It is, however, often grouped with brass. Especially when you ignore everything above the Tenor Sax (that and Bari are almost always included in "Low Brass" due to the kind of parts they typically play). It's also because it tends to be a more "jazzy" instrument than most other woodwinds and doesn't really fit in so well with them.I think saxamaphone is technically a woodwind instrument not a brass
