Okay I think until we have information otherwise I feel good about Ants and Holly

I feel weirdly super Okay with Benzine

Smacktard pulled the whole "I'm important but don't wanna say why" even though NO ONE questioned him. That's the most sus thing I've actually seen. Everything else is vibes from me.

Voting Smacktard to continue the tradition of voting for sleepers.

What are your ideas?
So far I think three or four people have either revealed roles, or faked them. I said earlier (while you were sleeping) that I can be useful after today but not exactly on Day 1 yet. Once we have more promising leads, I'm sure I can do something better than splash someone and drown in a puddle.

I don't think anyone is exhibiting any signs of suspicion because it's day 1 and everyone is shitposting and going off in here. Which is okay, but as soon as someone wants or tries to get serious, it is flagged as suspicion. So far, Benzine has suspected me based on me being serious, or for no reason. That's probably better than bandwagon voting for someone like shortkut or Cole like every other game has been.

I don't think the shit posting needs to stop by ANY means, but I do think it makes it easier for misinformation to spread, and not as active players to be at a severe disadvantage. A lot of the time, people don't go back and read everything, and if they do, they aren't digesting it because they're rushing to make a decision or contribute. This is the primary reason I was looking for some sort of a comprehensive write up of day one, but I guess I shouldn't rely on others for that, rather contribute myself. The only issue is I have accused people in the past of driving the narrative by posting those graphs, and I don't want the same accusation to befall me for trying to get a grip on what's going on. It was bad judgement in previous games to be under the impression that people doing write-ups are driving the narrative. I think it's actually quite useful.

In any case, the more serious and the more you have to say, the bigger target you become. I know that's happening right now but what can I do? There are piles of shitposts but very few pee posts. We must equalize the pee pee and the poo poo.

See Benzine posting more makes me suss, because its a change in style. But it could of course be coincidental with it being Friday on our side of the planet and having time.

Kelly certainly didn't hint at much.

I have learnt from Zell though that our reads can't be trusted. I'm only really comfortable with at least a narrowing of what role one person could be.

My cold reads have been, historically, EXCELLENT

I just end up talking my way away from them

I've just got to the PC to start the morning so I have yet to do a thorough read but do have to admit if you're reading on a phone the shitposts can just distract you.

TD, loved the last time I put a list together but now that I'm on a computer I will do a read through and hopefully post some more substantive thoughts soon

I’m active and doing nothing but shit-posting and I have absolutely no idea what is going on beyond @Ants! implying he is the red lady. I don’t think the inactive members are at a disadvantage. In fact, I’m every game, the inactive members make further than the more active members but they probably have less fun. If @VashTheStampede is to be believed, @Christina is actually taking notes, so maybe she can share any pertinent knowledge with you

I'll be serious for a second. Lots of people have wisened up and aren't going to crack on the pressure. Pressure givers recognise this and don't give as much pressure. Unless people are willing to give info (WHICH HEAPS OF PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE), we're a bit more stuck compared to our historically super successful first days, but what are we going to do? This is different from the last however many games.

Personally, if I was okay with dying and had a role that is top priority, I would be okay with sharing my info... Except for the fact that I don't want to bring the killing pool down and risk our medium and killers. We want the medium to tell us what FR knows at some point.

So, I will make my plays the best way I can to bring value to this day... I'm just not really expecting any massive blunders in the way of talking.

Things will kick off when our medium gets a chance to ask SS what's up. Strong roles can say "hey is anyone else ready to share" when they feel they've got enough to start with too.

tbh the games are more fun for me personally when people take it a bit more seriously. there's so many people that spend so much time shit posting that it makes it nearly impossible to make real reads.

I get people wanting to have fun, and I've definitely contributed to shit posting. but it is a big reason I keep trying to step away from these games.

it still stems from the fact that people think it's impossible to get accurate day 1 reads, and it isn't. but it does get more difficult the more people are posting bullshit.

then of course there's the sense that a change in playing style means guilt. and it doesn't always. especially in this era with us all older and busier.

I guess I should elaborate for those that don't realize what I'm talking about.

Spirit Seer read is last on action list, meaning FR died before he got any information.

Adding to this - it's definitely not impossible. I'll add I prefer to play but the way I played before legit just had me as a suspect every time (even when town) because I was posting, making accusations, fishing, and trying to get info. That's how I always played on old GW.

The town has a bad track record in all these games off of reads (so far) because instead of thinking about what those heavy serious posters are trying to get at, we find them suspicious.

Sometimes you gotta take chances. What's the worst that can happen? You'll be wrong. Look at me in VTS, I went hard at Cole with a dirty cop accusation. Was I wrong? Yeah. Was I sure? No. Was it a reach? Yes. Was it fun? Yes.

It's okay to wrongly accuse people.

How do we feel about not lynching anyone day 1?

I'm typically against it because I think the town needs to be aggressive but I'd like to at least have a conversation
There's no Fool so it's less risky than other Zell games, the game won't instantly end with a mislynch. We are basically at an Abstain right now.

That said - the only people I have reads on right now are townie reads and I don't feel confident about wolf reads (yet).

I mean I would encourage anyone who has anything useful to add to add it, even if subtly. Ants did so and is basically unquestioned at this point.

But it's definitely a case where people might be scared to change it up if they're not known for doing so. Tubby posted a list for the first time last game in Mafia because other people tend to do it. It was the first time he tried it and then he immediately became one of the top suspects people were accusing because of it. I mean he was mafia, but it's still weird that that's what did it for people.

I love the long unclaimed times though. Because it helps to cement safety... and if it's wrong, it's often due to an awesome fun wolf play, or the town member with the role can do an excellent and strong reveal later on.

I am so excited for someone to pretend to be my role!
