secrets in the pack."

Fool's Requiem offered a low, noncommittal growl of agreement, which is how werewolves lie. His tail gave a single traitorous wag.

He remembered the glint in Smacktard's many-lashed eye just hours earlier, as the diminutive winged pest hovered upside-down above him, arrow nocked and voice syrupy as a late-night jazz DJ.

"You need to seduce Canadaguy," Smacktard had whispered. "His beard alone could shelter three baby raccoons and a broken heart."

Fool's had blushed under his fur and muttered something about full moons and professional boundaries.

Now, standing in the clearing with Christina gone, Smacktard partially digested, and his packmates swearing oaths against even the idea of love, Fool's Requiem looked down.

He saw the smallest pink feather, clinging stubbornly to his paw.

He said nothing.

He just wagged his tail once more, and tasted syrup on the wind.

That was glorious, @Ben

We already lost at that point and the game was better played by the cupid pair. I'm not playing with spite.
You hadn't yet, though. Not REALLY. Immediately killing CG leaves it Ben vs. you and dimmer. And Ben had to choose right. Granted, it's easy since you can't protect yourself, BUT both Benzine and I missed that, so who knows. This is BEFORE Ben finally gave the breakdown. So you hadn't YET lost.

But... every time you guys got close, you overanalyzed and self sabotaged. Which amused me. :link

I'm just so glad I'm not a strong player and no one considers me for Cupid couple. Thank fuck.

I think at some point they just wanted to let the cupid couple win a game. If they'd actually been playing to win I don't know why they'd have left me alive so long.

But that being said, I spent the entire time after I got outed trying to play up that the SK might have still been out there, to try to hide FR, even though we assumed it was Kat. So if they bumbled around noncommittally, I'll take it as a small win.

@dimmerwit do you like have a Canadian relative or something? You always have some deep cut references. Like maple syrup and KD were low hanging fruit, but the you whip out Nanaimo bars?

No, just one of those things I must have picked up somewhere.

I mentioned this in the game just before Ben's post. I saw little chance of it happening though, and his post confirmed that.

Because you weren't truly a threat. Not with a yet unidentified wolf and the couple alive... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand...

This played a large role. Maybe not what you did specifically, but Alu and Zell constantly talking themselves out of Kat having been the SK is really what dominated the downfall of the town. At least from my eyes. To me, there isn't a single SK that would have waited THAT long top pull the trigger. To me, that was obvious pretty early she was. Clearly not to everyone else. I was just surprised that two of the smartest players kept talking themselves out of (what I thought) was the obvious answer.

To expand on this, knowing that the couple was still out there (and a possible SK) a powerless, last life wolf wouldn't be a priority to me. They know who you are and the town had only one kill method left (lynching). Finding someone who could possibly knock off everyone else would have to be priority. Sure, killing you would be easy, BUT you could only kill one at a time whereas the SK, by that point would have dropped everyone.

(I didn't want to make cupid look like a baby being eaten, so Kelly is an alien.)

Personally I take the known wolf out because of the off-chance he's the paired one. You lose nothing really.

I understand that mentality. Because of odds, I personally assume the couple is two town at that point. And the pushed voting patters struck me as odd, though, being dead is easier to see those things due to access of information. That said, I still don't think I'd have considered Ben the threat there. Because again, while lynching him was easy, the town was CONVINCED the SK was still alive. If you DON'T lynch them there, it's game over anyway

Yeah, agreed. They didn't know that I wasn't the one paired, so it seemed weird to just ignore me as a problem for later.
Again, it wasn't so much the threat of the couple as it was the threat of the SK, in my eyes. The couple only controlled the vote late. The SK was the issue. And to me, CG, the second he didn't follow the plan, screamed anti town, whether it was the couple or SK. Killing you over him there is just silly.
