GAME FACTS: in the lead-up to this game's release, his lack of distinctive characteristics and his milquetoast speech made this character a laughing stock online, and epitomized for many the decline in creativity (see: soul) in the Paper Mario series.

Ironically, when the game releases, this character, despite his unimpressive design, ends up being one of the best-written characters in the game, and is the central figure in THE MOST heart-wrenching and emotional scene in the entire game.

Paper Mario 64 and Paper Mario TTYD are universally agreed to be excellent games. I find the pacing in 64 a bit better, so it's my favorite of the two. Opinions on later entries are very divided, but I think they only get so much hate because the first entries were so good and because it's an established N franchise, so expectations are high. I thought Color Splash and Origami King were both pretty good, even despite the combat being less enjoyable than previous entries.

Planning to have a different solo killer each game to change the feel/story so it shouldn't be an issue after this game.
