But there's a Dirty Cop and if he arrests Cole, then Cole lives. With all that knowledge.

Think I'm gonna have to switch from the FQ to the Zell rules on talking outside of the game. It's one thing for someone to get played by someone pretending they're on the same team, but when other people get caught in the crossfire it makes me sad.

Yeah I was honestly feeling pretty good about my Cole read when I did my grades initially.

Then he went and MADE SURE Alu saw it. I then clearly overthought the shit out of it thinking there's no fucking way Cole would be like "hey mob look at me, I'm the gumshoe".

The biggest thing I learned - stick to the theory crafting when you're sober, not when you're high. I went way too deep down a conspiracy rabbit hole. Then this morning I tried to both remember and justify my thought pattern.

Ugh yeah. I'm happy to hear that, as soon as Cole asked about PMs being allowed, I knew some crazy shit was about to go down - but this? That sucks for the rest of the mob, really bad move by kut.

I was going to provide feedback about the PM thing but I'm happy to hear you've already come to that conclusion.

Probably playing it the right way. Take it slow and read which way the game is going before making a move and revealing your presence.

Cole told me that kut outed the team prior to any of the cop stuff happening. I even pointed out in the mafia chat that there was at least one cop who could arrest people. So that's unfortunate.

It's part of the reason why I didn't try to convince anyone of my innocence to be honest.

But also I wasn't lying. Night 0 I investigated player 10, ants, who is the lawyer.

There is no good cop in this game.

Oh well though. I would have been done today regardless. Cole had a better claim and I didn't want to out that the last townie role. But it should be obvious now what the role is, just not who it is or that the mob knows it.

I would've thought you drew that conclusion from the extra night 0 kill that's why I asked. But it was the Vigilante, I don't think anyone actually thought that.

I was fairly certain it was a vigilante kill actually for some reason. I think I misread Vash's initial message to us and assumed bad cop was around. But I guess with Gum Shoe, Lawyer, Judge, and Vigilante confirmed there definitely is a bad cop.

I'm hoping that with Cole outing all of the people he was able to investigate that there won't be a compelling reason to believe him on his other suspicions moving forward. We'll see how he plays it.

Also, once I found out who Cole was, I gave it about 40% odds that I was the person he was investigating that same night. I had a feeling he wanted to go for someone he respects as a player, and to that point I was probably the hardest to get a decent read on in that group. I had kut slightly behind me in terms of odds. But in my mind it was a more likely than not scenario that he found a mafia member that night.

It's the only option. It should hopefully be obvious to the rest of the mafia that there is no good cop around and that there's no other way to protect him (other than throwing him in jail for another trial tomorrow, which would remove his ability to investigate anyway and be done before the night phase).

For my own personal regret, I was sad that Cole got arrested because I had a really fun story worked out with both TD and Cole dying at the same time while arguing like they did in the game thread, complete with repurposed direct quotes.
