The gold rush came and went like a summer storm, leaving dilapidated communities in its wake whenever people realized that there were no more opportunities for them to get rich quick. The towns that propped themselves up around the now-dry mines tagged themselves with sometimes whimsical names. Gold Whiskers was one such town, and for years it was practically abandoned. Squatters moved in and then squatters moved out when they realized there wasn't anything there for them, either.

Enter Mayor Legally Distinct Amaloo, known by the populace as Mayor LD. He led the charge to get Gold Whiskers reincorporated, to get the buildings fixed up, and to bring people back. And it worked! It worked perhaps too well, because among the group of settlers who returned to the town, there was another group capable of things beyond anyone's wildest imagination. For weeks, months, they laid low, inserting themselves into the fabric of the town. They were store clerks, mail deliverers, regular people working regular jobs just like you or me.

Everything changed one clear night, under the light of the full moon. Mayor LD was taking one of his trademark 2 AM power walks, but he never made it back home. Well, he did make it back home eventually...in extremely grisly corpse form. The bite and claw marks that rent his flesh were the telltale signs of werewolves...but who among us could be capable of such things? There was only one way to find out...

friends, romans, countrymen, welcome. you already know what's up. it's mother fucking wolf time. here are the rules.

• DAY PHASES will last at least 24 hours. the first DAY PHASE will last at least 36 hours.
• during DAY PHASES, discuss amongst yourselves who you think the wolves are. cast your vote by putting the member name in bold in your post. you can post discussion as much as you like, just make sure your vote is clearly labeled whenever it happens. i will periodically tally votes and post updates throughout the day phase.
• during each DAY PHASE, you may change your vote a total of ONCE. when changing your vote, please indicate who you are changing your vote from and please still bold the name of who you are changing your vote to
• ACTIVITY RULES: you will only be removed from the game if you fail to vote in either 3 consecutive day phases or 5 day phases total. you cannot vote to abstain (will accept feedback on this as we go)
• at the end of each DAY PHASE, there will be an EXECUTION. whoever gets the most votes will be EXECUTED. in the event of a tie, the DAY PHASE will be extended and those who cast votes for non-tied members will be asked to recast their votes. think of it like a runoff but for getting shot by a silver bullet
• after the EXECUTION we will enter the NIGHT PHASE. the thread will go quiet as everyone in GW lays down their heads to sleep for the night. the wolves will discuss who they want to target and one of them will send me a message. whenever that choice has been made (and whenever i am awake to reflect it), the next DAY PHASE will start with the discovery of the next body.
• i think that about covers everything! if there's any more questions don't hesitate to ask. the three wolves will receive PMs from me informing them of their roles and the other members of their team. if you don't receive a message, you're just a townie. sorry. good luck staying alive!

shortkuts strategy is always a random first day vote, so I don't think this is suspicious. I also like to get the ball rolling with a random vote sometimes.

It makes no difference because without having any roles, the wolves have no reason to post anything incriminating, so then day 2 essentially becomes a random lynching

I'd like to point out that kut didn't actually state he was going to vote @Ants! He postured a question as a joke. But now he's all in on Ants from the get go. If kut got Ants! as a wolf teammate, does he follow through with this?

kut is either a wolf "randomly" choosing to vote @Ants! under the guise that he's doing it because he had already stated he was going to do it in the interest thread, or he's a human who is comfortable lynching anyone just because.

Then again, both Cole and kut are going off on each other. Trying to distract us with your bickering? "Oh, if we argue with each other, maybe everyone will only suspect one of us."

I was thinking about voting for Cole because of his immediately toying with the idea to vote to murder Ants. Not necessarily because he's in league with kut but because he may have seen a way to quickly brigade and kill an innocent.

Also because I'm dumb and bad and incurring Cole's wrath is a horrible idea.

At this point I am typing more words which probably also is a bad idea?

But also I guess not voting is an option?

I'm not quite sure how that changes what I'm saying. there are 11 civis and 3 wolves, someone better than me at math can give you the odds, but they aren't good. that's 10 civi 3 wolves. then the wolves kill night 1. 9 civi 3 wolves. and at that point 3 wolves voting together are already 1/3rd of the vote. on 2 day. at least with no vote today, that's still 10 on 3.

It would be a function of "Abstain" not overriding the name with the highest vote count though, I think? Insofar that if absolutely nobody voted, then nobody would die.

In a game about gathering information though, at this point, doing nothing seems ill-advised.
