There's a reason Musk takes his kid everywhere with him now. It isn't because he's a good father.

Although the "you're not the real president you have to go" or whatever said to Trump was worth it momentarily.

I continually think about our dude in savior, Luigi. Brother knew his moment. Too bad the rest of us are scared of being uncomfortable during the revolution.

The rest are scared, or, too preoccupied fighting their fellow man over their red or blue shirt ignoring the fact that we’re all fucked if things don’t change. It’s wild to think that Independence Day happened just for a new ruling class to take hold not even 300 years later.

…and not the good kind of fucked, either. Rip-offs.

300 years ago, everyone was already spending every day trying to scrape by, keep warm at night, etc. They were still self sufficient.

But simple shit like them not building fireplaces in homes anymore means you've got to worry about how you'd not freeze, or how your family will get food when you can't hunt/grow any yourself.

They really made life comfortable enough we have to hurt ourselves before we can hurt their cruelty.

Unfortunately, to hear it from my woman, that isn’t too far from the truth these days either. With the introduction of clean energy acts, there are a lot of antiquated houses that aren’t capable of retaining electric heat adequately. That’s leaving people still struggling to warm their houses after they find out that if they want a oil or natural gas heating system, they’re going to have to come out of pocket for it… or jump through hoops to qualify for financing. She fields calls all day from people with 100-200 year old homes that are seeing several hundred dollar electric bills for their 1,700sq ft home.

Yeah, I'd believe it. Plus like... They just have to turn off the electricity and we're all pretty fucked.

Annoyingly enough, all those backwater southern places are the most equipped to survive through that.

She exclusively deals with that kind of stuff in Massachusetts and now New Hampshire a little, and it’s alarming when you have doctors and lawyers complaining that they can’t afford their utilities after a 75-85% rate increase from fall to winter. I’m talking… homes in Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard where the occupants are struggling the same way people in South Boston are.
