I suppose so - Day 1 was one of the most fun days I've had in all my time playing wolf games and a lot of that came due to the uncertainty.

I think it comes down to there's too many roles that have some way of discovering identities. Something to consider for Zell for game 3.

There definitely needs to be a cap on the number of certain roles that can appear. Or, you do random selection on the town and specifically choose the wolf team.

Like in our current situation, a combination of Guardian, Berserk and Shadow would guarantee a wolf victory. But, seemingly, they don't have any of those here.

gg?

Although it may not matter here, I think it's better to just trust the revivee, don't reveal the other people, and use it to see who other people want to talk about.
not in this case it wasn't.

if I was going to take a shot, I needed to know what Alu knew to avoid hitting a townie. I need to know what cg/td knew to avoid hitting a townie.

or more importantly. it's because they revealed thst we narrowed down the wolves.

this game, not wolf, but zells version of it. pretty much REQUIRES role claiming at some point.

this was that point for this game. the list was narrowed and we needed to make the play.

I think a number of townie roles are a bit too strong and on top of being able to tell people your role, it seems that the town has an advantage over the wolves and solos.
Plus everybody has some kind of fancy role, there's no generic villager and no generic wolf. A lot of games I've played have a handful of special village roles and maybe 1 special wolf role.

Knowing the exact number of each (village, wolves, solo), makes it a lot easier too.

I agree - the town has a pretty big advantage.

the town has no such advantage.

I say respectfully these first two wolf teams made mistakes. they need to be more aggressive, they need to take the risk.

I wish I had waited until I was wolf to do the strategy I did in this game.

the wolves need to false role claim, that's why the extra roles exist.

they need to make a plan and execute it.

gimme wolf with one other person willing to take risks and we'll see about that.

I reckon the two of you could've steered away from that, but that's more than fair too.

I mean, could we have sussed out everyone? maybe. but it would've taken either all day or the next 2 days.

this just sped it up significantly.

role claiming needs to be done by the wolves.

you guys want the strat? there it is. I've been saying it since the first day 1 of the first game.

When there are effectively at least 7 roles in the town that have some kind of role detection element to it, the wolves don't stand a chance.

I disagree. because none of them grant exactly what anyone is. and the shaman disrupts THAT entirely. you didn't play the game with the shaman. it's very disruptive.

I look forward to being a wolf and testing your hypothesis

You and I were both quite wrong on our wolf guesses through Day 1 for the most part.

Day 2 was not behaviour reading or deductive reasoning, we were literally able to identify all of the bad guys due to forms of role identification.

That should not happen in day 2.

also the events of night 1 lead to me identifying the jailer.

you and cg confirming each other becsuse of the previous day. holly and tubby I called out at the end of day 1. the only missing piece was alus random night 0 check and his death.

Among Us mods have guessing roles that allow an imposter, neutral killer, and crew to guess the roles of others and eliminate them. If they're wrong, they die. It keeps people from instantly stating their roles and makes it so that if you want to eliminate people you need to try to deduce their roles to avoid death. Also, sometimes, there are roles where if certain conditions are met, everyone knows their role and they can't be guessed. So, in our case, if the medium revived a player who died, they can't be guessed because everyone already knows their role.

I mean ants was doing a pretty good job and made a reasonable false claim. Until I verified vash it wasn't clear you were leaning in the direction of shooting ants because of the claim.

Bottom line - this town win wasn't some master play by us or poor play by the wolves, the odds were stacked in our favour.
I vehemently disagree. the day 1 activities lead to 90% of our information. NONE of the seer roles give clear enough answers on who's who except for the wolf seer.

the problem is that in this game of deception and lies, so many people are staggeringly afraid to lie. and that's how the wolves kept losing. I survived and help with town in the first game with nothing but truth. and I've so far survived in this game starting off with a bold faced lie.

people need to find the strat for the game and I promise you it will be very different.

I've been getting confused with all the people telling the TRUTH.

imagine the chaos if every one starts lying?

ants was doing a great job. and like I said, every thing from day 1 set us up to get the last pieces of information from you and that set the table.

There was some good playing on our part, it wasn't just super unbalanced. We managed to spread our checks out enough different people on the first day for one.

It was a deliberate decision (at least on my part) to target someone who I believe is a good player that also was unlikely to get targeted otherwise.

The decision to bring me back instead of waiting to see if Cole died to bring him back also was a very good move. Without that choice, today wouldn't have gone nearly as smoothly as it did. But waiting would have been a reasonable move as well.
