You got it! I had the game as a kid and fkn loved it. It was almost definitely shite, but it helped tide me over after playing through Pokemon Yellow and Gold.

The game was really weird, though. Fire types were not very effective against gas types because ?????

Also, like Red and Blue, there were originally two versions released in Japan (Sun and Star), but only one version (Sun) was released in the west. And the JP versions were incompatible with the Western versions. This meant that there were a bunch of Robopon were unobtainable in the Western versions.

Later, a third version (Moon) was released in Japan, which had an additional 20 Robopon. And there was a fourth version that was finally released and which you could only get by sending away an order to a gaming magazine, which redid some of the game's sprites to align them closer with the anime.

Whew.
