Yeah dead thread has always been fun.

I'd even go so far as to say it's felt like the dead thread is trying harder to figure this out than the citizens in game.

Yo @TD I watched Infernal Affairs last night and it's wild how much Scorsese just took directly from it for The Departed. It really was a straight adaptation. Definitely recommend checking it out at some point.

He's accusing both Local and Zell of being Mafia. He's also encouraging people to focus on the bomber. Both tactics are good if you want to get focus off of the actual Mafia members. There's no real reason to suspect Local, and Zell is an easy target to throw suspicion on.

I don't buy Zell as guilty. There are sooo many possible obscure animal names. It'd be easy to use two animals so subtly that no one would ever notice, even without the quote loophole. Zell is smarter than to be obvious.

My guess is Kelly, Fool, and Jon as the Mafia members. I like tubby for bomber, but it could be somebody else setting him up or just going for the easy target to avoid attracting any attention.

I did see that post. I wouldn't necessarily say he's encouraging people to focus on the bomber, I feel like I saw 5-6 people want to focus on the bomber. I think canadaguy was the first. For accusing Zell and Local, he's not the first but an echo chamber. One of the smart plays by baddies is to throw out a random idea, not heavily pursue it, and let others bite on it if so inclined (Alu has been doing this A LOT). I think Jon bit on that.

I agree Zell is not guilty, it's likely whoever it is has been using obscure stuff. Like Vash said even saying "tit" could qualify so I'm not even going to bother determining who it is based on the tell.

I'm not bothering analyzing potential tells, feels impossible without knowing what they are.

That said, Jon does meet the criteria I'd be looking for in mafia member three otherwise.

The other ones who meet that criteria are Alu, Local, and canadaguy.

Kelly referenced animals twice in the first day, but I don't see any references in the second. He only has five posts, and even with quotes and links, I don't see anything unless quoting animal emoji counts.

Unless Jon is playing some kind of 5D chess with a fake tell on top of his real tell, presumably he doesn't have the animal tell.

I haven't checked Fool, mostly because I'm assuming people have already scoured his posts since he was on trial when the clue was received. Plus Vash said nobody had come close to guessing his tell.

CG did seem suspicious to me at first too, but I feel like the real librarian would've refuted his claim if nothing else. He's confirmed good imo.

Local was being overtly shady from the very beginning. At that point they had no idea what clues would be revealed or if anybody else was the snitch. Maybe the original plan was to post a fake clue? But why change now when reiterating information doesn't prove anything except that the two animal clue is legit?

Alu could always be evil. It's so hard to know with him.
