That's what I did for a while too, but now it's set up where it sends a request to my phone and I either approve it or don't. But there was this one time though before that where I had to log in to my account on his phone for some reason that I can't remember, and as soon as I did, a bunch of charges for things he'd previously tried to purchase started going through all of a sudden and my banking app started blowing up my phone. I had over twenty charges to beg refunds for. lol

Never again signed on with my own account on his device after that.

Yeah, that does not sound like fun. The 11 year old just got a tablet, and we got her a reloadable Visa card to connect to it because she wanted to download games. Fortunately, she's one of those kids that recognizes the scam that is "micro transactions", as she pointed out to us "why would I pay $1.99 for gems if I can let an ad play while I go grab a snack and get them for free?" Go on, girl, keep that mentality. We sure as hell aren't gonna tell her otherwise.
