Also on the earlier discussion re Librarian shush totals, I thought 30 was about the sweet spot but do like the idea of a personalised total based on the librarians decision.

What would everyone's thoughts be on a shushed defendant being allowed 4 posts to defend themselves? But 1 post for all other shushing cases

Which is why it blows my mind that you broadcasted shortkut was going to be your target.

If you say nothing, there's a 1/3 chance you take it out of his hands, and can deal with the bomber.
The reason is simple: we fucked up.

We didn't realize we had this avenue until the next day thread, and by then it was too late. But there was still a chance he thought we were bluffing, and it was the only chance we had, so we had to take it.

I think the only person/team that didn't really fuck up this game was Tubby - so the outcome here was by far the most well deserved.

City fucked up the most
Mafia fucked up a bit (more so at the end, but I really think taking out tubby before Jon's trial would have sealed it)
Bomber bombed the fuck out of everyone

I mentioned it in the last game, @Tubby23 but it's really impressive how much you've improved from your first game until now.

That makes a lot more sense.

It's easier said than done to not make mistakes in these games and hindsight can suck sometimes.

A big part of these games is realising you made a mistake and trying to correct it - without overcorrecting.

(we are all guilty of it)

I'm firmly of the belief that the perfect game doesn't exist (which is why I joked Kat played the perfect game, dying before it started).

Very kind sir. My most glaring error was role claiming bailiff I thought

You two always think I'm sus though. TD said I was sus when I was the koala.
That game, I had 3/4 of my day1 sus list be baddies. It was a good game considering that. Too bad I had the dead. :sad

.... and I currently can't remember any games where you weren't a nogoodnick or the CG equivalent of a koala. Welp.

We didn't know Tubby was the Bomber. We got very few seer checks, because our seer got jailed day 1. The bomber very well could have been jailed for all we knew. Really we just needed to outpost the bomber the day before.

It was our button man that was jailed (day 2). Our seer was killed Day 1. We only got one check in.

Yeah - different perspectives on it. I was fairly convinced at that point, but it's fair to have not been convinced about it.

Also can we get a more appropriate "You judged wrong" badge than the Tubby Boy? I haven't earned the full Tubby yet because it didn't kill me as a result.
Although arguably you did lose the game because of it.

I wish there was a well-known judge equivalent of Lionel Hutz.

How about a sleepy Clarence Thomas?

My head was full of fuck when shortkut didn't press you on this
I thought he did it on purpose knowing full well I was bailiff and we knew he was not city aligned but did not know for sure bomber or mafia

on Day 1 & 2 I had used angry reactions and mentioning how angry I was about Kat's death to try and hint at Angry Man.
I did notice this! I thought it was weird you were so mad about it, but (as usual) I didn't connect it to hinting about a role.

This tbh really annoyed me and Zell. Alu asking the dedthred to vote who he should vote for and the dedthred playing along was shitty.
That's fair. I voted but wasn't using any secret info to do so, and didn't really think he'd listen to it anyway. I'll still watch my reactions in the future.

From a mafia perspective, this was our best chance because it came down to pure luck instead of the town deciding (which was never going to go our way because we'd been lying to them all game).
I like rooting for the solo killer just because they're all on their own, so it's a tough role, both logistically and mentally. Anyone who can pull it off deserves the win. If Tubby hadn't been a possible winner, then I'd have been happy seeing the Mafia win. You played it well!

I'd be for either this or them being allowed to answer questions directed at them or something similar.

I was genuinely annoyed for you in a small way as you had barely got to play my game and ended up dead and then ended up dead here. But I put a lot of mayo on that anger. I'm thinking given it went unmentioned most didn't notice.

I don't mind the thought of say 2 posts + direct questions. But I think the rule on what constitutes a direct question has to be very clear. Eg written in bold, tagged with an @, full question marks etc

Hmm, the more I think about it, the more I think they should still be limited to one post. Don't want to be shushed during trial? Make your posts count and don't go over the limit. Or convince the librarian not to shush you.

The only comment I'd make on that is depends if we are using the Librarians choice or not.

What if librarian chooses anyone who posted between 5 and 20 times? Effectively you're shushed for a low-medium level of activity and then can't actually defend yourself.

If it's set up as this game was then being shushed should be less of an issue as you know the target number in advance.

Oh, yeah, if you can't avoid being shushed then they definitely should have some way to defend themselves.
